Second time in japan, but first time in the hakkeido region for skiing. Very easy to get to. After JR'ing, from sapparo, to Kutchan station, the local city bus from kutchan will take you directly to the pension hotel. The bus stop is right at hotel entrance. The hotel is close to grand niseko's lift. Maybe a 10 minute walk tops uphill to the lifts. Rented a private room with 2 single beds. We were even allowed to check in early which helped after standing on the Jr train for 2+ hours with gear. Hotel had a decent onsen and shower downstairs. Has a microwave, coffee station, boiler and communal fridge in the hall so you can stock up on all the late night diy snacks from the nearby 711/lawson and heat up later. Considering last minute booking around peak new years time this was an amazing gem of a find and priced right. Wifi was fast too. There is a ski/snowboard rental shop literally right next door. There is also one closer to the lifts called rhythm rental if you dont want to deal with chuggin in your boots and luggin gear every single day back to hotel. You can utilize their overnight storage perk. I forgot a small bag with contents inside and only realized after leaving town. Yuki the owner, was super kind to devote her time to go to the post office to ship it back to me internationally. I really appreciate the hospitality and will definitely be back again next season. P.S. the Corgi doggo is hella cute.

super happy with pension new white bear, the staff was very helpful, it had an onsen on site, very close to stores, bus stop, restaurants and lifts, would definitely stay here in the future

Amazing location right in the heart of the Hirafu area, under 5min walks to great food and shops. Comfortably warm rooms, super nice and helpful staff, good facilities, good value. Shipping boards/skis was no problem (and they even handled the return shipment for us!). Couldn’t recommend more.

Being in the center of town, the street noise could get quite loud sometimes (especially snow removal).

The staff was so welcoming and kind! The room with the loft was perfect and the location is superb! a plus is also the Corgi dog that loves at the pension.

Great location and great value for money. Central location near stores, restaurants and bars. Easy walking distance to ski lift. Staff were very helpful and friendly and offered to drive us to the bus stop at the end of our stay. There's choice a good western or Japanese breakfast. Loft rooms offer a bit more space. The en-suite bathrooms (in some rooms) are usable but very small. Although the shared washing areas are always available.
