Construite en 1884 et soigneusement rénovée en 2016, cette maison historique de Fort Bragg allie parfaitement le confort de la vie moderne au charme victorien de l'ancienne côte nord de la Californie. Cette belle maison historique se trouve à quelques pas de la plage de MacKerricher State Park, offrant quatre belles chambres (dont deux suites principales), une vaste terrasse avec un gril à gaz privé, des téléviseurs intelligents dans chaque chambre et une cuisine rénovée avec des armoires personnalisées récupérées à partir de le séquoia qui ornait la maison d'origine.

We came here for a long weekend last year, and we liked it so much that we came back a year after.
The house is well equipped, close to many natural amenities and also close to town.

We really enjoyed this house. It was well stocked, soaps, towels, etc. couldn’t find a washcloth for the kitchen, but paper towels did the trick along with the sponge and dish towel. Cooking here was awesome, plenty of kitchen supplies.no heat nor air conditioning but we really didn’t need it. Will look forward to coming back.

The property was perfect for our needs. The only thing we were disappointed in was we couldn’t enjoy the propane for pit due to empty tank.

We had a great get away. The house is warm and inviting and decorated mermaid, beach adoringly! Well equipped and very comfortable. Would definitely rent it again.

Wonderful stay
Great property and great location. We loved being able to walk to the beach and to town every day. The house was amazing and the hot tub and fire pit were bonuses. The little store almost next door was a nice surprise to be able grab a few things we forgot!

We relaxed in the Hot tub and made a yummy dinner in the kitchen and the kitchen was nicely stocked and had everything we needed . Love the decor of the quaint home .

Beautiful home
This home was perfect for our two families with four kids. The home had everything we could have asked for. However there was no heating which made for a very uncomfortable stay. The Vacassa team was quick to respond however the space heaters provided minimal heat to keep everyone comfortable.

Girls trip
This is our yearly girls trip to the coast. Our usual house was not available at the last minute and this home saved the day! Plenty of space and very well equipped. We had a wonderful time!

Marvelous Mermaid Manor
This property is just perfect! It’s cozy, adorable, conveniently located to everything and our family would come back again and again. As our little granddaughter said, “Gigi, can we live here forever?” Highly recommend staying here with the mermaids if you can!

Perfect for a Mom's getaway
All six Mom's I brought here for a weekend away from the kiddos LOVED this house. It is very well situated in the area, it has the best kitchen supplies of any house I have ever rented, and it has a great table and perfect gathering spaces inside and out. We were also very pleased by the amazing decor of Mermaid Manor. Thank you for renting us this home.

Mermaid Property
It was an old house but the inside was renovated beautifully. Glass beach was quite a disappointment though. The rest of the coastline was scenic and beautiful.

The perfect rental near the beach
This home is well maintained and loved. The beds are very comfortable and furnished with high quality linens. The home is decorated with an ocean beachy theme and is beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the location is so close to the beach. There was plenty of room to relax, cook, and make family memories. We enjoyed the front porch and side patio for relaxing. We felt safe, and it was easy to access entry. We will definitely be back to visit again.

Mermaid Manor is fabulous!
This is our second stay here. The house looks small from the outside, but accommodated our 3 generation family easily. The owners have generously provided everything we needed. For example, there are really nice insulated cups with sippy lids for the little ones - not just a few - lots of them! The kitchen is generously equipped with attractive dishes and glassware. There is a great big dining table for meals. The fam really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit in the back yard. The house is old, but beautifully remodeled. The heart redwood from the house was refashioned into gorgeous cabinetry and doors. Everything was done tastefully and it's a pleasure to be here.

Great house
The house is big, has a spacious yard with a hot tub and there are horses behind the house. Downstairs master has a super comfortable bed. Loved being able to walk to the State Park and the beach, and only a few minutes away from downtown. Restaurant next door is only good for drinks, food was questionable. Overall we loved staying here and had a great girls weekend.

Wonderful stay
The mermaid house is decorated beautifully. The beds were very comfortable with super soft linens. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was more than enough room to host a large family dinner. Loved this home!

Wonderful
Stayed here for 5 days with our kids, 7 of us total, plenty of space. This was a beautiful home with great amenities. We had an issue with the alarm for part of our stay, but had great communication with management and were graciously compensated for the inconvenience. We'd definitely stay here again!

We had a really great time! The house is really close to MacKerricher state park. The house was really nice and beds were comfy. Only negative was that there were a lot of ants. But I would stay here again!

Delightful house
This house is full of cozy amenities, creativity, and charm. There is a very nice, sheltered deck area that we weren't able to use, due to weather, but it would be a big asset if it weren't raining. The house easily accommodated 5 adults and two children. Every surface is new inside - it must have been gutted before the remodel. We love the fact that beautiful redwood from the original interior was refashioned into gorgeous cabinetry.
The description on VRBO stated that the house was a 3 minute walk from the beach. That isn't accurate - at least not for our family. It seemed like the beach was about a mile away. The beach itself, in that spot, wasn't kid friendly. The location of the house, between a Mexican restaurant and little market was very convenient. The hot tub was greatly enjoyed. There is a bathtub in the house which isn't in any of the photos. The beds are comfortable.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly home with easy access to McKerricher State Park or the beach, this home is amazing. The fully renovated interior is beautiful - every room is tastefully decorated with adorable nautical elements and completely modernized.
A few things to keep in mind: it is an older home located right off of Highway 1, so the rooms that are located at the front of the house will be subject to traffic noise. Ear plugs and white noise made a huge difference to our enjoyment of those rooms.
We also found that water from the tap had a metallic taste & odor. There is a water filter in the refrigerator for drinking water so that’s not an issue but it was initially disconcerting when showering.
Overall we LOVED this home, it’s location, layout and decor. We would totally stay here again!

Lovely Beach Home!
This house is so charming and beautifully remodeled. The kitchen is fully stocked with every tool we needed for cooking. We walked to the beach, approx 1/2 mile or so. The nearby Mexican restaurant was also convenient. We wished we could have stayed longer in this sweet home.
Things you may want to be aware of:
The lock boxes for the keys are difficult to use, or at least they were for us.
There are other people living on the property in a separate home. There is no privacy in the backyard. This was not an issue for us but might be for others.
The only low rating was for Vacasa, which I found to be completely unresponsive to my emailed questions. I did appreciate their timely and thorough text reminders.

Lovely place
I had a really challenging time finding it as the address is not where Google maps says it is. Just FYI it is two houses south of the Cleone grocery store not near the Cleone Gardens where Google maps says it is. With that said, once we got there we had a lovely time. It’s a beautiful property and a great location.

The house is perfect. So beautiful and perfectly decorated. We had a wonderful time the hot tub felt so wonderful. The back yard is beautiful wonderful fire pit with plenty of wood. Mermaid Manor Experience
The mermaid manor was the perfect home away from home. It catered to small children as well as adults and had everything you could need while on vacation. The renovation on this beach house beauty is phenomenal and inspired me to think about revamping my own home. You could tell the owners really put a lot of thought into this beach house down to every last detail. We will definitely be back!

Perfect for Girlfriend Getaway
Four of us stayed for three nights and had an absolutely great time. The house was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was a cook’s dream. We loved all the extra touches including a charging stations, wine fridge, reading glasses, Keurig coffee maker and lots of soft throws to use when hanging out in the living room. We enjoyed walking to the beach through the state park and found it easy to drive to Mendocino. Perfect for a group or family get-away!
