it was very clean, tidy & spacious. the location was great, the working farm at the end of the driveway provided lots of entertainment for our son. it was a 10 min drive to Derby. the beds were very comfortable. we would stay here again

The key box is very hard to open. There is a hole in the floor in the corridor near the bathroom ( rotten floor boards), this is dangerous.

Historic house in a beautiful location in the dairy country above Derby. Great views and both kinds of mobile reception. Contrary to various online descriptions, there were two tvs - and everything else you’d need. Including a water filter (it’s a little discoloured out of the tap).

If you’re there for the riding, it’s a little removed from the action. Don’t expect a bridge over the river on Derby Station Road. Map apps suggest it’s there - it’s not, and there’s no connection to the mtb trails on that side of the river so you’ve got to go down Derby Back Road and along the Branxholm link trail. We ended up driving the ~6km into town each day (mainly because of the climb at day’s end). The 200m farm road to the house got a little slimy after big rain.
