Poggio Aprico was exactly what I was looking for: a comfy apartment in a classic, Tuscan villa, surrounded by a gorgeous garden and olive groves - and it has a decent size pool with a paddling pool for kids too! It is located just outside Venturina Terme and a short drive from magnificent Tuscan villages (Strade del Vino e dell'Olio) and gorgeous beaches of the Etruscan Coast (Baratti - my love!) - to me, a perfect combination. The owner Paola is most welcoming, helpful and professional. Together with her father she works tirelessly to make your stay as comfy and pleasant as possible: the apartment is very well equipped and spotless. And they do a magnificent job maintaining the garden too - think fragrant jasmine around the pool, lush pelargonium adorning the balcony, slender cypress and the ever present olive trees... They make their own olive oil too (which Paola let us taste and which we liked so much that we bought 6 litres of :-) I seldom return to the same place twice, but Poggio Aprico has me thinking about going back - the sooner, the better.

There is nothing I didn't like - Poggio Aprico met my expectations 100% - highly recommend!

Warm welcome to the apartment. Super clean. No air con which is a shame but there was generally a nice breeze. The pool is very nice and exceptionally clean. Comfy beds. The location is set just above a through road so you do hear some traffic. Venturina Terme, the small town, is a very short drive. V quiet but a few good restaurants and Gelateria. Big supermarket there. Lots of local places to visit such as Campiglia Marittima a gorgeous old village in the hills. The coast is not too far and some decent beaches. The area is not touristy.

Air con in the bedrooms would be good.

The building and the garden is beautiful. Supermarked at walking distance. Near to Follonica Water Park and Cavillino Matto.

Unfortunately we got our stay ruined by some very ill-mannered german kids, who was staying above our room. From the moment we arrived they were harrasing my kids and was very rude when told to go away. They continued to do so for 2 days, which made my kids retire to their room and never had a chance to go to the pool without beeing harrased. They threw small stones into our kitchen, when we were not in the room. They rang our doorbell several times and ran away, when we open the door. They drove bikes in front of our terrace, making noise on purpose. The parents was clueless and had no control over their kids. The hotel was okay, but I would not recommend it. The place needs a 24-hour guard because it attracts these kind of idiot tourists.

place is amazing, I would highly recommend it. The host was extremely kind and very flexible on all our requests.

Unfortunately air conditioning was not working and given the high temperatures, it made it a bit difficult to sleep at night.
