What a great accommodation and location. We liked Fare Noanoa so much we stayed here two times on our trip to French Polynesia. The first time was for 8 nights before heading off to visit other islands and the second time for 2 nights before returning home. Fare Noanoa was as advertised and the photos were accurate. The location was perfect for us and we loved that there were only 3 units on this property and the owners live right on site. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable we had on our 4 week trip. There are dogs barking and roosters crowing in the neighborhood, but it wasn't too bad and that is a sound we could hear all over the islands not matter where we were. Mahana beach and park was a short walk away and the snorkeling here was quite good. This park also had decent toilets and good showers for after swimming. There were quite a few large coral heads and we saw some rays and a couple small black tip reef sharks. There are small fish but not many larger ones. Lani's BBQ and Grill only takes a few minutes to walk to and had very good food at fairly reasonable prices. The fish burgers were excellent. There are also two small grocery stores nearby, Happy Market had the best selection if you don't want to drive into Papeete. Make sure to buy some of the tiny pineapples, they are so sweet. We felt safe in this neighborhood and enjoyed our walks around the area. We caught the bus into town one day but one definitely needs a car to really enjoy the sites on Tahiti. Make sure to drive around and enjoy the whole island. If we ever returned to Tahiti we would definitely consider staying here again.

The only negative for us were the slippery tiles on the step and deck. It looks beautiful but when it gets wet it is treacherous. With rain showers and wet swimming items it's hard to keep this area dry so do be careful.

Fare Noa Noa is about 20km outside of Papeete in a safe and quite neighborhood. It is new, clean, and has everything you need for a few days of vacation. We had a small kitchenette, AC, and the host left beach towels, snorkel equipment, and a large umbrella for our use. There was good communication with the hosts. There is a lovely beach with snorkeling only about 200 m away. Restaurants and stores are also close. We recommend Lani’s BBQ and Roulette Chez Anita for dinner. You really need a car for this location… really for the whole island.

There are a few neighborhood chickens and roosters that help you greet each morning. That, I believe, will be a common denominator everywhere you stay on the island. The roosters are a reminder to take advantage of the cooler morning air.

Not only was the property and location spectacular, but Mael who runs the place was so hospitable and lovely. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This accommodation was awesome and if we ever come to Tahiti again we would definitely book Fare Noanoa. Its just a short walk to an awesome beach, has lovely rooms with fan and air com, friendly and helpful hosts and several good restaurants close by. Just loved it.

We have been in French Polynesia for two weeks and have stayed in three different accomodations. One was fare Noanoa, the other was a luxury yacht and, the final accomodation, The Intercontinental Tahiti Hotel is commonly known as the best hotel in Tahiti. Well, we have to disagree....fare Noanoa is by far the best accomodation we have stayed in while on land in Tahiti. The fare NoaNoa property is COMPLETELY updated throughout the bungalow with all the modern conveniences anyone could want. It is clean, beautiful, safe, convenient and an amazing value for what you get. Maël made us feel very welcomed and he was a lovely host. A couple of days he surprised us with fresh fruit from the garden and he even pressed sugar cane for us and mixed it with lime to create a delicious and refreshing beverage.We were also able to schedule an excellent couples massage with Maël, it was wonderful and took place on property. Fare NoaNoa sits on a lovely gated property filled with fruit trees and a nice view of the mountains. It comes with snorkeling gear, umbrella, nice toiletries, coffee, sugar, air-conditioning, blowdryer, iron, ironing board, etc. It is also very close to the Mahana Park Beach and Lagoon which is rocky but has lots of beautiful fish for great snorkeling! Also several restaurants and a couple of supermarkets are close by so you can easily walk it drive to them. We highly recommend Lani's BBQ and the Happy Market when staying at Fare NoaNoa. We did not rent a car during our 4 days at Fare NoaNoa, we just walked which was great, however be advised, there aren't any sidewalks in many places so you will end up walking in the bike lane. Compared to the Intercontinental Hotel we stayed at in Tahiti, fare NoaNoa is the best by far and we would stay there again in a heartbeat!!! Additionally, fare NoaNoa only costs around $75/night whereas the Intercontinental Hotel costs $550/night. HUGE difference.

The only thing we did not like is that although there were bath towels, hand towels and beach towels, there were no washcloths provided.

The place is great and has a nice atmosphere, close to a great beach to snorkel, supermarket and restaurant. I had an excellent time staying there.

Well eqipped facility. Attention to detail for what was provided was exceptional.

Tap in hand basin in bathroom - hard to turn on & regulate temperature. Would be useful to have a small sharp kitchen knife provided.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Snorkeling equipment available. Umbrella available which was very useful with all the rain during our stay. Mael was very helpful. He even came to the fire station at 2am when we were lost and could not find his street!

It would be helpful to have a suitcase stand or something to put an open suitcase on.

It was beautiful! Host was very nice. He helped us with recommendations of local places to eat that were delicious.

I had an amazing stay at Fare noanoa! Mael and Yumiko are absolutely wonderful hosts that go above and beyond. Any questions or concerns I had, they were able to help. The guesthouse is in a great location - you can easily walk to a nearby beach, a sacred site (Marae Ta'ata) and a few places to eat. The guesthouse also comes with a parking spot if you rent a car while you're on the island (which I do recommend - walking or taking the bus is possible but not always timely or easy). It was also very easy to arrange a shuttle to/from the airport and ferry with Mael (ask ahead of time!) and I'm so glad I requested dinner on Sunday/Monday - Yumiko is a fantastic chef! Highly recommend. The room also comes with a little kitchenette if you want to have your own food. One thing to note - if you are a light sleeper and like to sleep in, I recommend bringing earplugs ;) Since you are staying in a village, you will be waking up with a natural alarm clock of nearby roosters. I actually loved waking up early with the sun but I know some people might not enjoy so just be aware! Overall, I had an excellent stay and would definitely stay here again if I come back to Tahiti! The facilities are very good, a lot of small details are present and make you fell welcome. The location is good and easy to reach. The best nevertheless are the hosts, friendly, supportive and providing good tips. The first night we arrived late so Mael just took us to a food truck for a quick bite, great selection, next evening we just had dinner in the room, the dinner was prepared by his wife and was very good too. In the end a great experience, I highly recommend this location.
