Gaby and her husband met us immediately upon arrival. Their property is lovely, including a donkey, two horses, several chickens, and the cutest dog in the world. They were so helpful with all of our questions, too.

The pictures are accurate of the Cabanita, but the first pictures on Booking.com show a different house. We think there could be two properties to rent? We stayed in the smaller one and it was perfect.

This little house has a privileged location just a block away from Avenida Bustillo and the lake, the cabin is fully equipped and has some very nice details like a glass roof for the shower and a stunning antler chandelier. The cabin has very big windows that will make you feel in constant touch with the forest. Human-wise, Gabriela lives with her family just a couple of steps away from the cabin and is as helpful as any host can be recommending notable sights to explore and suggesting activities for the day. Anybody staying here will be cozy and comfortable, we recommend visiting the autoservicio Las Marías a few kilometers away for vacation supplies, just head over to the Llao Llao and you'll find it next to a ferreteria. The owners there are lovely and the store has a real "campestre" feel that'll make you feel like a gaucho in the middle of Patagonia. Worth the adventure!

Though it is handy to have your host living a few meters away from you we did have something else in mind when it comes to privacy. The pictures do not illustrate the fact that you'll be partially surrounded by the owners family life, that may come as a surprise if you're expecting an isolated cabin in the woods.
