This sweet and clean cottage is depicted well in the pix.... we enjoyed our 2 night stay. I would urge a prospective renter to read the reviews. Accessibility with the drive can be a bit overwhelming-backing in off of busy route 39 and with an unprotected drop off into the yard. The steps are steep with some unevenness but once you get into the cottage it's charming.

The cottage was everything we needed. The bed and sofa were comfy and the rainfall shower was wonderful. The area was very quiet and relaxing. I would say that the driveway is a little harrowing because it’s on a ledge and the road in front is 45 mph, but we were able to back in most times that we parked the car. Overall we had a great experience.

Very nice place, very clean and has all the amenities. Not a place for someone with disabilities. As stated in the description, be very careful of going in and out of the driveway. It may be long, however it is not very trailer friendly, it is narrow and even the most expert of drivers need to pay close attention. It would beneficial to remove the stones on the street side and leave it grass. Also to add some solar lights as a guide. We brought our own because we knew we would be backing up during the dark hours.

Great place to stay for a nice little get away

Overall the interior of the property was great. Very clean and everything you need for your visit. The shower is awesome and everything is very comfortable. The property manager was very sweet and there was a balloon and chocolates for my wife and my anniversary with a very nice card. Location and photo wise there were some disappointments. You are in another houses back yard. The lake is across the street and down a hill. The beach area is down the end of the cul du sac a small walk from the property. There is not much privacy outside. The driveway is small, has a precipitous drop off and is on a very busy street so getting in and out is a little nerve-wracking. Overall we had a very nice stay but pay attention to every picture and know you are not on the water.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was adorable and very comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the beautiful lake. We definitely will rent again but for a longer stay next time.

Just perfect didn't want to come back to N.Y

This guest house was perfect for our weekend gateway. The house was so cozy and had everything we needed. The lake was literally right across from the house. Its so beautiful and peaceful. We really enjoyed the water and also kayaking. The view from the house was stunning. We loved the grill and outside seating area. Eric and Maki were so nice and very helpful. It was my birthday and they had a cake delivered to the house which was super awesome! We will definitely be coming back!

The space is designed beautifully for it's size. Everything has a purpose and place. Squantz pond is beautiful and the mountain setting is wonderful. You can see the mountains from the driveway, but not from the cabin since it's behind another home. But in a location like this, you don't spend to much time indoors. I would love to have had an outdoor spigot to give our dog a bath after a day in the water. But the shower worked just fine. Thank you for the lovely visit, I'm now infatuated with the area!

Wanted a place to stay out of NYC but easy access to NYC for vacation trip. House served us well for 2 nights while we toured the city.

The property is fairly new/remodeled. The shower is amazing, the bed & couch were both comfortable, and the kitchen had many appliances. The cottage is tiny but it serves its purpose. There is a great fire pit outside to use, and plenty of firewood available. It was a nice touch. You can definitely tell this is a pet friendly cottage. While it didn’t smell bad, you can tell they tried to cover up dog smell with air freshener. I was surprised considering the $100 cleaning fee. I noticed a lot of dog hair on my clothes, and my dog doesn’t shed. The ad says “well stocked kitchen”. I thought that this would include salt, pepper, pan spray etc. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case, so be prepared to bring all of that on your own. The cottage is very drafty, and on a chilly night, that made it pretty uncomfortable even with the portable heater set to max and the heating unit in the bedroom set to 74. The driveway is quite possibly the worst driveway I’ve ever seen, and if it weren’t for my husband guiding me out every time we left, I don’t think I’d be able to leave safely. It also has a lip that I bottomed out on when pulling out. The house in front blocks any view you might have of the lake. The TV was logged out of everything, so I had to log into my own Amazon account to even access the tv. I texted the property manager about this and she never responded. Lastly, there is a broken couch and other debris on the property grounds which was quite the eyesore.

The property was beautiful and well taken care of. Everything was clean and new.

This has to be one of the best short term rentals we've ever stayed at. The house is very well put together with more what you typically get at other places. It is extremely cozy. We stayed for a weekend with my wife and our dog and had such an awesome time we did not want to leave. We sat by the lake most of the time with our dog playing in the water. We took out a kayak and had a lovely time going up and down the pond. Would highly recommend this place.

Great little house right on the lake. Beautiful views. Great for 2 people, a bit small for more than that. Well equipped kitchen. Overall great place to stay!

We had an excellent time in this cozy cottage that is well stocked with essentials. The fold out couch is comfortable and the living room was a nice place to hang out. Eric was very responsive and the cookies he left for us was a nice touch. Highly recommended!

I wanted a short and quick getaway for my bday and this was idéal. The hosts were sweet enough to get me a birthday balloon. The cottage was the cutest!

My husband and I stayed here for a quick anniversary getaway. The cottage is exactly as shown… I’m one to walk into a place, feel skeeved and the need to wipe everything down. Lol! Not here… it was very clean, inviting, and decorated adorably. Had a little trouble getting in, but reached out to Eric and it was quickly remedied. We walked into a cute little cottage, and even found a Happy Anniversary balloon waiting for us. Such a nice thing to do! The cottage is set behind the main house, but still has a view of the lake, and gorgeous fall foliage colors ( and fog rolling in).. The area was very quiet… which was nice. Lots of hiking available nearby if that’s what you enjoy ( we did!). Make sure to go to Squantz Pond, Bear Mountain Reservation, and definitely Pootatuck Forest-blue trail-for an amazing view! All minutes away. Thank you so much Eric for a great little getaway.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the weekend and it was AWESOME! It is an amazing house with the most beautiful views. We definitely recommend staying here.

This apartment was above and beyond what I expected. It was so clean and everything is brand new, modern, and renovated. The check in process was very smooth and the host was very gracious. The area surrounding the property is absolutely gorgeous. I definitely want to come back during the summer to spend some time on the lake! Can’t say enough good things about this place.

Our stay at the cozy cottage was perfect. It is a great location with easy access to local grocery stores, restaurants and Starbucks! We were in town for a Bridal shower and live more than two hours away. It was a prefect spot to relax and distance ourselves for the family after a large event, while only being about a 10 minute drive from where event was held. The kitchen is nicely appointed and the bathroom and shower is spacious, clean and well stocked with shampoo, conditioner and soap. We travel with a small dog, and found a cute little bed set up for him! That’s a very nice touch. The Wi-Fi was great and easy to get set up for our phones and devices. The outdoor space was perfect for our romantic dinner and the grill was awesome! There was plenty of firewood for the fire pit and had all the creature comforts you don’t know you need until you need them. There were extra pillows blankets and sheets for the bedroom and pull out couch, which was also very convenient. For a weekend visit it was nice and quiet which was and unexpected bonus! The owners were great to work with and addressed our needs in a timely, cordial manner. We will definitely stay again next time our family has an event in the area. Thank you Eric and Maki!

Very quiet and nice place beside the lake. The room is clean. We had a lot of fun on kayaking and swimming.. We also had a good hiking on the bear mountain reservation. My dog loves it! Eric is a great host, answering our questions promptly and accommodative. His assistant Maki is also very helpful during the stay. Thanks for hosting us!

My family and I had an awesome time. There’s a state beach down the road with hiking trails in the park with amazing views. The cottage is updated and very clean. We grilled every night and had s’mores around the fire pit

Cottage is perfect for a couple. Was spotless inside and the deck and yard were very clean as well. Check in and out was easy. Do not rely on the sofa bed as a place to sleep, we pulled it out while watching tv and quickly folded it back up again. The private and neighborhood beach both have a steep hill so would not be good for those with mobility issues but the beaches were clean, sand was nice and the area is gorgeous. So many places to hike and explore the great outdoors. Our dog really loved this vacation as well! We did not cook while we were there, we never had a bad meal at area restaurants. Would definitely recommend staying here and we definitely want to stay here again.

Had a great stay at this little cottage on Squantz pond. It's a clean modern little cottage which is very much as described in the listing. Deck, grill, fire pit, kayaks all included and two swimming access points - one in front of the main house, which the cottage is behind, just grass there and no beach but fun for a quick swim or to use the kayaks; and the other is a private sandy beach which is a short walk down the road. We were there during the week in July and we had the beach all to ourselves. It was great for the kids. The hosts were friendly, helpful and quick to respond. It's a beautiful, quiet spot. The only warning I would give is the sleep sofa has a very thin mattress and you can really feel the springs. It was fine for the kids but I imagine it would be rough for most adults. But everything else was great so highly recommend!

Great, quiet location. Driveway parking a little dangerous going in out from driveway onto Ry 39 bc it was narrow and steep. Would be nice if able to use main properties driveway. Pullout sofa bed uncomfortable. Very clean . Place meant more for a couple or with one small child. Nice to be able to use kayaks, but have to carry across street and up and down hill. Overall we enjoyed our stay!! The birthday balloons and cup was a nice added touch by property owner 😊I would recommend stay!
