I had to leave very early in the morning and asked personel evening before for breakfeastbox to go but they said it is not possible so I left the hotel hungry....

The property is nestled in the beautiful national forest and a 300 metre walk in the woods to the Canadian War Cemetery. We did not eat onsite but hear it is superb. We enjoyed lovely wines at the bar. Crisp clean sheets and very clean room with small desk area and small patio.

The location is rural within a forest and generally very quiet. We came here primarily to eat and therefore planned to stay overnight. The restaurant was well decorated and our 7 course "local taste" menu well prepared and nicely presented. I particularly liked the langoustine & short-rib dish, the Anjou pigeon and the dessert which was an odd but sweet and delicious combination of cucumber, wheat beer, kiwi & mint! Service was very good as was the accompanying wine flight. The wine list had a good mixture of wines by the glass, reasonably price wines (always good to fine in a Michelin starred restaurant) and some notable vineyards/wines represented too.

Our welcome could have been better and offer of help with our bags would have been appreciated. The bedroom although very clean was quite dark and only had two small windows which one could open (above the bed and in the bathroom). I can imagine these rooms might well become too hot & stuffy on a warm summer night.
