Our family of 6 really enjoyed this property, especially the deck for morning coffee and hot tub for evening relaxation. It was a great secluded location to go many different directions for sight seeing! We also utilized the grill and kitchen for many family meals. The hill was a bit steep (which the owners description does a good job informing of this) for our loaded minivan on our first trip up but then didn't have any issues. All in all this is a wonderful property in the Black Hills area!

Great for our family of 5 adults. Right in the middle of so many attractions. Awesome deck to relax and drink coffee.

Our family (mom, dad, 10 yr old son, 5 yr old daughter) have only ever taken closer-to-home extended weekend getaways together (Outside of a 1 week stay at a lake house that was also near to home). We wanted to finally take a "real vacation" and we wanted a road trip experience. Our son has a real interest for United States history so aside from its beauty, naturally SD came as the obvious choice! Mount Rushmore being at the very top of the list for things to visit. We compiled a solid list of ventures that we planned on partaking in while in SD and the location of this cabin was the perfect in-between spot. The drive up the hill to the cabin was a fun journey in itself that consistently invoked OOHs & AHHs & plenty of giggles as well. We really felt like we had the true Black Hills experience while staying here that we no doubt would not have gotten had we simply stayed within one of the nearby cities. We are a lowkey bunch with an appreciation for a slower pace... this cabin offered us all of the modern luxuries, an ambiance that fit us well as it reminded us of our own home, along with a quaint comfort & an envelopment with surrounding nature. One of our favorites was relaxing on the covered porch and listening to the wind whistle through the tall pines. Our daughter compared it to a lullaby. So calming to the senses. Audra is a wonderful host! She has this home situated with everything that could be needed (& then some). Her communication is thorough and considerate. A+!

We had a great time during our stay!! Cabin is in the center of Deadwood and Custer. It was so relaxing. We loved sitting in the hot tub after a long day of exploring. The cabin was so clean and fully stocked with needed supplies.

We stayed here as a family with our two adult kids, their spouses, and granddaughter. The cabin was amazing and so peaceful. To sit outside and watch the deer and hear the rainfall. Thanks for a great place to get away to and enjoy.

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for - Off the beaten path, clean, with awesome views! We toured in every direction and it always felt good to come “home”. Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven with our family!!

We absolutely love staying at this property! This is a beautiful cabin, we love sitting on the porch in the morning, watching the deer and occasionally wild turkeys. The kitchen is stocked with staples, the beds are very comfortable. This cabin is cared for well and is as stated. The hot tub is an added bonus after a day out and about. If you are looking to get away from it all, yet have access to what the Black Hills has to offer and hiking, UTV trails, kayaking, swimming, and boating at nearby Pactola Reservoir this is the place for your family. We had a small conflict come up with our dates and the owner was awesome to work with. Looking forward to our next visit!

The cabin was everything that we wanted it to be! The location was great for being able to hit the tourist attractions and still stay remote. It was clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the hot tub & sitting on the porch watching the wildlife. Cell reception didn't work for us but we were able to hook up to wifi and email/IM. Would definitely stay here again!!!

My wife and I stayed 6 nights and loved it. The home was beautiful, well equiped, and very comfortable. We loved the hot tub. We saw deer in the yard every morning and a couple of the evenings. We used the home as a base for exploring Custer SP, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse mem, Norbec scenic roads, Devil's Tower, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood, and Rapid City.

This was the perfect place to come "home" to after a day of exploring the area attractions and hiking. We had a GREAT time here. We all loved the hot tub as a relaxing end to each day. Admiring the deer and other wildlife with morning coffee (or an evening cocktail) and conversations on the porch was a favorite as well!

We stay in the hills 3-4 times each summer and rent a cabin every time. This cabin was unlike any where we have ever stayed! It has the most breathtaking view! The deck is equipped with the nicest patio furniture which makes your experience that much more enjoyable! The amenities inside are top notch, you can tell a lot of work was put into making this accommodating for their guests! We never stay somewhere twice but this place we will definitely be back to! The host was amazing and answered all my questions right away! Truly impressed with the whole experience!

Spent the week there for Sturgis. Yes, it takes skill for bikes, but it’s well worth the trek! Beautiful scenery and quiet solitude. Thanks for making my bucket list quest so memorable.

My family just got back from a five night stay at the cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. We did not have cell service, but it was not an issue. If you need to reach the owner she responds quickly through messages on Vrbo. Internet worked well. Make sure you allow time to relax at the cabin. We saw deer, turkey, bunnies and birds while we were there. The directions to the cabin are very helpful as you need to make a few turns on to different roads once you get off the main road, we got in on the first night when it was getting dark and managed to find it without a problem. If we would return to the area, I would want to book another stay here! It is nice and relaxing and it was a good home base for all of our daily outings/trips. Enjoy your stay!

We had such a wonderful time at Audra's cabin. It was the perfect spot to relax at night, after our daily adventures. The wildlife and peacefulness is just what we needed. The cabin had everything we needed and much more. On top of it, the cleanliness was 100%. We will definitely stay at this listing again, when we return to South Dakota. It was one of our best vacations!

We had a wonderful stay in this Hilltop Hideaway! Checkin/out super easy! We loved being able to ride out straight to the trails. Hot tub was awesome and Audra was very easy to communicate with!!!

We loved our stay here. It was beyond nice. Everything about it felt like home. The place was very clean and it was the nicest place we’ve rented in a long time. The seats outside on the porch were so relaxing and we had 2 deer who came and laid in the yard in the evenings and weren’t scared of us when we moved around. The kids loved the coziness of the upstairs and the beds were super comfortable. It was fabulous and well be coming back!

The house was great. We really enjoyed everything about it. It was nice to get out of the city and have a place out in the forest with minimal neighbors, a place to hike right outside the front door, and a whole lot of quiet

We enjoyed our stay immensely. We were there to hike the northern section of CT trail The kitchen was stocked well, the owner communicated quickly to any concerns we may have had, the hot tub was wonderful and private. The beds were comfortable.

Our family loved this VRBO - possibly the best we’ve experienced. It was clean, spacious, and well-appointed. The host has thought of everything to make your stay pleasant and there wasn’t an insane list of checkout procedures to complete at the end of our stay. The property is lovely and peaceful and while off the beaten path, we found it to centrally located to the various activities we planned during our stay. The beauty of the Black Hills and comfort of this home will stay with our family for years to come!

Beautiful home, relaxing views of Black Hills National Forest, centrally located in the area, quiet and peaceful. Off the beaten path yet a quick drive to local spots such as Mt. Rushmore, Custer SP, Black Hills Institute in Hill City, Crazy Horse Memorial. Audra was a wonderful responsive host. Clean and upscale property. A+ rating.

This property was better than the pictures. We really enjoyed our visit. We were close in all directions to main attractions, the only drawback was the drive up the mountain to the cabin. There was a family of deer that visited every morning and evening. The weather was also great. We would stay here again if ever in South Dakota.

This was by far one of the best places we have rented. Close to Hill City, Deadwood and lots of trails. The house had everything you need and more. Steep driveway so be ready. We got the trailer with the side by side up. If we are back in SD we will rent again. Thank you for the wonderful place to stay!

We stayed for 6 nights - the location was secluded and we initially had a bit of trouble finding it, but got a quick response from the owner! The property is beautiful, so peaceful outside and new on the inside! It takes a while to get to the main roads, but we knew that when we booked it and that was part of the reason why. The beds were wonderful, the kitchen was well stocked, and when we had a problem with the front door lock it was fixed by that afternoon! We would definitely stay here again if we get back to the Black Hills!

Beautiful remote location yet very modern. Very well equipped. We rode motorcycles in and out of the property every day. Dirt road for a couple miles but we were aware of that. Up and down the driveway was a bit challenging, I wouldn’t recommend it for a novice rider, not that we are experts, just be aware. Would go back to this location for sure. Great stay! Thank you.

We had a great vacation enjoying the quit nights on the deck and the mornings are so peaceful. Hilltop hideaway is so close to all of the attractions. If you need a place to relax this is it. The house is spotless and very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Hilltop Hideaway is the perfect getaway!

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this peaceful location. The cabin is very clean and modern. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch overlooking the trees and woods and sitting in the hot tub. It was a great place to come back to each evening after seeing the sights of the Black Hills. Had everything we needed for cooking. We even made it up the steep driveway in our minivan. Looking forward to staying here again on a future visit.

Very clean, well stocked, great privacy, quiet. Porch was perfect to an evening of watching wildlife and everything else that comes with nature.
