This house was all we had hoped for and then some. We celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary with our family. From the easy access to the beach, the beautiful pool and lounge area, the elevator, the front porch gathering spot,etc, this house went above and beyond. Owner was quick to answer any questions and provide direction for fun activities. 5 stars plus !!!!

After years of discussion, our book club finally coordinated a women's weekend away from families & kids - and this home was the perfect destination. Bright, clean & cozy, this home has all the amenities you may need. Located directly across from the beach access, we could enjoy the sand & surf from anywhere. The pool felt incredible, and there were plenty of lounges for us all. Communication with the homeowner was easy, and he was very responsive to any questions or concerns. We look forward to staying there again!

Can't say enough wonderful things about the Blue Crab house!!
The house location is fantastic, with just a few steps to the beach.
The front porches give you an amazing view of the ocean, where we spent mornings and evenings relaxing and enjoying the view.
The amenities offered were fantastic.... fully stocked kitchen, a wet bar with an icemaker ( we never had to go out to buy ice), an extra fridge and freezer in the storage room, plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards and beach umbrellas!
The pool was a nice reprieve in the afternoon, with plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing while the kids played in the pool.
The main level was a perfect size to accommodate the 15 of us, and very comfortable. There were plenty of games for us to play, while others relaxed in the living room and watched TV.
The house overall was very clean and this was one of the BEST stays we have had in OIB!!!!

This property is excellent in every respect. It easily accommodated 11 guests, was clean, had everything we needed, and everything worked. The location is ideal, right across the street from a lightly used beach. Excellent views of the beach and ocean. The property owner, Tom, is an excellent communicator. He kept in touch regularly but did not overdo it. We asked for the pool to be heated due to unexpectedly cool weather, and it was done almost immediately. Highly recommended.

We planned this family reunion in June 2022. We added a special little one in January. Four generations ranging in age from 3 months to 83 years young. Absolutely stunning cottage, beautiful views, and impeccable host! Went above and beyond to meet our needs. Won’t need to bring much from home. Fully equipped. Would not hesitate to return year after year. Many thanks to our host Tom for making our family reunion one full of laughter, fun and especially wonderful memories that we will cherish for a lifetime!!

My mother’s 90th birthday was her “Best Birthday Ever” - a family reunion at Blue Crab. We were 13 in number, 2 mos. – 90 yrs. The house was gorgeous, well appointed and equipped, clean and welcoming. Some of us had done numerous beach rentals at OBX and had brought a variety of household supplies and beach gear but were nicely surprised that the house already had those. We loved having an elevator to move luggage, lots of groceries and at least a couple aging family members. Bedrooms on the main floor were perfect for the newborn’s parents and the great grandmother who has very low vision. We enjoyed the perfect location, immediate beach access and panoramic ocean views. The great grandmother appreciated that southern beach exposure for more sun exposure but less morning glare. Our group had a gourmet chef who spoiled us at every meal. He was able to do so because the kitchen was so well equipped. He and his helpers were in the conversation because of the open floor plan. The location is easily served by Myrtle Beach and Wilmington airports. Our host, Tom, was exceptional before, during and after our adventure. He was humorous, flexible, kind, responsive, and attentive to every detail to ensure we had an awesome trip. There was a whale sighting during our stay and he texted us to inform us. During our stay, we opted to heat the pool for 2 days. Tom took care of this last-minute request to the delight of the toddler who discovered underwater swimming “again…again…again….again!” We enjoyed the well-equipped, comfortable, private and safe pool area, heated outdoor shower and that huge Weber Grill used during our final feast preparation. We could not have asked for a better host or property. The pics online give a hint of how wonderful it is. We are talking about how to make it an annual event. We would choose this house and owner again.

Our stay was amazing! The house is fully stocked with anything you could possibly need. The location and is perfect with ocean views and direct beach access without feeling crowded by other properties. The owner was available for any questions and concerns; great communication! We loved our first OIB visit and are sure to be back.

We had a beach retreat for our college and career group at church and this weekend was so wonderful! The house was incredible, had amazing views, great location, and had everything needed. Tom is an amazing host who responded thoroughly and timely, as well as even checked on us during our stay. We were beyond pleased with our trip, and are already looking forward to booking again here!

We decided to celebrate a Christmas family reunion at the beach. The house we chose was the perfect location. Although the weather was very cold we enjoyed walks on the beach and playing games. The children want to return next year.

This house could not be in a better location. The beach access is right across the street, with easy access for fishing and beach fun! Tom was very responsive and easy to work with. Everything about this house was great. The kids especially enjoyed the heated pool, and the elevator allowed my elderly grandparents to move from one level to the next with ease and safety. I highly recommend this spot! It’s a great find!

This house is beautiful with all the amenities! I can’t recommend this house enough. Our family loved being there with the ocean out the front door and the pool out the back door. The kitchen was well stocked and the elevator made loading and unloading the car so much easier. The host was very responsive and gracious to any questions.

We were very impressed with the property and also Tom's communication before and during our stay to insure we had a great experience. The view and close proximity to the beach was awesome. Enjoyed drinking morning coffee and afternoon/evening cocktails on the porch with such an incredible view. We made lasting family memories and will be returning!

Our family and friends group of 17 stayed at the Blue Crab for a wonderful week of memories. The first time we’ve done this ever, and the first time together in a long time due to COVID. The house is beautiful and in the perfect location for beach accessibility and views of the ocean. We saw a huge school of dolphins swim by the first morning! The kids enjoyed the option of beach or pool, and there was everything available to accommodate that. Our dryer was suboptimal at first, but the landlord had it serviced immediately. Thank you to Tom Alas and crew for a wonderful venue to host our reunion!

Great vacation, Great House
We had the best time in Ocean Isle at The Blue Crab! We had never heard of Ocean Isle and randomly stumbled upon it and this listing and we are so glad we did. This was our first “real” vacation with the entire family and it was more than we had hoped. Tom was the perfect host, by far the best host of any VRBO we’ve ever stayed in. He was attentive, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. He sent out emails and texts in the days/weeks leading up to our trip with things for us to do and recommendations for our family. The few very minor issues we had at the house (I’m not sure I would even call issues) were fixed immediately! His team was also excellent and very helpful.
The house was perfect for our large family. The location could not have been better. At a quiet end of the beach, perfect views, and amazing new backyard and pool. We were all sad to leave! It was an all around great experience - we already booked for 2024 and look forward to this being a family trip for years to come!

Very Nice Ocean Isle Beach Home!
We enjoyed our short stay in this luxury Ocean Isle Beach home. The multiple en-suite bath bedrooms make this an ideal property for several families to share on an epic vacation. The close proximity to the beach, the views, and the pool are major attractions. The property is professionally managed by Tom and his team, which is a bonus for the guest and any needs that arise.

Renting the Blue Crab Property was an absolute pleasure from the moment we made our reservation we were immediately contacted by Thomas who was accessible and proactive in responding to all of our questions to be better prepared for our stay. When we arrived to the property we realized we wanted to extend our stay. The property was immaculately cleaned, well equipped with all essentials in the kitchen, You will find great selection of beach essentials and extra storage. The property is perfectly located steps away from the beach with ocean views and with an amazing sunrise. The Blue Crab will be our new family’s vacation home and we can’t wait to visit again soon!

Excellent place for a getaway!
We had a reunion with multiple families and friends including 5 children under 4 years old. The house was great for us!! Plenty of room to spread out. The deck spaces are huge with wonderful views. Plenty of outdoor/patio furniture to enjoy the outdoor spaces.
We had a wonderful time enjoying the heated pool, the fence blocked the cold March wind so we could even enjoy the pool in the mornings and evenings. There were a few minor appliance issues, but Tom quickly responded to every need. He was a great host, and we would highly recommend this property! Hope to return in the future.

Perfect Getaway
We rented this house for a Girl’s Trip and it couldn’t have been better! We had plenty of room, everything was spotless , and the heated pool was a nice treat! Extremely impressed with the responsiveness of the owner! Definitely recommend this house!

Wonderful experience!
My family travelled to OIB for a New Years getaway with friends and had a fabulous time staying in this house! We paid to have the pool heated for the kids, and a few adults got in as well. Totally worth it! The layout of the house was great for our 4 families. The owner was easy to in touch before our stay and was very easy to communicate with. Hope we can go back again sometime!
