A spacious self-contained apartment, bigger than I expected and with balcony to sit out on, in the heart of the village of Maro. Isabel and José were friendly and attentive hosts.

They don't accept credit cards, but that's a very minor inconvenience and there's an ATM at the end of the street.

We absolutely loved our stay and were so sad to leave! Isabel and José were the perfect hosts - they couldn't do enough for us. We enjoyed chatting with them (and practising our Spanish), and they let us store the bikes we had hired even though they were quite big and awkwardly sized mountain bikes! The penthouse apartment was authentically Spanish and exceptionally clean. We had access to two terraces which was a joy to wake up to and sit on every day. There was everything you needed for self catering including kitchen facilities such as a toaster, kettle, washing up liquid, cutlery, fridge and freezer. Maro itself is tiny but incredibly tranquil. With the incredible caves (cuevas) on your doorstep and Nerja a short cab drive away (under 10 mins), you get to enjoy the best of both worlds on your holiday here. We would love to come back and would like to thank Isabel and José for being such wonderful hosts.

Nada, todo perfecto! :-) Just an FYI - the hosts don't accept credit cards for payment which isn’t a problem but it would be good for booking.com to be more specific on the booking confirmation instead of "payment will be handled by the host".

Clean and quiet and they provided all the things that you need for your stay that you would have to get and hardly use any of, like salt pepper cooking oil etc.

Parking was sometimimes hard to park in the street, but there is a big car park just down the road. Wi fi dodgy occasionally.

The apartment was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. We particularly enjoyed having a balcony to sit out on.

There was nothing we didn't like. It was all good.

The sunny terrace just outside the kitchen was wonderful. The small, quiet village was perfect for us.
