Very welcoming host, Friendly and couldn't have done more to ensure we had a great stay. Central location, only a 5/10 minute walk to the main town. Had everything we needed for a short break, we could have stayed longer and been comfortable. We will be staying again the next time we are in town for sure.

The venue is above a private hire function room, this didn't bother us at all but know some people would have an issue with it. The host Ben was very forthcoming about a couple of parties that had been booked in for the weekend we stayed and that music would more than likely be heard until 11.30-12PM. Like I say this didn't affect us at all and will most certainly be staying here again in the near future.

We stayed here after a gig in town was in a perfect location only a short walk away from the town centre. It's a lovely spacious apartment with everything you could need.

WARNING: ACCOMMODATION HAS NO NOISE SHIELDING AND IS ABOVE A PARTY VENUE ON A BUSY MAIN ROAD. If you plan to stay here - especially over a weekend - buy earplugs and/or plan to stay out. Best thing: easy accessibility to the city centre. Positives: microwave, washing machine, good TV options and two toilets. These are fundamentally outweighed by the noise pollution. I cannot overstate how badly the Friday night party downstairs impacted us, especially as this was our last night before an early check out.

The Function Rooms immediately below the apartment blast loud music at weekends (til after midnight) which we could physically feel as well as hear. As a Listed building, there is no double glazing: the windows provided no barrier against the roar of traffic or partying. The presence of the Function Rooms was news to us because they were not openly listed in the main information when we booked. We eventually found an advisory about the venue/weekend events hidden in the Host Details, which is an unexpected/improper place to advise about such a significant factor.

Lovely property, great location. A few minutes walk to the centre.

Minor stuff. Could have done with a few more towels and more coffee and tea but there was a shop at the bottom of the hill.

Nice spacious apartment, pleasantly decorated and good facilities. Great location for access to the town. Very friendly and helpful host.

Mattress on the double bed was uncomfortable but we expected that as it had been mentioned in several other reviews of the property.

The beds were a disgrace. They are old an totally unserviceable. I believe that they are cheap and totally unsuitable for continual use by rotating clients. The bedding was cheap and very uncomfortable

Amazing beautiful Tudor apartment. Literal 5 min walk to centre of Colchester and Castle park. Owner Benjamin welcomed us and was amazingly friendly and gave us loads of info of where to eat, drink, hear live music.

Character flat, clean and stylish. Comfortable mattresses and sofa. Excellent location. Amazing host - friendly efficient and knowledgeable about the area. We had a lovely stay.

Next to a very noisy road, difficult to sleep without ear plugs. Steep spiral staircase - challenging with small children. Not enough pans and pots so wasn't easy to cook and no dishwasher. No wardrobe in downstairs bedroom and drawers don't open and close easily. Could do with more pillows.
