Lovely hotel and great location - ensure you get a sea view room. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Restaurant was very good too. Staff very professional and helpful.

Die traumhafte Lage verbunden mit sehr aufmerksamen Mitarbeitern, die Zimmer geräumig und mit vielen Ablagen sind angenehm eingerichtet und der mehrseitige Balkon lädt zum verweilen ein. Das Frühstücksangebot ist sehr vielfältig, lediglich dass man den Kaffee ordern muss, dies je nach Andrang der Gäste auch etwas länger dauern kann, ist nicht so schön.

Die Sauna-/Schwimmbadsituation könnte modernisiert/angenehmer gestaltet werden. Die Betten sind unserer Meinung nach etwas zu hart - ist subjektiv

Beautiful place in stunning location. The views of the sea and the cliffs are spectacular. All the facilities are beautifully maintained and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the villas which are comfortable and spacious, especially if you travel with kids. The on-site restaurant is also very good. Overall a perfect stay.

The location is espetacular, the hotel is very well planned and the service excellent. I would definitely recommend. There are a walk that starts just on the back of the hotel. All in all an excellent hotel.

Good breakfast, perfect service, very nice staff! I really liked the overall friendliness and kindness of staff. We attended a cooking class, and it was just fun, very personal and not formal in any way. It was a charming experience, and staff shared about food in their region.

If there is something that makes this hotel special, it is their very friendly team. Special thanks to the team at the breakfast service and bar who warmly welcomed us every day, and to the reception for the box of chocolates on the second day, when realizing we were returning guests. The view from the room is very beautiful and relaxing. The bread made in the hotel is very good, and so it is the breakfast. Very pleasant ambience and well pointed room.

The restaurant menu has suffered a considerable decline since our last stay. The previous menu that used to report for some very well executed Madeiran dishes, gave way to a list of more sophisticated dishes, made in a Josper that the staff doesn't seem to master and that culminated in 2 meals, in 2 consecutive days, with a strong charcoal / burn taste... A significantly full 4 star hotel deserves a properly maintained indoor pool area. Therefore, mattresses piled up without any organization, indoor pool with super cold water and a deactivated jacuzzi do not line up with the expected quality. When I made the booking, I had indicated in the special requests that it was my husband's birthday and that I was willing to pay for something special to be prepared for his arrival. So it was disappointing when I arrived and realised that the request had been completely overlooked. They subsequently tried to remedy this by offering a slice of cake at the end of our meal. It was nice but not what I requested. Conclusion: Still a very good hotel, but unfortunately the quality decreased.

Everything. The staff were amazing, both at the hotel and the restaurant, 10 out of 10. There was a problem with the amenities in our room and they sorted it in minutes. The hotel facilities (sauna,spa,...) were good and really appreciated after a long day of hiking in the levadas. We managed to get the pool and the sauna to ourselves the both nights we stayed, which is always a win. The room was big, with really comfortable beds and a little balcony with stunning views of the vineyards and the cliffs. The breakfast was buffet style and with lots of options, including stuff for me as vegan and gluten intolerant. There are 3 time slots for breakfast each day, and they constantly refill the food. The restaurant was also amazing, we reserved at the hotel each day and everything was charged to the room. The food, again, incredible, the vegetarian espeitada was to die for ( I had it twice !) and the mushroom burger was also really good. The portions were big. The vegan coulant was also tasty. We will be back and stay more time.
