Nice, convenient

Very nice property right in downtown Salida. Would highly recommend if you going to Salida.

This place is the absolute best location in Salida! Everything was within a short walk. Be sure to bring your bikes because the mountain trails are just over the bridge. The accommodation was very clean, and very nicely decorated. Perfect for a solo vacation or couple.

Great location in downtown Salida, walking distance to most things, clean location, we did have to park about a block away from the location in the public parking but it wasn’t a far walk. And while the location was not loud, we were able to hear the vacuum cleaner being ran upstairs about 8 or 9 am. Overall we loved it and it was such a cute location with everything we needed for our weekend ski trip.

Only negatives I have are we didn’t have coffee grounds waiting as promised and the real estate agency above us cleaned at 8am on Sunday morning (not at all rentals fault just really loud)

We had a great stay in Salida due in part to the perfect location of the "hideaway." There was thoughtful attention to detail in the decor and amenities. Thank you.

Such a cute place, clean and so close to everything downtown!

First and probably foremost: the location of F Street Hideaway is pretty perfect. Less than a block from the Arkansas River and some great hiking/mountain biking trails. Catty corner from the town park/amphitheater. And an easy walk to all sorts of restaurants, galleries, boutiques ... even two grocery stores. The unit itself is ... different. It was clean except for a few dishes that needed some additional attention. It has all the essentials in terms of plates, coffee maker, towels, etc. Full size kitchen appliances. If you're into movies and the latest TV series, the smart TV has both Netflix and HBO Max, which is super generous. But there's something you need to understand that isn't made very clear in the property description: this is a basement unit. It has some tiny windows that let in a little natural light. But if you leave the shades open, people on the sidewalk above you can see right into the unit. And because you're in a central part of downtown, there are plenty of people on the sidewalk pretty much all the time. Another related issue that we ran into was the heating system. It works ok. But when we arrived, the thermostat was set to around 50º, which meant the unit was cold. And it took a while, like maybe 6-8 hours, for the place to get comfortably warm. Again, because this is a basement unit, the walls and floor stay cold even after the inside air is warm, so bring slippers for sure. Also, the owner/manager needs to provide warmer covers for the bed. Then there's the shower/toilet room. The only thing separating the shower from the toilet is the shower curtain. No wall. Not even a shower basin. It's all the same tile floor. And because the floor hasn't been properly sloped, water from the shower gets in front of the toilet, requiring you to use the big provided squeegee to pull the water back toward the drain. With all this said, the location still made for a nice stay. And once the unit got warm, it made for a cozy nest for two.

Great location. Why stay in a hotel when you can stay in this fun place.

This property met and exceeded all expectations. Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Salida!

Definitely a cute little hideaway!

We enjoyed our stay here. Loved the character of this basement apartment! Right in downtown Salida. Would stay here again. A few things for property manager to note. Listing should say no AC, it didn't bother us during our October stay but it may others. The shower temp was lukewarm, raise the hot water temp asmidgen. Could have used more comfortable bedding, sheets were scratchy, needed more blankets.

Location was great for being in the heart of everything! Steps away from restaurants and cute shops. Clean, newly remodeled and quiet.

Fantastic location in the center of everything! Loved the little private gate leading to the beautiful hidden bungalow downstairs.

The basement apartment has been turned into a very pleasing hideaway. The location is excellent!

I very much enjoyed the Hideaway. It was very comfortable and right in Downtown Salida. My only complaint was the guy who decided to clean the floors upstairs at 7:30 Sunday morning. I don’t know if that happens every Sunday.

Very nice, great location.

We enjoyed the layout, finishes, decor and ambiance of this place, but we found that there was a privacy issue, which was not resolved while we were there. Coming back from an evening jazz concert, we realized that the pull-down shade on the door had gaps on each side, and one side of the bed and the kitchen sink area could be seen. We hung a garbage bag, kitchen hand towels, and wax paper over the gaps and notified the manager, in the morning. They said they would tell the owner and take care of the problem immediately, but they never did anything about it while we were there, so we want to warn others about this. On Saturday night, there was a walking ghost tour group right outside our door and a lot of people constantly walking by, as well as a lot of traffic noise. We expected that, as the property is right down town on the main street, but we were very unnerved that the shade on the door does not provide total privacy. Also, the instruction manual in the room says to "leave the room clean..., as you found it." We always leave places tidy and reasonably clean, but we don't expect to have to clean before we leave. We paid a substantial cleaning fee, and it doesn't seem fair to be asked to leave the place "clean." The instructions say to take the trash out and leave it in the bin in the alley, but we could not find any such bin, so we had to leave it outside the door at the bottom of the stairs.

Great place, will stay again! So convenient to everything downtown!

We had a great time in downtown Salida! Adorable little apartment perfect for two people.

Loved the location. Great ambiance. All furnishingswere nice/comfortable. Amenities were terrific. Especially enjoyed the electric fireplace. We were lucky with the parking in that the 2 hour time limit of on street parking ends at 5 pm so got to park nearby overnight. Unfortunately was awoken both mornings early- once by vacuuming being done in office overhead and the other by garbage trucks picking up, dumping and replacing industrial bins.

Perfect location, easy walk to all our favorite downtown Salida shops, coffee cafes, restaurants, the river, and visits with friends! Host thought of everything. Electric fireplace made it very cozy. Would definitely stay here again!

This was an excellent place for my wife and me. The location was perfect for fishing, hiking, shopping and food. We hardly had to drive at all during our stay. The property was very well kept also. Thank you

Nice but kitchen was sparsely furnished. The shower did not drain so the floor was wet almost the entire time - no slope to floor to allow drainage.

A squeegee is provided, so that helps but the fan was still needed.2. A parking spot isn't provided or included, so plan to park in the untimed public parking along the park or nearby streets. We were able to park directly across the street with no problem during the week, but parking during a weekend stay may be a little more difficult. The management company can provide a parking map, which helps a ton!

Very comfortable and convenient location right in downtown Salida. The property was very updated and the full kitchen was great! This is the perfect spot to be close to everything Salida has to offer.
