One of the best experiences we’ve had with a rental house! Couldn’t be cleaner which is our number 1! The description and pics are exactly the same in person! The backyard is an oasis! The pool and hot tub were amazing!! We spent almost all day everyday out there between meals and some beach play with our pup. It’s very dog friendly house and town. Even has clean up station in the backyard. The social media team (instagram) for the sea urchin is also fabulous. Couldn’t be more helpful and sweet! Gave great suggestions for the area and any info we could possibly need on the house/yard/property itself! I would 10000% recommend this property and would return myself! We had a great time! Our fur baby says thanks for having him and making him feel spoiled and special too!!!

It’s the perfect size for a couple or small family. We love the pool and how close we are to the beach. This is our second time and looking it make this our annual rental.

We love staying here with our 2 kids and dogs! The house is sampled with only 2 bedrooms and one bath but the owner has done a good making the best of the space. Super easy walk to the beach. We love the backyard space and the front porch!

This was our second year at Sea Urchin and this house is still fantastic for our little family! The pool and backyard was pretty large for the size of the house and love the walking distance to the beach. Our daughter had a blast at the pool. We went for July 4th week and I will say it’s so much better to have a home with a pool this size than dealing with the large crowd of people at the beach. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here…you will not be disappointed! The house may be small but the backyard and pool is great!

I loved everything about this place. It was beautifully decorated, comfy with everything you could need. I loved the front porch swing and the huge shower but most of all, I loved the backyard. We were mere steps from the beach but rarely made it because of the perfect pool and yard. Thank you for a magical weekend!

This is our third time to Folly and second time staying at sea urchin. We have already booked for next summer. The house is great, feels like home, and in a great spot close to the beach and just close enough to center street. The owners and Vacasa are very communicative and helpful couldn’t feel better about our stay.

We adore The Sea Urchin! Location was perfect and having the option of the beach or a pool was fantastic. We took our spring break on Folly beach so that we could visit our freshman at CofC. Everyone - including our pups - had a great time! We will be back for sure!

Finally the perfect size a house for me, my hubby and pup. We struggle to find a home that’s pet friendly and has a fenced in backyard with 3+ bedrooms we won’t use.
This beautiful home has everything we need and more. The screened in porch is a great place to read in the shade and the pool was perfect for sunning and cooling off without the hassle of sand or beach chairs.

We had a wonderful week at the Sea Urchin! It is so clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated. The backyard is a paradise and we felt very safe having our dog there with the fenced in yard and enclosed porch. We so loved the pool and the hot tub and the proximity to the beach (and town)! We will definitely be back!

The pool and backyard really makes the Sea Urchin a 5 star getaway! The house is on the small side but it was just two of us and our pups so it worked out perfect for us. House was clean and nicely decorated. and was just a 2 minute walk to the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sea Urchin. It was great for a small family of four plus a small dog. Quick walk to the beach and neighborhood park. The backyard was a perfect spot for the family to hang out. That all being said, there are two main reasons that I took off two stars. The hot tub was not hot when we got there and after several hours of trying to get it to work and text exchanges with the company I had to reset the breaker panel every time we wanted to heat the hot tub up. And it was not always clear if it was heating up. We would have to start the process an hour or two before we wanted to get in and sometimes wouldn’t know if it was actually heating up (there are no indicators of the heat being on so you’re basically doing trial and error). This is a big deal when the main purpose you select this property (and pay the premium price) is due to the hot tub amenity. Second, the door knob on the bathroom was broken (kept falling off) and my 5 year actually old got stuck in there (door handle fell completely off). Luckily I had pliers in my car and was able to open the door without the knob. Fix these issues and the property becomes 5 stars.

First let me say that the house and location are very nice. Everything was as expected, except for the pool, which is the reason for the 3 stars. We booked the place at the end of 2021 for a Thanksgiving 2022 stay. The description mentioned a heated pool and to let Vacasa know what days you would like heat for an additional charge (very reasonable). We thought this would be great for the mild November weather at Folly Beach. About a week before the stay, I reached out to Vacasa and inquired about the heated pool and they indicated that it was no longer heated. Long story short, they asked for proof that the listing indicated a heated pool. Of course I couldn't locate any because everything is via a link which can be (and was) updated to reflect that "the pool is no longer heated". The whole family was disappointed that we didn't have a heated pool. I asked if something could be done and after a few exchanges, Vacasa just stopped responding.

The Sea Urchin was the ideal place for our family of 4, and our pup. The location was not only conveniently located just a short walk to the beach, but the pool and backyard overall was the perfect relaxing oasis. The closed in porch also made it easy for us, especially the kids and pup, to enjoy watching traffic go by. The only very minor thing I would have liked was more drawer space in the master bedroom, but it was not a big deal overall! We would definitely love to come back and stay again sometime.

Great getaway cottage. Location and proximity to the beach was perfect. Whimsical beach decor and backyard with pool and spa were ideal. Great fenced in yard and porch. Very relaxing time spent post beach in backyard haven.
I would recommend a bit of investment in property maintenance. We did experience a few issues during our stay. The Vacasa team was quick to address. Understandably it was peak season, but a few of the issues were indeed noted weeks prior in reviews and should have been rectified before our visit.

Sea Urchin/Folly Beach house
Pluses: The house is tiny but very cute, dog friendly, and in a great location. The beach is a short walk away and easily accessible. Check in was easy and smooth. I enjoyed rolling out my mat and doing yoga on the front porch when it was raining and on the grassy area when the sun was shining.
Minuses: We were not able to fully enjoy the pool area because the two lounge chairs were busted and left rusting on the deck, so there was no where to sit. The kitchen was not very well appointed, lacking many basics. The communication with the property manager is all via text and automated. No response to my texts. The daily rate increased by 1/3 by the time all taxes and fees were tacked on.

Perfect get away
First off, super cute home that had everything we were looking for. The hot tub was the best part of our evenings and the pool was a nice balance after hot pickleball matches. Did I memtion the location was perfect, 480 feet from beach and two blocks from pickleball courts. Would totally book again!!!!

Thanksgiving get away
The property was clean and perfect for our dogs the entire backyard is fenced in which makes it very easy to let the dogs run around without worry ! Footsteps away from a very nice beach and the home is small but cozy with everything you need . I would warn though the local restaurants are not stellar . Food was a tiny issue if you don’t love mediocre food . We did drive a short 20 minute drive to downtown Charleston to get good food and that was perfect for our family ! Rita’s restaurant which is owned by Halls is in town and that’s about the best food and service you will get ! All and all a great rental and pool and hot tub was a amazing treat ! Definitely would book again !

Great house with awesome back yard
This is the perfect house for a couple or a small family. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the listing said there was a heated pool, and apparently that is no longer an option - this basically makes the pool unusable after summer which was disappointing. As of this writing it still says there is pool heat. Other than that though the house is awesome.

Wonderful October getaway
Very easy checkin process. The right size for me, my husband and 3 year old. Shower had great water pressure. In unit washer dryer was nice for beach towels and swimsuits. Used the oven to make cookies which was a nice post beach/swim treat. Short walking distance to the beach, easy enough for my toddler to do on her own without being carried. We loved the hot tub and the pool, while a little brisk some days (visiting from Maryland in October) we still swam in it. Landscaping was very pretty and relaxing. We would definitely return again.
