Location of property

Property wasn’t as good as it looked in the photos online. There’s also a Rodent issue with rats found running on the veranda, saw them a few nights in a row, heard them in the roof at night, grass not cut and oven not cleaned from previous occupants.

Fantastic holiday home! Would definitely book again.

The house was very well renovated and styled. The owners would be proud. It was a short stroll to a playground and the estuary. The owner had a baby gate for the top of the stairs.

The service from LJ Hooker was AWFUL!!!!!! They kept asking for more and more things without clear explanation. I randomly got an email demanding to pay $200 without explaining it was bond. When I checked in, I had to ALSO pay a holding deposit on my credit card of an unspecified amount "up to $500" but more if there was deemed to be damage. Most hotels hold $50 and document when it will be released. Then I HAD to sign a poorly worded form declaring I was responsible for ALL damage to the property during my stay! This would leave me responsible for a roof leak, or a burst water main, a blown light bulb, or anything you could imagine. After much negotiating I explained I could only sign for damaged caused by me or my guests (but really it should have also excluded normal wear and tear like holiday parks do). The form also declared I had to leave the place EXACTLY as I found it in a clean and tidy manner. And unpack the Dishwasher. And I MUST clean the BBQ. I have stayed in lots of places and I always leave the place clean and tidy but not EXACTLY as I left it. I'm not responsible for scrubbing the shower or mowing the lawn. I'm not responsible for sweeping the dust and leaves off the deck or scrubbing the BBQ if i don't use it. And having to unpack the dishwasher means that I would have to wait 2hrs after cooking a hot breakfast for it to finish running. We found another list of strict rules when I got there but not the wifi till the 2nd night. We got a shock that the third bedroom is a granny flat downstairs with no internal access. Then we found a cockroach. And one of the beds didn't have a doona (we already had to bring sheets and pillow cases). The balcony needs work. The mainbedroom upstairs has a terrible mattress. There was a broken lamp in a corner. These prob wouldn't matter if i wasn't anxious about leaving the place EXACTLY how i found it. Still waiting for my bond to be refunded.
