We just returned from our five night stay at the Relais Casali della Cisterna and absolutely loved every aspect of our stay. The room was spacious, the views were gorgeous. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the 14 euro cost was more than reasonable. The rooms were cleaned and equipped with everything that we would have needed. Since it’s a family-run hotel, the hosts absolutely ensure that everything is done to the guests’ liking. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough!!

Everything was absolutely great. The location is awesome, it offers stunning views to the Lake Maggiore and it is just a few minutes away by drive from Stresa and the beautiful islands (Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori) to visit. All the food they serve is very tasty. What an incredible experience to eat the breakfast with such a view. The rooms are clean and bedding very comfortable. Last but not least: the owners are amazing, they are very nice and they always do their best to make you happy. We highly recommend!

We loved everything about the property. Sandra and Roberto were supper nice! We were offered the room that has a private terrace overlooking lake Maggiore! The view was amazing, bed very comfortable, room very clean and they make great Aperol spritz.

Excellent location to explore Stresa and the surrounds. Very comfortable rooms and gorgeous views over the lake. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend especially travellers with families.

Everything was great

The couple who run it are very welcoming and were very helpful with recommending the best and easiest way to get to places as well as warning us of tolls we were going to encounter without our knowledge and helping us out with what needed to be done. The hotel has a wonderful warm atmosphere and the food was delicious. The gardens are beautifully kept and the rooms are very comfortable. I highly recommend staying there.

This hotel is a real gem if you are looking for a beautiful place to stay. The property is in perfect condition and the rooms are outstanding - more like 5 star quality than the hotel's 3 star rating! The hotel is set in a 200 year old park of trees from around the world, overlooking the lake. The owners are extremely charming and run the hotel to a very high standard. Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the lake. All in all a lovely place to stay.

The only drawback is that the hotel is next to the main railway line to the Simplon pass. HOWEVER, the rooms are very well sound-proofed and there are very few trains running on the line at night time, so the noise was hardly noticeable.

Only one bottle of water provided for a 5 day stay, many steps to the building, very uncomfortable to drag your luggage (good 20-30 steps), reception is not very knowledgeable on local tours/excursions, bath tub leaked, impossible to get around without a car, not a walking distance to anything really, not even to the lake - had to use car every day.

Everything - could not fault it

Perfect location for traveller who prefer privacy and being outside the busy tourists towns (e.g. Stresa) while having luxury, good service, breakfast + dinner (bistro style). I have travelled with the car and had no problems to go to the location and back. the train station is 15 min (careful there is a small hill ;-) away by foot and takes you in 5 min to Stresa and in 1 hr to Milan (express train only). There is no disturbance by the train line. The location is perfect for privacy, as this location offers two villas with only a limited number of rooms managed by a family very professionally and personal. The service can match some first class hotels and the breakfast (you get a list, where you can select for the next day) is perfect. The view from the terase is romantic and displays a very nice scenery with Lago Maggiore. There is an impressive garden/parc which is part of the hotel. You can reach all relevant tourist sites, locations and islands from the location. Free parking (and 2 fast-charger) are available. The Jacuzzi is perferct for a romantic night with some wine/prosecco. The Dinner is good, the breakfast is perfect and there is a Nespresso coffee maschine on the room. I recommend this location for people who are looking for peace, privacy and good culinary and service experiences, while having a car or want to use this as a place to start hiking and exploring.

The cocktail glasses appear a little big, so a double shot is suggested if you want to really enjoy the great selection and mixing results of signature cocktails available. Also the virgin drinks are balanced and refreshing. The mosquito in the evening are a problem everywhere but thanks to our hosts and some tools we could relax and enjoy a great pizza, wine and the romantic scenery.

Attention to Detail and superb service. Simona and Alberto are the best hosts. They go the extra mile to make of your holidays an unforgettable experience.
