La maison Ohana est une charmante maison récemment rénovée de 5 chambres (4000 pieds carrés) située à 5 minutes à pied de la plage de Hanalei Bay et des commodités du centre-ville de Hanalei et du marché fermier de Hanalei. Des vues exquises sur les montagnes et les cascades spectaculaires constituent la toile de fond de ce paradis tropical. Des vélos, du boogie et des planches de surf sont fournis pour que vous puissiez profiter pleinement de la vie en ville balnéaire.
La maison est idéale pour les familles nombreuses ou étendues ou les groupes et peut accueillir jusqu'à 12 personnes. Il est meublé avec des matelas en mousse à mémoire de qualité supérieure et une literie de qualité hôtelière. Chaque chambre a des portes vitrées donnant sur des ponts qui fusionnent parfaitement la splendeur extérieure avec les commodités intérieures.
La cuisine est entièrement équipée avec une nouvelle cuisinière à gaz et tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin pour de grands dîners en famille.
Une véranda grillagée (porche) entoure les deux côtés de la maison, offrant des endroits pour dîner, se détendre, jouer à des jeux et admirer la vue panoramique. We were a group of 11 people consisting of 6 adults and 5 kids. The location was just a short walk to beautiful Hanalei Bay which we all thoroughly enjoyed daily. The house was roomy and I’ve truly never stayed in a VRBO that came close to being so well stocked. You really had everything you needed. We enjoyed the game room, boogie boards, chairs and umbrellas, and the washers and dryers were so handy to have. Communication and check-in were great. Highly recommend!

This is an older style Hawaii beach-style house that is outdated, not well maintained, and looks far better in photos than in person, and we found a live adult rat in the kitchen plus other pests like termites and cockroaches in the house.
What we liked was the proximity to town and the beach, welcoming atmosphere of the area and the property owner, our travels in the area, great local food, and seeing many rainbows.
Although we stayed in houses of similar style and vintage in Kauai and had excellent experiences, this was not one of those experiences. We are no strangers to minor pests when we travel. However, I was shocked to see an adult rat scurry from behind the refrigerator across the kitchen floor under the dishwasher while sitting at the counter drinking coffee. In addition, on a daily basis there were several small piles of debris from termites in multiple locations, plus cockroaches in the ground floor rec room. There are some torn screens, some missing slats from glass windows, foliage growing close to the house; all examples of poor maintenance and easy access for a rat.
Dealing with the owner, or rather his mother, was not a great experience. According to my brother-in-law who was at the house when she arrived, she seemed to imply the rat only got into the house because someone must have left a screen door open, which is flat out not true. Even the exterminator that was with her said trees touching the house enable rats.

Everything about this home delighted me :). Really nice without being too fancy. Cozy location, and spaces for everyone. Owner communicative and accommodating. Comfortable beds, two washers and dryers, sand toys, bikes, hot tub, a large dining table. Each room has a little balcony area. Beautiful Hanalei Bay’s Pine Trees beach a short walk away. Also, a short walk to shave ice and gift shops. Basketball across the street (we brought our own ball). Loved the soft rains and lovely temperatures of March. It would be a dream to come back again! We stayed 6 nights with another family. We had 12 people total. 8 kids (10-3 ages) and 4 adults. It was the perfect place! We had more than enough room for everyone. All beach toys supplied. Less than 100 yards to beach. It was an actual dream! Will stay here again and again for years to come.

The house was perfect for our two families! Loved the views of the mountains and the location was a block from beach access. Hanalei stole our hearts staying here! Owners communication was top notch and the house had everything we needed and then some! Hope to come back again!

Good: very easy and close walk to the beach and to the downtown area
Great communication with the property manager and housekeeper who were both quick to resolve issues with nonexistent high chair and a pac and play in poor condition and problems with the tv.

Bad: the house is old. The furniture is very old and in poor condition, although the beds were fairly comfy. The kitchen is a nightmare.
I had read all reviews prior to renting this house and all were very positive, so I was shocked when we arrived to see the house wasn’t at all what I had expected. The housekeeper (who is absolutely darling and a BIG help) indicated the house is one of the very few in Hanalei with more than 3 bedrooms and this is a big sell overall, and it is true that there was lots of space. I feel a bit like a rat complaining, but I want to be honest since I rely on reviews when I look at renting a property. I also understand how it goes renting a beach property as my husband and I had a beach rental home in South Carolina a few years ago. Salty air is hard on houses and some renters are more gentle than others. This house needs a major overhaul, which I understand might be in the works as the house was sold last December. Not sure where one would start as so much needs to be done, but the property definitely has potential and clearly has been much loved over the years. I’m hoping this review is honest without being unduly negative which was not my intent.

House is in a perfect location to walk to the beach, to shopping and some of the best restaurants on the island. The beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels were used daily & greatly appreciated. The kids enjoyed using the outdoor shower. Again, can’t beat location.

Great spot - perfect location in Hanalei. Pleasantly surprised by how nice the hot tub was after a surf / beach outing. Great to be able to walk or bike everywhere. I'm so happy I chose this home for our family vacation-it was perfect! We had considered another home in Princeville, but this was more our style. Laid back, comfy, steps from the beach, close to town and ample space for us to spread out or come together. We had a fabulous time. Susan has everything you need for a great Hawaiian vacation-snorkel gear, beach towels, coolers, sand toys, bikes. Don't think twice-this place is perfect.

There are many things to like about this property: location, floor plan for a large group, hot tub, water toys and bikes to use, views. Beds were outstanding! However there were several repairs that needed to be addressed immediately: broken faucet in hall bath, inability to open one of the main bedroom doors from inside (was told it required major overhaul of door frame and lock), no knobs on kitchen cabinets leaving screws sticking out), one kitchen, cabinet door falling off, soap dispenser in DW didn’t release soap. It just seemed to have an unusual amount of delayed maintenance, perhaps because it had just been sold. Property manager easy to work with and several things repaired while we were there. No offer of a rebate. Could not use downstairs much because of recent flood but no additional cleaning took place. Outside could use a good straightening up and cleaning.

Property was great for large family group. Casual but comfortable accommodations. Loved the screened in lanai/dining room. Lots of space for lounging. Outdoor shower fabulous for clean up after beach day. All the amenities for the beach you would need, i.e. towels, chairs, toys, umbrellas. Short walk to the beach even with small children! Susan (host) very quick to respond if anything was needed - even checked in with us during a short power outage on the north shore.

We were there for a week and caught a pretty hot one with little breeze, so the many fans were on constantly.. 8 days of paradise
Property was great and accommodating. To be that close to the best beach in Hanalei was amazing! Our party of twelve loved having the island and all that it has to offer, plus the ping pong matches in the evenings. The main part of the house is without ac, but the fans with the windows open and tropical breeze is all that you need. Plenty of bikes, boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs…. You lack for nothing for beach play. Our host Susan was very attentive and responded when we reached out to her. Mahalo…and hope to visit again!

Family Fun
My family absolutely loved this home! The pictures don’t do it justice. We were a group of 11 ranging in age from 6-65. The home had enough space and more. Everything was well stocked, you really only need to bring food, and don’t over stock because we did and had to leave plenty behind. Hanalei is a 5 minutes walk and every kind of food is there and don’t forget the shave ice!!! The beach is also only a 5 minute walk from the home or you can ride the bikes that are also provided. The only things that felt warn were the boogie boards. There were only 2, one was small and the other didn’t have a rope. And the pool table cues don’t have tips on them making a game of pool kinda challenging. Oh, when you go to the beach, take the wagon that’s in the carport, it is big enough for all your beach day fun supplies! We didn’t use the spa because of the spiders in the trees all around. There’s not a lot to do about that as it’s nature and it didn’t ruin our vacation in the least! We had plenty to do for the 6 days we were there. We would stay here again and recommend this home to anyone looking for a great location, fully equipped, large space on an absolutely gorgeous Island!

Lots of perfect things but we were troubled by two things: one mattress was a very thick but very soft/old foam type and we ended up putting a child in it alone and the property shared a fence with a very active preschool making mornings during the week like living in a slasher movie with the very loud screaming. We would rent again. 90% awesome.

Beautiful Views and Amazing Location!
This house was absolutely perfect for our family. Spaces large enough for us all to gather but private space for my mom and me and my Husband with the two suites. Kitchen had absolutely all we would need and the lanai was amazing for eating and one of the kids even slept on the day bed out there and loved it! Location could not be more perfect for walking to shops or walking to the beach!!

Perfect location, comfortable house for a group
We had a great time staying at the property. The location is fantastic and there are plenty of bedrooms with awesome comfortable beds for a fairly big group. Walking to the beach was great and the hot tub afterwards was a good way to relax from a swim. The farmer's market was close and we picked up a bunch of great produce to use cooking meals in the well supplied kitchen. Communication with the host was friendly and prompt. We'd definitely return again in the future.

Great stay in Hanalei
We rented the entire house (main house & two suites) for 5 adults and 3 kids. We had a wonderful time! The house has everything you might need from beach equipment to the game room, which the kids loved. The decor gives the house a very Hawaiian feel. The kitchen could use a bit of updating- the stove was tricky to light and the dishwasher took 2 cycles to get the dishes clean. Great location- easy walk to the beach and town. Check-in and out were simple and easy. Susan responded to my question quickly. We LOVE Hanalei and enjoyed staying here!

Wonderful home and location
Everyone in our family of 11 loved staying in this home. And when I say "home" I mean that you will love all of the fun objects everywhere. A drum in the living area, hooks made of hands, hanging things, all kinds of fun cool things. I think to myself, these were things from vacations, gifts, or just a fun splurge. I love it all. It all makes a home a home. And in the hall is a picture of Graham Nash (of Crosby Still and Nash) with his pregnant wife and son. Graham who were good friends with the owner back in the day. Thank you so much Susan for sharing your life with us. On the practical side, as a family of 11 ages 8-70, having 5 bedrooms was perfect. There is a huge open air (screened in) dining/living area where we all could gather to relax, have meals, etc. Downstairs is a game room with ping pong and a pool table where we would often find the kids playing. Plus a bunch of bikes including 4 brand new balloon tired bikes. It is an easy wake/bike ride down to one of the most picturesque beaches in the world. We all loved this home and hope to return again in the future.
