We loved our stay at Villa Lena. Mr. Enzo was extremely helpful and picked us up from the train station and dropped us back there when we left. Our room had A/C and the view from the villa was amazing.

Only negative thing about our stay was a long uphill path from Bellano centre to Villa Lena which can be quite difficult for some. But there were buses going directly from center to Villa Lena.

Enzo, the owner, was very friendly and picked us up at the station and returned us there on the day of departure. He showed us the quickest way to walk to the town and bus times, etc. The house is at the top of the hill, 12 minute walk down, and a 20 to 30 minute walk up depending on fitness levels. The view from the top by the accommodation is fantastic. Enzo gave us a complimentary bottle of water each, and you can help yourself to tea and coffee. There is also a fridge to use. We had a lovely stay at Villa Lena and would stay again.

The 20 minute uphill walk from the town of Bellano is not doable in July’s heat. Taxis are next to impossible to find and there is no transfer to or from the house. However Mr Enzo does bring you to and from the train station of Bellano which is a big plus, because if you have luggage there is no way you would be able to get up otherwise!

Very friendly and accommodating host. He was kind enough to rescue us from Varenna late night when the trains had been cancelled.

It’s a fairly steep walk up from the lake, about 20 mins at a good pace. You need to have decent shoes to make it comfortably

mr enzo was very sweet and friendly! he picked us up from the train station and showed us the way to the villa. he was also kind enough to send us back to the train station after we checked out. the place has air conditioning which was really needed during the summer. theres also a pantry provided for guests and you can take pastries and drinks as many as you want!

its a 20 mins walk uphill from town. theres water fountain on the way up so its kinda bearable for us.

It was clean. Mr. Enzo was very supportive and always ready to help. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet. You will really enjoy this place

I liked everything, only caution for people who don't like trekking. You have to walk up the hill for at least 20min to reach back from the market area.

It was relaxing and out of the main tourist area - but only a short 15-20 minute walk from the ferry or train. Mr. Enzo was an exceptional host who made sure his guests have everything they need (and, if you don’t feel like walking - he might just come pick you up!) The view was lovely. after traveling in Italy for 4 weeks - this was the reprieve I needed. the little pool was perfect after a long day too - doesn’t seem like much until you get in it! Hope to visit again! Maybe in the winter for snowboarding.

Everything was perfect. Room very clean and cosy, in the little kitchen were Coffee, wine and food for guests. Mr Enzo was lovely. Perfect view.

Just a small inconvenience - quite far on foot from city centre. It’s a bus stop near the villa Lena, but the bus is going there not so often, so it can be that you must walk about 25 minutes uphill.

the property was such a lovely place to stay! everything we needed was in the room! myself and my boyfriend stayed on the bottom level and the views from our window was lovely so I say the view from higher rooms would be even better! Enzo and Carlo were absolute gentlemen who kindly collected us from the train station and as there was no bus or taxi when I was checking out dropped me to the station after check out! there was a small coffee station which had some small bites which were complementary which was a lovely touch! highly recommend this lovely stay!!

the distance up the hill is a bit hard on the legs but if you take your time (like I definitely did), the views along the way are spectacular!

Lovely place, the owner was nice and very helpful. AC was a life saver since it was really hot in Italy. Fresh sheets and towels every day was also a big plus. People in Bellano tend to know English quite well and Bellano itself has some nice cafeterias and little shops but it is easy to go to Varenna and Bellagio for more options. The beach in Bellano close to the center is small but very nice.

The owner gave us a ride when we arrived and left which was super nice. The walk uphill to Villa takes 20 minutes (and 15 minutes down) and buses and taxis are hard to come by. We don't like using a car and also didn't mind walking most of the time but if you want to go shopping for several bottles of wine you should plan your trip uphill in advance.
