The staff was amazing and very hospitable. The room was always kept very clean and the entire resort looked stunning.

We did not like that the beach was public. We were approached by several strangers who did not work for the resort offering us their business. This was not an issue at first, but it became very uncomfortable when they would watch us from afar for hours and try to get our attention by waving and shouting when we were having lunch, swimming by the pool etc. We would have appreciated a heads up by the staff. I also wish we had known in advance while we were booking that we could not swim in the ocean. We were looking forward to staying at a resort with a beach, but we of course Recognize that this is due to safety.

Our stay at Avani Kalutara was amazing. The staff were all so so helpful and lovely and always made sure we had everything we needed and more. It was a really perfect stay and we hope to return there some day! The hotel was beautiful.

The hotel is situated next to the public beach and provides access to people not staying in the hotel that’s why there are many tuk tuk drivers who insist of taking their services which can cause discomfort to your stay.

because of one family issue i ought to back my country i tried to explain to hotel i sent several emails but they said we are regret im as genius level 2 customer of booking an loyal customer could not understand their behavior they charged me 472Us$ full amount cash even did not deduct breakfast price. for the hotel that was totally empty it was shameful if hotel was full I could understand but in few hours that I stayed it was 5-6 people i saw never ever I recommend this hotel to my co citizens.

beautiful location about 1 hour and 30mins from the airport. The beach and pool are well maintained with staff attending to you poolside serving drinks and food. rooms are a reasonable size with free wifi and tv. Room service is fast and the food is of an excellent standard everyday. Thank you to all staff especially Dinesh for cleaning our room daily. Avani have another hotel within walking distance and you can use the facilities there also which is great.

The food menu needs a bigger variety, the same menu is served in the restaurant, poolside, room service and bar. It’s the same food all day.

you can’t use beach many mosquitoes in there. the normal room has many mosquitoes and lizard in there but deluxe is the best

Very helpful & kind staff. Hotel was very clean. Structure and activities well laid out. Anything can be arranged over a fair amount of time. Location of the hotel was also very good. What stood out and made our stay was Upeka. She was the star of the hotel in our eye. Always ready to help with a big smile. We will definitely come back very soon. Keep on counting days. 😊♥️

Clean spatious rooms, great pool area!! Good breakfast buffé.

When eating at the restaurant, the staff were too quick at taking away plates which made us a bit stressed. It was almost like they were in a hurry to get us out of there. Also, staff could sometimes be annoying, for example we got a call around 3 times a day to our room, where they just asked if we were happy with the room. I get that such service is nice to a certain amount, but it was just too much for us. There were people on the beach (outside hotel area) that sat around and watched people in the hotel area. We noticed this especially when sitting on our balcony, which made us very uncomfortable sitting there (so we stopped doing that).

Perfect place. Located on a small peninsula along with another more expensive hotel. Large and beautiful territory, which is carefully looked after. Quite varied and tasty food in the restaurant. Attentive and responsive staff. The managers allowed us early check-in and late check-out, which was very important considering our long night flights. Happy that we chose this hotel.

Fun pool table, nice bar area

Staff very demanding as soon as we arrived. Room was very small and dark. there was a cockroach in the hallway towards our room, many crows and loud children in pool area
