The hotel is located in a peaceful neighbourhood close to the centre of Weil am Rhein (and ideal to visit Basel) and is staffed by hospitable people. The rooms are spacious and quite at both day and night. The breakfast is delicious and has many options of both sweet and savoury dishes. I would especially recommend the porridge and coffee. This is a wonderful place to stay, warm and welcoming. The breakfast is outstanding and served with a friendly smile by a lady who has been there 21 years. This experience and attention to detail is really first class : bravo! The rooms are warm and cosy, the location perfect.
This time the receptionist was unsmiling unlike my many previous stays. The WiFi is really weak. A web page can take upwards of 2 minutes to load. In bursts it is ok, then the connection fails completely for a while.
This is a great disadvantage for anybody who relies on WiFi to work during their stay.

Friendly reception. Good beds and spacious room. Parking on site is convenient. The breakfast was fine and the coffee was served by a cheerful lady. A good start to the day.

The outside area was a bit messy and not very inviting.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We just stayed for one night on our way back to the UK and it was an absolutely excellent choice. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was great!

The room was very comfortable. One staff member was incredibly nice. The other was nice enough. The town was a great surprise with the wonderful Vitra campus and very close to Basel
The pictures of the rooms did not correspond at all to what the room actually was. I chose this hotel based on the pictures that showed a small table and chairs in the room and paid for an upgrade of room to ensure we had this. Unfortunately there was no table nor place for one. We were told that this existed only in the suite. As it was New Years Eve, we had packed a bottle of champagne and had no place to sit other than the bed.

This hotel/restaurant is far better than I'd expected. The bedroom was lovely: beautifully decorated, stocked mini bar, air conditioning unit, large bathroom with decent sized shower cubicle and plenty of space everywhere for your own things.
The best aspect of our one-night stay was the food: the evening meal was far better than anticipated, the wine was great, and the service very friendly and efficient. The breakfast is served in a cool quiet room off the garden with an amazingly cheerful and efficient lady running it. Stunningly good value, only five euros each -the previous hotel had charged 35 Swiss Francs EACH for the same buffet!
I'd definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.
Our dinner waiter was fine, but the other two looked permanently grim and stressed.
Fiddly German window: having opened it earlier, it would NOT close during the night. I know how to operate these windows but this one was a real beast.
It's some way away from anything else in the small town, if you have no car.
