The condo was nice but it needed to be cleaned better. The dishwasher had dirty dishes in it when we got there and there was hair in the shower drain.

Sweet, little condo in a quiet complex with wonderful amenities. Convenient to all the island has to offer but is comfortable enough that you don't need to leave. We will definitely visit again.

A really nice condo overlooking the pool. The beachfront pool is closed but the second pool is open and is great. Short walk to the beach. Very clean.

Condo was clean, well maintained. Dauphin Island was beautiful, not super busy, not real commercialized, great place to relax, and enjoy Island life.

We loved the location. To have the option of the ocean or the pool and both being within walking distance, was perfect! The living room furniture was definitely not made for relaxation. It was super hard! It made it difficult to enjoy watching the only TV in the condo. Maybe consider televisions in the bedrooms as well. It would be easier for the guest to relax, especially if they need the sounds of a tv to be able to sleep.

The condo could have been cleaned better and laundry and dishes were left in the washers, and there were some spots on the walls and the baseboards and walls felt like they hadn't been mopped. Otherwise it was a good stay and we will be returning.

This was our first family vacation to the beach. We were apprehensive about the whole trip but we had a fantastic time! The house was clean and mostly updated. Be prepared for stairs. The BBQ grill didn’t work at all-but the kitchen was appointed well enough to do all the meal prep we needed. The complex was nice and quiet. There is definitely still some repairs in the complex from the last hurricane season but we were able to work around it easily. Would definitely visit this location again.

Literally had a pool right outside our room. Everything was clean and very nice. One of the kids beds was filled with sand when we arrived so the sheets needed to be changed. Otherwise very happy and would rent again

The house was perfect for what we needed. We were at Dauphin Island to have our annual family reunion. We were really just needing a place to sleep. This condo was perfect with comfortable beds. We were happy to have a washer/dryer and kitchen with everything we needed. I liked that it also had a Keurig! We will definitely consider this house for next year!

This was our first time on the east end. The condo was beautiful and very clean. Only a few complaints and they aren’t major. We would have like to have TVs in the bedrooms and hangers in the closet. It was a very short walk to the beach. We will definitely be back for another vacation.

My family and I stayed in Sand Castle #2-A over the past weekend. There are a number of issues, including significant inaccuracies in the listing, that we only discovered upon checking in. If we had known of some of these we would not have stayed here. Some of these issues are safety hazards. I contacted a local vacasa staff the day we checked in and she offered a 2-day credit for a future stay., which doesn't make up or unsafe conditions. I followed up with management after our stay and they didn't have any further response. Here are the issues in order of most importance: The beach was under construction and unsafe. There was broken concrete and exposed steel bars all over the bulkhead, not roped off or marked. There is literally not a usable beach attached to this property. I specifically asked about beach access and condition ahead of time and was not told about the condition. The photos on the listing do not represent the beach as it exists. The pool by the beach is closed, and half full of green putrid water (and also not well closed off from a child wandering in). The photos on the listing do not represent the pool as it exists, and the description is false because there are not two pools as stated. The photos show swinging hammock chairs under the house. These do not exist, so the photos are inaccurate and do not represent the apartment. The first-floor balcony has many popped nails that could cut someone's feet; it is unsafe, especially for children. The first-floor balcony door is extremely difficult to open and close, to the point of danger of falling trying to do it. There was hair in the master bed linens, and shower.

Celebrating my daughters high school graduation at this lovely condo was perfect. 3 18year old girls fit easily into the little bedroom. It was close to the beach and such a fun area. They met other kids there age and had a great time at the pool. The private beach is beautiful.

We loved the two separate bedrooms with its own shower to give each family some privacy when they wind down at the end of the day! We brought our own kitchen utensils including plates, mugs, cooking pot only to find that it’s totally unnecessary because VACASA Kitchen has everything you need! We love to try local cuisines but it’s so good to be able to fix something simple from time to time to give our stomach rest. So we really enjoy the kitchen!

There is still damage from the hurricane to this property’s beachfront area which made it impossible to get to the beach without cutting through the neighboring rentals walkway with our wagon). We were approached and kindly told it was their boardwalk but to have a nice day. The house was clean, beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped. I wish they had better curtains in the master over the sliding glass doors because the baby was up with the sunrise at 6 am. The pool was clean, nice and warm. Overall would stay here again! The island is small, limited & expensive groceries, so bring your own!

This was a great find for our family. The condo is very nice, well decorated and clean. My daughters, grandchildren and myself had a very relaxing time. We enjoyed the pools and the beach every day of our stay. Staff is friendly and we had no problems with anything. It was a great to be back at Dauphin Island and enjoying the time there. This was our first time to stay on the East end of the island and we were happy with our location and access to the beach. Nice stay.... I ended up staying an extra night!

We had a wonderful time on Dauphin Island. The house was perfectly decorated for the Beach. Everything was clean and in its place. We had the pool right behind us, or could walk to the private Beach from the condo carrying our things, not a long walk at all. The kids loved the Beach and the pool right on the Beach as well. Nice white sands, beautiful weather and the Dauphins made an appearance everyday. Will be coming back.

Such a beautiful place very clean and had all we needed! Looked just like the pictures! We loved it and would come back!

We absolutely loved our stay and plan to be back. The place was clean and perfect location to pools and the private access beach. The property manager was kind and friendly. Only issue we had was Vacasa giving us the wrong gate entrance code. We then walked past the gate and ground the correct code written on the office door.

This condo was perfect for our 5 person family. Being able to walk to the beach and having the pools close was an added pleasure. The first pool can be viewed from the balcony for watching kids swim and the second is on the beach. I only wish they would have left trash bags for when we filled the ones they left in the cans. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, silverware, cups, utensiles, pots and pans. There isn't much to eat on the island so bring food.

We had a good time, but had a tropical storm.

Beautiful setting, peaceful and relaxing.

Only issue was a smaller than expected sandy beach from storm erosion. Vacasa staff and SandCastle Property managers were professional and helpful. The pools, boardwalks and landscaping are well maintained,

The condo itself was very clean, with updated decor and well stocked with everything we needed. The pool was right outside our until, and a short walk beought us to the beach area. Unfortunately, the gate code we were given by vacasa did not work and we were stuck outside the gates of the complex at 9pm in the rain after a long drive. We tried contacting vacasa through every number, email, text we were given and could not get a person to help us. I sat on hold for 30 min with no answer. My husband walked around the property in the rain, until we finally found a sign inside the property manager's office with the correct gate code. We finally got a response from Vacasa around 9am the next day. But for this reason I would not recommend booking through vacasa, and have never had an experiece where the rental company was completely unreachable, although the condo and property itself was very nice.
