This home features two bright and airy living room areas. We loved having two conversation areas since kids could be playing a game in one while adults visited in the other. They can be open or closed. The kitchen opens to a big dining area and is well equipped for big family meals. We needed a few more chairs so we used our foldable ones to seat everyone in our big group Big laundry machines are in the very old basement. It was easy to walk to a terrific ice cream shop and the splash pad. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. We had 9 people in our group and would gladly stay at this historical home again. The owner quickly responded as needed.

We had family in and exploring Chattanooga (some for the first time). This was a GREAT place - we only wish we had more time to spend at the house. Charming place and a great neighborhood. It was perfect for what we needed and we will be back to stay. This will be our first choice!
It was super hot out - in the mid-90's and the A/C worked great - sometimes a toss up in an older home. The home was comfortable for the 6 of us. Kitchen had a nice assortment of items to use. I would point out it is a traditional coffee maker - its nice to know ahead so you can bring coffee with you.
We enjoyed the deck outside for early morning coffee - didn't have time to use the hot tub - maybe next trip.

Great place for a family weekend trip. We enjoyed our stay. The house is an old house, but they have done a great job of updating it. It was clean and comfortable. The back deck had a lot of tree debris and the hot tub was a little green so we didn’t get in it, but we enjoyed the house and fire pit. Also, it is too far up a steep mountain/hill to walk to town and the park, but it’s within 5 miles from everything you need or want.

There is only one bathroom on the first floor and is in a bedroom, which is not ideal, but did not pose a problem with us. We loved the sunroom especially. Great spot for coffee or just conversation or reading. We would definitely book this place again.

For two nights along our road trip, we stopped to see Chattanooga and this historic home was perfect. Exactly as pictured and with incredible charm. Comfortable beds, clean and wonderful kitchen with everything you could need in it. We visited Ruby Falls and the Aquarium - easy access. Owner is available if needed.

Lovely but…
While charming, does not provide good footing for seniors nor enough bathroom access. I guess I missed the part about bathroom downstairs only via a bedroom. The bath is a half bath size. That downstairs bathroom also needs a deep clean.

Perfect destination
The cozy cottage on Colville is a must stay- it’s so warm and inviting as soon as you see it! Love the home and how it’s decorated- great kitchen- the patio with the fire pit is a perfect setting - we’ve stayed there twice now and looking forward to our next visit- just so convenient to the Northshore and downtown!

Cute house, close to downtown!
Cute and unique house, close to Downtown.. Large up to date kitchen. Small den could accommodate 4 people, 6 max. One bathroom downstairs and one bathroom upstairs. Fine for 4-6 adults. We spent alot of time on the back deck with the gas fireplace. Very nice! Disappointed that the hot tub was not working.

Thanksgiving 2021
Nice and spacious house. Deck and fire pit were very nice. Our family enjoyed sitting in the sunroom and grandson loved watching the birds and squirrels. The fireplace in the living room was great for the cool nights. There is only a shower in the downstairs bathroom, so if you are looking to enjoy a nice soak, the only tub is upstairs. Also, if you need to do laundry on your trip, it is located in the unfinished basement.

Not as good as last time
We have stayed here before and it has been great. This year was a little different. There where a ton of roaches on the porch (every night we sat out by the fire we had to keep our feet up because so many are running around). The hot tub stopped working after the first night...found out as we were leaving that it was the breaker. And one of the beds was missing its sheet so we had to go into the basement to find bedding. Not the worst stay but it could have been better.

Overnight stops to and from Disney
This charming home full of character was perfect for our group of 9. Our young kids loved exploring the house and there was plenty of room for everyone. The deck was perfect for entertaining though there were a lot of mosquitoes around. The owner was extremely easy to work with and very responsive. We felt welcome and at home. Chattanooga is a beautiful city in a wonderful region and this home is in a perfect location to explore the area.

Great Stay in Chattanooga’s Northshore
The property is a beautiful older home, that has many updates. We were in town for my daughter’s wedding. The size of the house allowed us to host a bridal luncheon the day before the wedding and to have both my wife’s immediate family and my immediate family over to hang-out everyday. The outdoor deck was incredible, We spent a lot of time enjoying the fire pit and sitting outside during the evenings.

Overall Great Stay
The owner of the property was fantastic! He checked in with us to see if we had arrived and again the next morning. The house was beautiful with tons of character. The kitchen was stunning and our favorite place to hang out. The hot tub was not treated before our stay so the water was not the best. The supplies in the house were a little lacking but we made do. Overall it was a great stay in a quiet neighborhood close to everything.

Beyond charming
My family and I were thrilled to have found this treasure for our trip to Chattanooga. The home was very comfortable for our party of six. Spacious living areas allowed us to spread out and the furnishings were quite comfortable. The former porch, which is now closed in and surrounded by windows on two sides was a place I could have curled up with a good book and read in for days. The kitchen was beautifully appointed and while we typically enjoy dining out, it begged to host a sit down meal which we enjoyed as a family on the expansive dining table. As an Interior Decorator, I found the thoughtful details touching — framed tiles from the original kitchen, the original plat survey framed and hung in an upstairs bedroom, the retention of the original brick chimney stack and vintage accessories placed the perfect final touch on the space. Denny, the owner, was so gracious to check in with us a couple of times to make certain we were comfortable and that the home met our needs. We would love to return for a longer stay next time. It is mere blocks from the gems of the city of Chattanooga!

Perfect Location + Lots of Charm
So we actually checked in as the really bad review was posted - which made me extremely nervous. With that being said we had no issues and everyone LOVED the house. The neighborhood is set away enough to feel at peace - but close enough that you go downhill and boom you're across the pedestrian bridge and in Downtown. The home has a lot of older charm but all the upgraded necessities needed for your stay. We spent majority of the time getting carry out and enjoying it around the back porch firepit. I really loved the little touches in the decor + night lights to get around easy late or in the early morning. We will definitely be staying again if we're in the area. Beautiful home, beautiful area.

BEWARE !!! DO NOT BOOK !!!
When we arrived the house cleaner was in the shower and her dog was on a bed. There were dirty dishes in the sink ! The owner knew there were pest problems and did not reveal that information as the exterminator walked in the house to spray while we were eating. We had to vacate this property at 12:48 am due to a horrible roach infestation. We were on the sidewalk at 1am in pajamas looking for a place to stay. The owner has refused to give us our full refund and we are having to go thru our attorney. I have dozens of videos and pics of the infestation!!! DONT STAY HERE !!!!

Short Stay in a Beautiful Home
Denny's home is so cozy but spacious! The back deck is delightful. Such nice ambiance. Our only surprise was the master bath is adjacent to the deck and there is limited privacy. It threw some members of my party off, but the multiple water outlets and pressure more than made up for it! The area is so pretty and feels really safe. We could walk to the downtown area for shopping and snacks. So lovely!
