It’s very swanky considering it’s Bangladesh

Firstly I was told by the concierge that had I booked directly, I would have saved £68.00 and would have had breakfast included. I’m not impressed that Booking.com made such a mark up on me. Secondly I paid 140 Tk for two people to dine in the buffet restaurant and was left underwhelmed by the quality of the food. Thirdly the hotel room had mosquito’s which had their fill of my business partner & I. We are riddled with bites and considering how high up we were, I’m confused as to why this is an issue? I would summarise this hotel as having style over substance.

The staff were wonderful, very helpful for all our requests. We really appreciate the good supply of drinking water in our rooms. Great location. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice and freshly prepared eggs, pancakes and dosa's. Coffee and pizzas were great from the ground floor cafe Gulshan Baking Company. Sear bar is a lovely space serving nice cocktails. We missed the jazz music, but prefer the quiet. Thank you to all the staff who looked after us, especially Munni.

It was a pity it was so noisy at the rooftop pool with all the honking cars from the street below (not the hotel's fault, but it did ruin the atmosphere!) Our meal in the Sear restaurant was only average, expected better. As foreigners we didn't feel comfortable walking outside the hotel in local area. Worth organising escorted shopping trips.

I loved my stay at Renaissance. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The room is amazing and the overall ambiance is very modern but warm. When you go for breakfast, the staff are very friendly and and helpful, especially Dheeman, Sanjida, Zubaire, and Pronoy. And, at the reception, I personally would like to thank Ms. Mia for helping me out during our check-in and being so nice whenever we see each other, she is very professional. Everyone looks so pleasing and will go out ifbtheir way just to provide comfort for the guests. I highly recommend this hotel when you cone to Dhaka. Thank you Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel. You were all excellent!

Service good

The hotel is located in a very central part of Gulshan, very convenient if you are just moving around that area. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of local and international cuisine. The room was clean and comfortable, but there was no bathtub but the twin room. The highlight was the staff - they were so helpful and attentive, they made the whole stay really enjoyable.

The price was definitely steep for a hotel of this scale and standard. Not saying that the hotel is bad, in fact I believe it's one of the best hotels in the area, but compared to other 5 stars hotels in other countries, the price was insanely high.

All the staff were exceptional, rooms were spacious and clean and a decent selection of TV channels. Breakfast and other meals provided a great variety of options all of which were excellent. No negatives for me will stwy here next time I'm in town.
