Very central location in Salisbury Town Centre; decor is fresh and well maintained; staff in reception and bar were very friendly, welcoming and helpful; Good VFM; Room and Bathroom were very comfortable. Great little find.

The upgrade was a nice touch for an extra £10. The room was a good size, comfortable, good air con/heating if a little noisy. Friendly, helpful receptionists. Free parking. Decent breakfast served by lovely staff and chef! Great location for exploring Salisbury.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent. Only used the hotel as an overnight base so did not use any of the hotels other facilities. Salisbury is a lovely city and well worth the visit.

Shortly before I was to leave for the hotel I was offered an 'upgrade' to their Lord Nelson feature room which I accepted. On arrival I found that there was a constant and intrusive deep humming noise in the room, even when the air-conditioning unit in the room was switched off. Subsequent investigation revealed the problem. The small sitting area in the room was an extension from the main hotel with a flat roof, and on this flat roof were seated at least four other functioning air-conditioning units from rooms on the ground floor. The noise from those units went staight through the flat roof into our room. Equally throughout the night there was a noise as if a heavy object had been dropped on a hard surface and then bounced twice in quick succession, sometimes seconds apart, sometimes every few minutes. What it was I don't know but I had a very disturbed night. People using this room need to be heavy sleepers or bring ear plugs.

The location was excellent. The property has lots of character and the bar is handy.

The bathroom was a bit dated in comparison to the room. It was perfectly clean though and reasonable given the price paid.

Lovely comfortable bar and plenty of choices of drinks. Our bed was very comfortable with nice pillows . The room was very clean and we had daily housekeeping.

There was no chest of drawers or wardrobe in our room , only a rail with some hangers , so we couldn’t unpack, which was alright for three nights but no longer . We had to put our case in front of the desk as there was nowhere to store it.

The old beams and the car parking was right next to my room door lovely 😊

The full English was very good, with eggs cooked to order, and the breakfast staff extremely kind and attentive. We appreciated the free whisky offered as part of a loyalty scheme.

Upon arrival, all the guests (plus luggage) had to queue in the cramped lobby to check in - which was only possible from 3 p.m. onwards - whereas surely some rooms would have been ready before then. The same staff member who initially sent us away and told us to come back at 3 p.m. manned reception and the bar, so we were not able to have a drink from the bar while we waited either. It later turned out that one of the receptionists had given us inaccurate information on the parking restrictions in front of the hotel. The parking was limited - not enough spaces for the number of guests cars. I received an email and multiple chase-up emails badgering me to upgrade my room, even after replying that this was not appropriate as I was travelling for a funeral. The room was cramped too, with barely enough space to position our luggage out of the way of the patio door.

Location was very good and rooms were pleasant and good value for money.
