Reception very very poor food in cafeteria terrible etc

3 weeks ago we stayed at the Rausan & marked it very highly. This time we booked at short notice for Sunday night. Unfortunately the restaurant was shut, fairly understandably, & the food in the self service was tasty but pre cooked & microwaved. The chips were also microwaved and were poor. Given they were the only potato option & people were still coming in for hot food it would have been better to have part cooked them then reheated in hot fat as required. Unfortunately we were put in a room with disability access, presumably because everything else had gone, & the seat in the shower made showering more difficult. This room was above the 24 hour self service canteen & we were woken early by chairs scraping across the floor.

Rooms were nothing fancy, but clean, tidy, air conditioned, the beds were comfortable and everything worked. Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was very nice. The best bit was the attached restaurant which served us a truly excellent meal for just €13 a head including wine - terrific food, and more than we could eat. Overall it was excellent value for money, and we'd happily stay there again.

Hard to fault, to be honest. As I say, the rooms weren't especially fancy or luxurious, but at the price they charge you wouldn't expect that. They were certainly plenty good enough to get a decent night's sleep and a good shower!

Spacious room and location to continue our journey. Vouchers for breakfast were easy to use.

Great location for a stop on the drive between Barcelona and Madrid. Nice staff.
