very beautiful cabin in the middle of the jungle.

Being immersed in nature, its a very peaceful spot. We cooked one night and had everything we needed. The little river beside the cabin is lovely and refreshing. We put up a covering on the window by the bed for extra comfort.. If felt like sometimes the builders working opposite were looking in. I would definitely stay here again

the bungalow was amazing - so beautiful and you are completely on your own. the open design (no windows or walls, just mosquito nets) gives you the feeling of sleeping ditectly in the jungle. still you got a nice bathroom, extra shower on the balcony, fully equìpped kitchen, good wifi, comfy beds and fans to keep the airflow. wouter the host was super nice and helpful throughout our stay. not much more you could wish for!

just two things to notice: if you dont have a 4x4 it might be really hard to get to the bungalow because the last bit of the road is really steep and rocky. especially when it rains i wouldnt risk it. and sadly there is roosters in the area that make it quite hard to sleep in, but thats something you have to get used to in costa rica :)

Our stay was so great! The loft is very private, we had the feeling to be alone in the world. Wouter is a great host, he made sure we had a comfortable stay. Everything had been renewed before our stay, it is SO beautiful. It’s not too far away from Uvita, but you do need a car or take a taxi to get around. We were able to observe so many animals from the loft (even a monkey one morning!!). We can say that it has set the bar very high, we were truly happy!

A few insects here and there, but we were expecting that since it’s in the jungle.

wow wow!!!! This was our first stay of our trip in Costa Rica and we were welcomed by Wouter at night. There was perfect communication with him about how to get there. We were a little afraid of the road to the house, because we read some reviews about a bad road, but they just fixed it and it was super super easy!! The place is just amazing, surounded by Jungle and a little water stream. You wake up with monkeys around you.. MAGICAL!!! I would 100% come back to this place!!

This is a great jungalow, seemingly immersed in the jungle, with total privacy, but still a 5-minute drive from a great beach (Hermosa). It is also 5-10 minutes away by car from Uvita and 15 from Dominical, with their restaurants, bars, shops etc. You can indulge in the sounds and sights of the jungle at all hours. And that's the main draw. Visiting wildlife included a big iguana lounging on a tree branch, butterflies, colourful birds, and surely more if we were able to spot them. Having a late drink in total darkness with candles, or early breakfast on the balcony was another pleasure. You can hear the soothing sound of the creek around the clock. A huge tree fell with deafening sound at the other side of the little river one night, just a few metres from the house! The spacious, comfortable, and airy cabin has all the amenities, including a full kitchen and a fridge. There is an outside shower as well as the regular bathroom. You do need a car to get to the place, although it's not that far away from the main road, and the place feels very safe. The last few hundred meters are unpaved, and the final access (50 metres or so) are very steep down and again up. The owner Wouter was absent on vacation when we rented, but he answered every question by Whatsapp before and during our stay. The friendly expat couple next door made sure we had everything we needed, and they were absolutely great. There were brochures about activities (whale watching etc), which could be organised through the owner, although we didn't try to book any. Very good wifi, but almost no phone signal in the cabin. There is also a very good Italian restaurant within walking distance, and a small residential village. All in all, Loft Del Rio feels splendidly isolated, but it isn't.

One thing that should be noted, is that the final few metres down to the cabin are very steep and unpaved. Our rented Suzuki Vitara almost didn't make it back up (although the little road was dry), and I don't know what we would do if not for the expertise of the kindly Canadian neighbour, who managed to drive it up to the tiny square. If you are reading this, sir, we are very thankful. If a visitor is not sure about his/her vehicle, better park at the square, and never drive the car down to the cabin's doorstep. It's a negligible distance to walk anyway, even with luggage. On another note, we accidently destroyed a blanket, and were charged 50 USD for it to be replaced. That's fair (although the price seemed too high), but nobody would ask for compensation for such minor damage where I come from. This would go straight to the "pura vida, these things happen, no worries" file. Our stay was fabulous, but, again, keep in mind the part about the steep final few metres of the drive to the cabin.

absolutely everything, your are surrounded by the jungle so the experience is real, Wouter is one of the best host we have ever had, friendly and helpful, the cabin is well equiped, 4x4 wheel drive is must if u wanna go directly to the cabin, but u can park at the top and walk done (100 meter)

The casa is situated in a beautiful location above the river in a jungle setting. It has all the amenities that I needed for a really comfortable stay for 3 nights. And it is close to Uvita and Playa Hermosa is just down the hill.

Make sure you have a 4x4 to get up and down the hill to the casa. It's steep.

Full immersion in the jungle.

The bugalow is amazing, built with a lot of taste and the mosquito nets walls provide an immersion experience inside the jungle, with natural sounds by night and day (bring earplugs if you don't like rooster calls and howler monkeys calls at 5am !). It's good to have your own small kitchen to make simple lunch and dinner at home. Perfect privacy. The bungalow is embedded into the plants without anybody around. Walter was a very nice and very helpful host. We had an amazing time there ! Thanks a lot!

Great accomodation hidden in the forest but close to all the amenities. Owners were great and very helpful.
