It was such a GREAT place to stay, a perfect getaway from the busy center of Nagoya, the accomodation is traditional but authentic. The owners are absolutely adorable, and made the stay so pleasant!
A bit far from the city center so prepare for public transport

Classic small ryokan in the city. Nice old pair who runs it. Tatami room and vibe of old days. Deep bath (sento style) in shared bathroom.
No cover on window so I got a lot of light from streetlamp.

The owners were very cordial and the bath is decent for a night's rest. The location was close to the highway but relatively situated in a quiet neighborhood which was perfect for resting.
Nothing really. Everything was what I expected it to be.

very nice place. The owners are a cute nice couple! Even if we didn’t speak the same language we manage to understand each other! It was a very nice experience! It’s a little bit far away from the centre, but still better because of that!
The fact that it is a little bit far away from the subway or train station! But not a problem comparing to the experience!

The hosts were two of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. They truly made my friends and I feel welcome in their ryoukan and it made the experience unforgettable. I would highly recommend this ryoukan to others, not just for the gorgeous, cosy rooms and convenient location but also for the absolute pleasure of meeting the two hosts.
The room was large enough for 3 people but at times, with our futons, suitcases and 3 people in the room it felt a bit cramped. If you keep a neat room and your suitcases are packed up you will not have any issues with space.

The old couple running the ryokan was wonderful! They are super accommodating and helpful, even if they don't speak too much English. I love traditional tatami rooms and I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the room! If you're a solo traveler, it's more than perfect. The best part is that they ask you what time and where you go in the mornings, and if it's (I think) close by, they can drive you there! Which is a life saver since I carried a lot of stuff. If you're not a fan of communal bathrooms, find the time to use the bath facilities when no one else is. It's okay to lock the bathroom door and you'll have the entire bath to yourself. Otherwise, there's a sento (public bathhouse) right across the street and you can purchase a ticket from the ryokan itself! Just ask. You need your own toiletries to use the public bath so if you didn't bring any, the ryokan can loan you shampoo and soap.
I think there's only one toilet in the facility and it's non-segregated. If you're uncomfy with a different gender coming in while you're in the toilet, find time to use it when no one's there. It's not too difficult. It's Western style but doesn't have a bidet. There's also a seat cover, which is really not sanitary? If you want to sit down, just lift the seat up. Food and convenience stores are some blocks away, the nearest station is even further. If you aren't used to walking (to the station) for 20 minutes, or have luggage, good luck. Despite the distance, it's easy to find and the area is good for walking!
