Porch life was outstanding. View of the ocean, nice breeze, nice furniture, great to have both screened and unscrewed. Pretty landscaping. Loved the big dining table. Nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Beach accessories directly across the street. No soaps, kleenex, or travel toiletries or dish towels in the house, so bring your own. Bert's grocery is just a few blocks away, very walkable.

Pros: directly across from beach access, wonderful screened in front deck with partial ocean view and sounds of the ocean, a half mile walk to the main strip, a few blocks from Berts market (open 24 hrs) Cons: uncomfortable beds (all), unclean shower (mold on shower liner), could have been cleaner overall, water filter on fridge needs replaced (and water spout needing to be cleaned), bare minimum kitchen essentials, uncomfortable couches/living room seating, front door code does not work for steps leading into the house from the garage, could use some updating/older house

Good to Excellent

Pretty seamless.

First off, communication with the host was excellent and we were able to get in early. We were so thrilled when we arrived to this spacious and beautifully decorated house. There is plenty of space to spread out. We used the screened in porch as our quiet area to read and do a jigsaw puzzle. The large living/dining space was perfect for making meals and hanging out. The television had all sorts of add-on (premium?) channels that the guys used extensively (LOL). The kitchen has every pot/pan/pyrex you could ever want to create a meal for two or twelve. The two frig's are very helpful for a crowd. Lastly, the elevator was very helpful during check-in and check-out. Oh, the location - fantastic - we biked (using our free credit with the rental company) all over Folly, but mostly to Bert's for forgotten items. We went to the beach multiple times a day and even got in the water (Brrrrr). We found about a dozen shark teeth! We'll be back!

Great location! Elevator was super helpful as well as the heated outdoor shower! The ample parking, plenty of yard space AND 2nd refrigerator/freezer were a huge plus!! I would recommend bringing your own pillows & sheets as these were more like summer camp quality. The joint location of the kitchen, large dining table & screened porch made for perfect family meals, games & memories! This lovely home will stay at the top of our list for repeat visits!!

The house was the perfect size for my family. It was so close to the beach and had all the things you needed to be comfortable.

Use the keypad through the garage and up the steps. We waited almost 2 hours (On hold to VRBO) before we could get in & our grandson found the right keypad. There was no one locally that could help us. As much as I hate to say this, the house needs some TLC. With 4 families owning it, it wouldnt take much to clean it up as far as maintenance goes. The beach access was perfect. We did enjoy it.

We rented Conched Out for our extended family vacation with 11 people. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. It is a great setup for families with plenty of beds and bathrooms to accommodate everyone comfortably. The elevator is convenient for bringing up groceries and luggage, the outdoor shower was fantastic for rinsing off after going to the beach, and there are baby gates and booster seats available for toddlers. This was a great vacation home with easy access to the beach, and a great screened in porch to sit and enjoy the sound of the waves. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Folly Beach.

Excellent location maybe 50 yards from the beach. You can see the ocean from the upper porch in small spaces between the beachfront houses but don’t think of it as an “ocean view”. The ocean can be heard easily however, and the sea breezes are amazing. The house is nice (particularly the upper screened in porch), but routine maintenance is being deferred. Eg: broken blinds, some TVs didn’t work, needs paint, etc. The WiFi is weak but adequate. Overall, I mean come on, we didn’t rent the house to admire the paint and watch tv. We wanted beach time, and this location provided the access! We would go back for sure. Oh and we found 50 shark teeth over 3 mornings walking the beach as the tide was going out.

Vacasa needs to provide more amenities and manage the home better. When we arrived, there was a huge pile of full trash bags in the driveway from previous tenants. The bed sheets are also very low quality (owner’s issue more so than management’s). Im ok with theow quality of the sheets, but some of the beds were dirty, and that’s not ok (management issue). By policy, Vacasa only provides two rolls of toilet paper and one trash bag as a “starter kit” which I think is ridiculous. To make matters worse, on arrival there were no trash bags. I called the Vacasa help line, and they said they’d bring us a bag, but they didn’t. It was annoying to have to run to the store immediately to cover minimum necessities.

This beach house was very ideal in proximity to the beach. We traveled with our 8 1/2 month old baby and found it to be a huge help. A lot of stairs to climb how we worth it when having a nice downstairs to put your little ones to bed. The main areas of the house were clean. The floors could use better cleaning and so could the rugs. The screened in patio was amazing for coffee and late night hang outs— we did not see any bats on as I believe this was resolved. No grill!

I was asked to sign wrong contract and then keypad code didnt work. After that things were okay. Rugs are filthy and I swept underneath. Gorgeous home and plenty of room.

Over all it was great. We were disappointed that we couldn't use the screened porch after dark because of the bats but we lived with it. The kitchen faucet had very very low pressure but we lived with that also. The beach access was right across from our house so it was so convenient. The beds were all so comfortable. We liked the layout of the house. We would rent it again. Hopfully the bats will be gone.

Very Close to the beach, great enclosed porch to relax, very clean and comfortable. Great for family vacation. Only draw back is lots and lots of stairs. Something to think about with little ones or older family members. Loved our stay!

This house worked wonderfully for our family. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. There were a couple issues such as the dryer only working if you used the time setting and the bunk bed needing more slats under the mattresses for both the top and the bottom.

Great big home with comfortable beds and very close to the beach. Tons of adequate parking, two fridges and freezers. We were disappointed by the broken coffee maker and then lack of response when we called to report via a message to the office. We made coffee the whole week with boiling water over grounds in the filter. We also had to purchase toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and trash bags after absolutely no spares other than what was on the roll/ in the can (we were there for 7 nights) Overall positive experience, but some inconveniences that we felt should not happen with a rental company home.

Overall the home was very nice and clean. It would have been a little bit more fun if the golf cart couldn’t be included in the house rather than a rental that is locked and kept in the garage. Parking in Folly is very hard to find so that would have been nice. Some of the locks on the doors don’t lock so that might need a fix. The home is very close to the beach and that was fun to hear the waves at night. The screened in porch is quaint.

We absolutely loved this place. Can’t wait to book this property again during warmer months.

However, this year was completely different. When we checked in, there was dog hair completely covering the furniture and floor of the screened in porch. The house was supposed to be No Pets Allowed. The bathrooms were not cleaned very well before our arrival. There were food crumbs on the rugs in the kitchen. Overall the cleaniness of the house was less than satisfactory. I reported this to Avocet on the next morning and received no response from the agent on site. Since we basically had to clean the house when moving in, I would have thought they would have waived the cleaning fee when we departed, but that did not happen. We did have an issue with the wifi not working. we called multiple times and no one followed up with us on the first day stating the internet company was closed for the day. called again the second day and still no help. finally I called again and said this needs to be resolved, as many of the guests at the house had to send emails for work/do school work on their computers. avocet sent someone to our house, and she did try her hardest, but it was a physical problem with the router and the actual house owners were the only ones who could resolve the problem and failed to do so. This was a huge inconvenience as many of us had to use our personal cell phone data to get our work done leading to overage charges. I felt this should have been handled quicker and actually resolved during our stay. The coffee maker was also broken. I would stay here again, but please do not list internet as an amenity if it does not truly work. This was a huge reason why we chose to stay in the house because a lot of us were taking time away from work with the assumption we could get work done at the house via the wifi.
