We really enjoyed our stay here. Jane and felipe were wonderful hosts and made us feel super welcome! We loved that the location was a bit out of the center of San Gil so we could really enjoy the views and the quietness of the place. We also loved the 2 dogs and cats. Jane made super good meals each evening. And a shout out to their good music taste :)

First, I stayed for 3 weeks there! I've felt like being in a small family! Jen and Felipe are so welcoming! They will make you feel comfortable as soon as you arrive with their beautifull smile and their overwhelming feeling of happiness! PLUS, they offer 3 meals for cheap prices! The food is just amazing and they have vegeterian options as well which are also super tasty! I played music a lot with Felipe and the other guests! It's the perfect place for those who wants to have a peacefull and quiet hostel far from the crowdy San Gill center! Also, they have 3 cats and 2 dogs which are sooo gentle! I truelly recommand this hostel! I also forgot my headphones there and they offered me to send it back to my home by post! Thank you Jen and Felipe!

The only thing is that the wifi connexion was sometimes not stable, but Jen and Felipe are working to fix this! Ohterwhile, I have nothing to say! It was the most wonderfull stay I've had in a hostel in Colombia!

I loved the view and the peacefulness, which is worth being a bit out of the city I also loved the familial atmosphere The attention of the owners is GREAT and they have many advices on the region The food they cook is delicious aha, great veggie options

This is how you receive guests, Jane & Felipe are wonderful hosts. Dinner and breakfast is great. Beautiful location. They offer all the tours in town.

Only the location is far out of town so you need a taxi but it's worth it.

Given the high ratings, I expected a nice hostel. But I found more than that - a home away from home. Jane and Felipe are the wonder couple who make you feel special and like family from the moment you arrive. I intended to stay here for a week and left after 3. Everything from cleanliness, the food pets, and music and everything else about La Hacienda is just magical. I am leaving absolutely refreshed and recharged, and still wish I didn't have to leave.

Some people might think that the location is a bit away from the town but that's what makes this place great. It's very quiet and peaceful and I didn't mind the trip into town occasionally.

La Hacienda is located a short taxi drive away from the busy San Gil, it was such a welcome break from all the noise after a few nights in town. Jane and Felipe are incredible hosts that will make you feel right at home since the minute you walk through the door. There are many spots around the property to sit back and relax and enjoy the views and tranquility. I cannot overstate this one enough: although there is a fully equipped kitchen available- don’t waste your time cooking, have Jane and Felipe prepare your meals!!! After months of rice and beans on the road (we’re vegetarian) their meals were like godsend. Jane’s spectacular curries, lasagna or falafel accompanied by Felipe’s freshly made pita, flatbread and garlic bread are reasons enough to go, I promise! Let’s not forget the pizza…. my mouth is watering just writing this. I cannot recommend them enough!!!

Felipe and Jane are super hosts. They are very responsive and committed to making their guests comfortable. The entire family of 4 made me feel at home. Amenities are all good. Nature surrounds the hacienda. Privacy was excellent (helped by the fact that I was the only guest at the time - don't count on it). The meals were delicious, high quality, and priced very reasonably.

I could not find any hiking trails nearby, but this not the fault of the hosts!

The staff was really kind and really attentive, also the food was amazing. Muy feliz con el lugar y las personas. 10/10.

Jane the owner of the place gave us a heartwarming welcome, took care of every need we had, very recommended.

A wonderful place in beautiful surroundings and what’s more, somewhere that feels like home. Felipe and Jane are happy to leave you to do your own thing or to sit on the veranda with a beer overlooking the mountains talking about life, their travels, your travels - everything! The walk to/from the bus stop is beautiful, or Jane/Felipe can arrange a taxi with the lovely Freddy, or if you’re doing adventure activities you’ll get picked up. The tranquility of La Hacienda compared to the hustle and traffic of San Gil is worth it. Eat dinner together if you want - either Jane’s great cooking (recommended), their hand-made pizzas, or join with your own food. Jane makes all the bread (including the buns on burger night!). This was a much needed stop during my travels in Colombia - I can’t wait to come back.

This hostel is the perfect little getaway from the hustle and bustle of San Gil down below. I came for two nights, stayed for a week. Jane and Felipe are the most welcoming hostel owners ever. Kitchen has absolutely everything you need. Showers are hot. Wifi is fast. Beds are comfortable. The view is to die for.

The food was amazing and plentiful

Just amazing. The location was perfect, right above San Gil, with an amazing view, among coffee fields and forests. The lodging itself was great, with a lot of room, useful services (thanks for the coffee), and a superb atmosphere. Highly recommend getting the meals on site, as both Jane and Felipe are wonderful cooks. Talking about the hosts, they are so kind, very fun, and just a pure delight to talk to. We felt at home and would happily go back and stay at the Hacienda.

Staff is awesome, Jane and Felipe are a great couple who treated us like family. They also are great cooks who offer you bunch of home made delicious meals. Bedrooms have plenty of space with a lovely vibe product of it's paintings. Also you got a great view. I'm sorry I didn't take enough pictures to share but the place is very nice.

I liked everything, by the date of this review I had a concern about location but it's just at 15 minutes from the main road. Road difficulty 6 out of 10.
