This rental was wonderful. It’s a renovated home converted to three units, plus the one we stayed in - a 1 br over the garage. I initially thought we would be in the unit on top of the main house, but it didn’t really matter. The photos online match the inside of the unit perfectly. It’s freshly redone, and very comfortable! We lived in SLO for 30 years before moving to wine country in 2012 so I am familiar with Avila. I was a little worried that it could be very noisy at night with young people coming and going from restaurants and bars, but that did not happen at all! I was nice and quiet at night. The fog was in mornings and evenings, and there was a nice sea breeze. Front street is a block down hill, right where all the Front Street shops and restaurants start. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you're dreaming of a beach escape or a college visit that combines convenience and space, look no further! Our recent stay at this beachside rental was nothing short of fantastic.Located in a prime spot by the beach, it was a breeze to step out and feel the sand between our toes within minutes or grab coffee in the morning. The property itself was clean, reflecting a high standard of maintenance and care.One of the highlights was the abundance of space. Whether lounging in the living area or unwinding on the balcony there was ample room for everyone to relax.The thoughtful touch of providing a beach towel was much appreciated, adding a touch of luxury to our beach outings. However, the only thing missing was beach chairs for use. It would have been the cherry on top for those lazy afternoons by the shore.Nevertheless, this minor detail didn't detract from our overall enjoyment. We'll be booking this rental again for our next college visit (but I might call the rental company and see if they have any chairs prior to arrival).

Reviewer Comments: IT WAS GREAT AS ALWAYS, THE UNIT WAS VERY CLEAN, UPDATED AND GOOD LOCATION! THE GIFT OF THE TOWEL AS A TOKEN TO REMEMBER WAS AN AWESOME TOUCH AND WE WILL DEFINITELY USE IT!THE ONLY REQUEST I WOULD LIKE TO SEE CHANGED IS THE CHECKOUT TIME, WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A NOON CHECKOUT, THAT LAST MORNING ALWAYS GOES SO FAST AND THE EXTRA HOUR WOULD BE APPRECIATED, ESPECIALLY IS NOONE IS COMING IN THE NEXT DAY.THANK YOU,CYNTHIA NAVARRO

Loved that it was literally a min walk down to the beach (quiet beach). The apartment was clean, spacious feeling although it was really tiny. The shower was amazing and was my favorite part of the house. I also really appreciated that there was laundry facility there. Check in…it’s electronic keylock so don’t drive to the property management property like it says on contract. That electronic keypad was not good…we got it to work 60% of the time. Several things would have make it a 5 star for me and they are included in the recommended list below. 1. Bring your own (BYO) pillows & sheets. The ones there were fluffy, hard and so high! The spare were deflated and didn’t feel like pillows. I ran to Costco to buy pillows. The sheets they used during my stay was a cheap Costco sheet and it did not breathe well. I run hot and although the window was open heat radiated from the bed and I couldn’t sleep. 2. BYO beach towels and equipment. I would have loved to use some of “their” beach equipment like chairs and beach toys but none available. They did provide one beach towel to keep which was nice. 3. BYO oil, seasoning if you plan to cook. There is none there from other guests. 4. Don’t expect much from the view. While it is nice there is no space except to stand there and look. Not really a place to sit and enjoy despite presence of 2 stools. 5. The cushion on pullout could use a replacement. My teen slept on it and mentioned it was mixed for him.

Perfect condo for my husband and I. Walking distance to the beach, local shopping and restaurants. In my opinion the condo is perfect. The square footage is exactly were I want it, in the living areas and bathroom and just the right amount in the bedroom with plenty of storage in the built in closet. This is our second time staying here and love the added window which gives a view of the Avila cove. I highly recommend this light and airy condo.
