We stayed here for our anniversary weekend, and brought our two small dogs with us. The house was very clean and well-appointed, and the bed was probably the most comfortable we've had at a rental property. Location was great, and it might have been the mid-September timeframe, but the neighborhood and even the downtown area were very quiet and peaceful. It was nice to walk the dogs around without very many cars. We will definitely come back!

We loved our stay at LHOP celebrating my son's 9th birthday on the water. He caught over 30 fish that weekend - small Red Drum, White Perch and Croaker. We spent a day at Fossil Beach collecting sea glass and sharks teeth. Wonderful meals at local restaurants. We will return!

This is our second time staying here. The location is perfect looking out over the Potomac River and spending time relaxing out on the private dock. The home is clean, comfortable and well stocked. The updated kitchen is awesome.

What an amazing home! On a quiet street. The second floor bedroom and balcony overlooking the River afford privacy and a Birds Eye view. Walking distance to the town. Pet friendly with fenced in backyard. Truly a chefs dream kitchen and with shady lane seafood 5 minutes up the road it couldn’t be more perfect! We will definitely be back! Plenty of room for two -3 couples or a family with two bedrooms and a daybed on the sun porch. Narrow and steep staircase to the second floor. Beautifully decorated and cozy. Feels like Colonial Beach paradise :-)

A wonderful house on the Potomac. Enjoyed the calming views and sounds of chirps from birds. Turns out there were 4 baby birds in a nest on the wreath at front door. What a surprising find! The house is well stocked and artfully decorated. It is walking distance to main streets of the town but worlds away. We will be back ! Thanks.

A cute as a bug home fully appointed with a water view. A community that stops and says hello when you are walking with your 90 plus parents. Some offer a golf cart ride to which you smile dad guffaws A property manager who writes a notes about the grands… our trip was cut short- but we will return

We love this house. Beautiful kitchen, view of the Potomac River from the bedroom, backyard for our pup to play, scenic sunroom for morning coffee, hiking at Westmoreland park. Will definitely come back again!

This rental is great for a peaceful get away. We were surprised how well stocked it was (I over packed). The home was very comfortable, and the neighborhood was great for walks. Our dog enjoyed the back yard and visiting the dog park in Colonial Beach. There are a number of dog friendly restaurants and wineries nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place love the kitchen! Fishing off the dock with a child was fun! Was a little challenged for Colonial Beach area to find a lot of outside the home activities for a 5 year old. Well maintained house.

Views and kitchen are exceptional. We had to buy essentials such as Kleenex, paper towels, and a fly swatter (flies were terrible) so I would say more care could have been taken with stocked items, especially at this price point. Also could have been a bit cleaner-but overall the experience was good.

We had a blast. Beautiful home with view and easy access to the water. Close to the down town beach. We enjoyed relaxing and walking our to the pier. One of my dogs jumped in to the water and swam around in her life vest for 10 or 15 minutes. The house was perfect size and very clean. Very quiet neighborhood with just the friendly locals riding around on their golf carts. There was a grape vine growing from the neighbors yard and extended over to our back yard. So I was a little worrisome about my dogs going and trying to mess with that since grapes are so toxic to dogs. May want to trim that back away from the yard. That is really my only complaint, but still gets a solid 5 star rating from me. Great experience 👍

What a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful escape. The home was equipped with everything you could want. Although the fish weren't biting we will definitely be back!

My wife and I went there for her 40th, had a great time, house was very clean, great view of sunrise and set. really enjoyed it. Must see!

This is a perfect place to relax, watch the river, have a get together with friends utilizing the well appointed, large kitchen. The two upstairs bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. If you are looking for an upscale bathroom, the full bath is small but it gets the job done. There is a half bath on the main floor. The fenced in back yard has a covered patio with gas grill and room for two cars and a golf cart but it is small. Wonderful sunroom with many windows looking out on river. 2 fire pits, dog friendly and very clean. Property Manager is very considerate and responds quickly. We would definitely rent it again.

The house was excellent-great location,clean,outstanding kitchen, comfortable beds, and fenced in backyard for the dog. Short drive to GW Birthplace, Westmoreland State Park and Dahlgren Rail Trail. Easy walk or bike ride to the beach and the town. Would definitely stay at this house again.

The house is perfect for two couples. The dock was magic for a relaxing day. It is an easy walk to downtown Colonial Beach, which is a cute little town.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this very cozy property! The home was very clean, and well stocked. You can immediately see it's well cared for by the owners and they've done a great job updating the home with modern amenities. The location is fantastic overlooking the Potomac. I highly recommend renting a golf cart to round out your stay here in Colonial Beach.

We had a wonderful time in this relaxing and well equipped home. Our girls enjoyed fishing on the dock, sitting by the fire pit and playing in the back yard. Kitchen is a chefs dream and the home is very comfortable with all the amenities. Hope to return soon!!

Our long weekend was absolutely perfect! The house is lovely and well appointed. The bed in the master was super comfortable which was wonderful because the view tempted us to stay there! The pier is sound and clean and the catfish were biting! We did find some beach glass as well! We'll definitely be returning!

We loved our stay and used the private dock daily to fish and kayak (also provided). It’s a good sized cottage perfect for a small family and the living room and kitchen was nicely appointed. The master bedroom is amazing - comfy bed and beautiful views of the water! Will be staying here again.

Communication with the host was easy and we got quick replies. Waking up on a very comfortable bed looking out to the river was perfect every morning. We hiked at Vorhees Nature Preserve, hit a winery or two and had a fire pit and stargazing evening. Exactly what I needed for my birthday to not feel stressed.

The master bed is incredibly comfortable and fluffy (we did bring our home pillows because we are kind of fussy about sleep pillows). The sound of the Potomac was incredibly relaxing, the pier was neat, the stars at night were gorgeous, the sunset in the morning was fabulous. I really enjoyed the sun room in particular. It was just what we needed: quiet and relaxing in the off season. It is a vacation home (rather than a hotel) and there are some minor quirks that other reviewers have spoken to - we did need to pick up trash liners, for example. The downstairs bathroom sink and the upstairs tub could probably benefit from having the drain snaked. But all of these things were minor and the same kind of thing you might encounter if a close friend lent you their place for the weekend. The property manager Cindy was responsive and easy to work with. The kitchen was AWESOME in terms of space and amenities, and we really appreciated having a washer/dryer so we didn’t have to do all our laundry when we got home. We had an incredibly relaxing time, just a quick drive to the state park and Fossil Beach, and the local town just down the road. It was wonderful to have a place to slow down and I hope we’ll get to stay here again sometime.
