Diving right from the resort, it's absolute waterfront, great value for money, the staff were amazing and theres a spa on site where they give fantastic massages

The location, beach front resort. very quiet and chill location. breakfast menu also very delicious. easy access to dive shops, spa, restaurant and convenience shops. you can see Mount Agung from the restaurant if the sky is clear. the staff also very helpful and very friendly

malfunction door lock/ keys. bit difficult to lock the door from inside.

Just brilliant, nice staff, beautiful view from the restaurant, massive choice of really good value and good quality food, the diving is brilliant and there is generally a really good atmosphere.

The diving equipment for rent could be better maintained and there is not enough staff at the spa.

The staff at Matahari are so lovely. This was our second visit to Tulamben and we were so excited to get back and see the staff again. I don’t dive (or snorkel) but still love staying at Matahari. The spa facilities are very good and reasonably priced, the restaurant is (almost) always open and has some of the best food I’ve eaten in Bali (try the Pad Thai) and the cool breezes on the top floor are very welcome after the heat and humidity. Matahari is a small resort, sitting at the base of Mt Agung, full of guests from around the world who all rave about how good the diving is. My kids spent hours each day happily snorkelling just off the beach whilst I read a book in one of the comfy chairs in the garden before having a sublime massage. Blissful! I can’t recommend this little gem enough and hope I’m lucky enough to visit a third time.

People, location, facilities, cleanliness and food was amazing. Diving staff were supportive and encouraging especially when I did it for the first time. Overall It was a relaxing experience.

WiFi connection was pretty poor. I think they're aware of the problem & are working on it.

The hotel is nicely situated and the staff is also nice. Restaurant is a good option if you are lazy :)

The bedroom is a bit old and should be renovated. There are some better options for the price.

If you’re going to dive in Bali. This is one of the best hotels out there, you have three amazing dive sites accessible right of the shore and the staff of the dive school is really nice! This place is also great for snorkeling. Good menu with tasty food would really recommend!

Nice beach access with nice view from restaurant. Breakfast was good and very filling.

The staff were absolutely incredible. The diving was great, the food was very good with large portions. Beautiful property. The massage was very nice.

The “king bed” was not a king bed- in my room at least it was two twin beds pushed together. One bed was a little more worn out than the other, so you couldn’t sleep more in the middle; essentially I slept in a twin bed with another bed pushed up next to it. I would have requested a queen if I had known to be able to actually spread out. The bed was disappointing, but everything else was great.

It's a good for value hotel in Tulamben area. Their restaurant serves good quality food, do try their "Ayam Plecing" is one of the best so far, don't forget to mention the spiciness level. The staff were all friendly and ready to help you.

Nothing to say

The surroundings are beautiful, the hotel is right on a beautiful natural beach. The staff was very friendly and the diving here is excellent. The food in the restaurant was also great!

The location right on the beach was excellent. The setup for diving seemed to operate smoothly and it is a good spot for people who want to dive the shipwreck. The shipwreck can be snorkelled as it is not very deep and there is a nice coral garden near the rocks at the far left end of the beach as you look at the ocean from the restaurant. Pleasant to be able to dine right on the waters edge. Very comfortable hammock. My wife liked her treatments at the spa.

The stairs in our family room were very steep with big steps. They were hard to go up and down and necessitated turning on the lights if visiting the toilet at night. This of course interfered with everyone else's sleep. A lot of the staff were new and didn't seem to know the answers to even basic questions. The service in the restaurant was extremely variable and often disorganised. On out first meal there my son had finished his lunch before my lunch arrived and I had finished mine before my wife's finally arrived. Meals would vary greatly in size and taste and quality from day to day. Requests were often ignored, I ordered my main meal and asked that there be no cucumber in the salad as it repeats on me and makes me feel sick. At the same time I ordered the chilli fruit salad , which sounded different for dessert. My salad came as requested but I was horrified when half of the "fruit" salad was cucumber. There were better places to eat within a short walking distance and massages, transfers etc were all available at cheaper prices in the town. There are a lot of dive operators in town and many more that will probably re-open soon. The wreck especially was crowded. As it is shallow there were a lot of inexperienced divers there you need to dodge waving arms, splashing fins etc.

Great view and close to the beach. Nice bar and restaurant.

Room small, dirty towel

Staff were all very friendly and hardworking. Place was clean and quiet at the time I was there. Right beside the sea, if you like that sort of thing.

Mattresses were sunken in the centre, both the original two in my room and the third which they changed as well.

Diving is awesome, staff is very friendly and supportive. You dont need to checkout until you finish your dive. Massage was the best on Bali we had.

Towels in the room were a bit dirty.
