I grew up 4 blocks from the Classy Craftsman so I knew it would be the perfect location. It's very walkable to most things in Arcata, including my two favorite restaurants: Wildflower Cafe and Los Bagels. From the front porch you can see the parking lot of a great grocery store that has a coffee shop, bakery, juice bar, deli, etc inside. The interior of the house (furniture and area rugs) has not been updated in a very long time and provides an stagnant odor but luckily the weather was nice enough to keep the windows open and with some lavender spray I didn't notice it much after the first day. The house in bigger than it looks in the photos. The bedrooms are large and each have big closets. The bathrooms are nicely updated. The kitchen was very well stocked with nice quality cookware and fun dishes and glassware that seems to be from the original owner. The house is built with lovely old growth and although it is at the corner of one of the busiest intersections in town, I heard no street traffic at all. I look forward to staying there again.

This house is adorable and is perfectly located. It's close to the university, the plaza, the beaches, Eureka and Trinidad. It was very very clean and including the basics like laundry soap and dishwashing/dishwasher soap was a thoughtful touch. Loved the hot tub and sauna. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We came back to the Classy Craftsman for our 3rd time. This time unfortunately the home felt run down. There were a few flies in the home , pealing paint in the kitchen , the fireplace didn’t work and there was an over all musty odor.
They have replaced the oven which was a lovely upgrade! The location is outstanding. It is a spacious home! Walking distance to downtown and a beautiful market! We loved it enough to come back 3 times just this time the home felt neglected. I feel bad saying these negative things yet I feel it’s important to share the facts as I see them.
Nothing is perfect rite? It needs a deep cleaning top to bottom and I’m sure it will be back to 5 stars!

This home shouldn’t be occupied. There is terrible smell that overwhelms the entire home. All my belongings now reek and I’m still having trouble breathing after leaving. Asked for a refund due to my concern and it was not even considered by Vacasa. The hot tub is STILL surrounded by mold on the ceiling and on its cover. It also never got hot. The shower(s) floor(s) weren’t cleaned properly. Home needs dusting in some areas and the washer has an odor. Very disappointing. I expected much more based off the reviews! I would have to rate this a 0 out of 5 based off the extreme odor and the mold.

The house is spacious and comfortable, close to the Redwood Community Park, beaches, HSU, downtown Arcata. We enjoyed the Hot Tub and Sauna after hiking and walks on the beach. The fireplace made it very warm and cozy for relaxing in the evenings. My grandsons appreciated the more than adequate WiFi! Definitely would rent again!

So many ways to warm up after playing outside! Great central location for many of the regional highlights, as well as visiting campus. Well stocked kitchen with all the essentials. No-hassle procedures for arrival and departure. Like the title says - clean, easy, convenient.

We chose this property for the 2 bedroom/2 baths feature and its location, getting 3 bedrooms, sauna , hot tub, kitchen, washer/dryer, barbecue and spotless clean . A minor problem with hot tub temperature was responded to immediately and fixed within a few hours: service with a smile ! Recommended and considering it fir next year if the timing works .

I've never left a review for an a house, but we loved the house so much. Lived in Arcata for 5 five years in the early 2000's. Decided to go back with our young kids and this was perfect for us. If permitted (its not), you can fit probably 8+ people in the house for a week to give you a scope of size. Size is larger than anticipated, kitchen is much better than most homes in Arcata, yard was great, playroom was an added bonus that kept the kids entertained. Hot Tub / Sauna if thats your thing.
The location is as good as you'll find in Arcata and the house is loaded with charm. You can walk to the restaurants within 5 minutes, 1 minute walk to a grocery store, a few minute walk to 2 movie theaters and your centralized as it relates to driving: 5 min drive to forests, 45 min south to Ave of the Giants, 1 hour east to the river, 45 minutes north to fern canyon, 20 minutes north to Trinidad with amazing beaches and hikes, etc..
When we go back up, we're going to try and prioritize this home again.

We had a great stay at the Classy Craftsman in Arcata. The house has a great combination of original (ovens, cabinets, counters) and updated (floors, fridge, dishwasher) throughout that work well together. We found it to have everything we needed (with the exception of an extra blanket or two for watching a movie on the couch in the evenings). We loved coming back to the fireplace after being out hiking all day. The hot tub and sauna were great too. The location was convenient to the coast and the Redwood state/national parks. It's in town so there are grocery stores, restaurants, etc. close by too.

I rented this house for the second time for a weekend in August 2022. It was clean and furnished as expected, I rented it previously in February of 2017. It’s a bit more run down as expected but had a nice new big tv in the master. The hot tub smelled but everything else was very clean. I would probably stay here again.

I chose this for its location (convenient to freeway and ease of walking downtown) and the wonderful Craftsman details! I was not disappointed with my choice! (The 60’s kitchen, with upgrade copper drawers, pink oven and matching dishes were a hit too!) The house is well appointed both in furniture and kitchen wares, plus laundry facilities and jacuzzi/sauna. I would definitely consider it again (checking my calendar!😉)

The property was exactly as advertised! It was easy to find, easy to walk to downtown and the shops, restaurants and theaters. Great parking and although it is on a surprisingly busy street on one side the backyard, decks, and rooms all made it feel very private. VACASA was very easy to work with (it was our first time with them) and the property was everything it promised. It is also an easy walk to Humboldt State (which is beautiful by the way) and this is a great base of operations if you want to take day trips into the Redwoods for hiking (which are also beautiful!). I would definitely recommend this property.

Excellent Location to Attend Graduation
We had a great time and the property offered the perfect location for the family in town to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Cal Poly Humbolt. We walked to the grocery store multiple times, to the square to eat and hang out, and even to the graduation ceremony. The house was clean, updated in the right areas and met all our needs. We cooked dinner one night and it had all the basics which is great. Overall, we had a great time.

Great Place!
We rented the house for a week while we visited our son who lives one block away. It was so convenient to walk to the store and restaurants. The house was very clean and the master bedroom was extremely comfortable. We only used the one bedroom, but I’m guessing the others were just as comfortable. The kitchen had pretty much everything you might need or could at least make do with. I had to get creative making scrambled eggs and they only had 2 wine glasses. Lots of little touches were nice like personal soaps, cleaning supplies, lots of paper supplies, and towels for the hot tub in addition to bath towels. We used the hot tub a couple times, but never used the sauna. We were told there was no grill, but a new looking one was in the yard. Having the garage was great, we brought our mountain bikes so it was a secure place to keep them. The furniture was comfortable for visiting with our son and his girlfriend. We didn’t watch much tv, but tried to use Netflix a couple times and it was really glitchy. Overall, we were extremely pleased and would rent it again without hesitation.

This house is in a great location- just a block away from a nice grocery store, and easy walking to many other food and entertainment places. The house is large, beautiful and comfortable- good beds, warm, plenty of towels, etc. the house is spacious-cozy for gathering together in the living room or dining room, or spreading out, to play a board game or read a book. Very comfortable house!

Had a great time. Nice cozy home to come back to after sightseeing. Loved having the fireplace in the winter. Plenty of room. People were very receptive and fixed right away when hot tub did not heat up properly first night. Beds were comfortable. And we loved all the things to see. Had a great time!

Perfect spot in Arcata
It was an excellent property and experience. The property was extremely clean and had all the amenities we needed. The jacuzzi and sauna were easy to operate and in good working condition. The gas fireplace/heater was a great feature to gather around. The beds were a little firm. I'd say an 8/10 on firmness. My friend loved the foosball table and game room.

Just what we needed.
My grown children and their spouses joined me to celebrate my husband’s life. Joyous but also very difficult time for us. This house had everything we needed, plenty of space to be alone yet cozy for dining and watching a movie. Sauna and hot tub were amazing. Manager quick to respond to questions.. As an added bonus, everything we wanted to do was within walking distance.
