Kona Makai 3-302 is a top floor, spacious condo with a great ocean view, two lanais and a loft! Essentially a 2 bedroom for the price of 1!

The Kona Makai is a beautiful, sunny, highly sought after Ocean Front Complex located on famous Alii Drive just 1.3 miles from Kailua Village. The Kona Makai features and includes lush tropical gardens, heated ocean front pool and spa, sunny lounge area, 2 work out rooms, eating area w/ gas BBQ’s, tennis courts, covered parking, free wireless internet, cable TV and is gated during the night for security. This is a top floor unit with a loft and high open beam ceilings. It has both front and back covered lanais with full sliding glass doors equipped with screens. The owners have thought of every possible amenity to accommodate your every need.

* Starting July 22nd Kona Makai will be starting the exterior painting project on Building 4.
Currently they are estimating between 1.5 - 2 Months to complete each building for this work.
Their current order for the painting of the buildings mentioned below with the possible affected dates.
Building 4 7/22 - 9-22
Building 5 9/22 - 11/22
Building 3 11/22 - 1/22
The painting and spalling contractor has agreed to take a break from work for Ironman and the Christmas holidays. Work will stop from October 21st-29th for Ironman. Work will stop from December 23rd- January 3rd for the Holidays
All dates are subject to change and Property Manager has no say or control in if dates are changed. Dates are given by the complex's hired painting vendor.
The mentioned work will be affecting access to units at possible given times between the work being done on the building. Kona Makai will be sending notices of more specific dates that access will be affected between work hours. We unfortunately cannot provide any given dates for this. Other areas such as lanai access will be affected during times as well. Furthermore the AC will also not be allowed during specific times/dates when the work is going on.
Noise and obstructed views are also to be expected between the dates mentioned.
Spalling repairs are to commence at Kona Makai on Building 1, 2, & 3. The scheduled dates for this are September. Their is currently no completion time for this project.*

Perfect place for a family vacation
Perfect place for a family vacation
This condo was a great place for us. It has much more of a down home feel than the newer resorts. Though the lay out was better than the more expensive places too. We loved grilling by the pool, which is also right by the ocean, watching dolphins from our patio, and the frequent sightings of geckos both outside and in!

This unit was perfect for our family of 4. Our kids, 12 and 14, loved the loft. The ladder is very steep so not suitable for young children. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the lanai. You can see the ocean when standing and sitting in one spot. If they had a higher table, bar height, the view would be better. We watched the sunset every night from the hot tub and pool, sometimes having the whole pool to ourselves. This condo is more suited for older children as kids under 14 are not allowed in the hot tub and strict rules for playing and splashing in the pool. We enjoyed not having a lot of young children around, very quiet and peaceful. The condo is in a great location to drive either north or south. You do need to drive at least 20-40 minutes to get to the nice white sand beaches. We didn't mind though, we drove around the entire island. Kona is close and you could walk, but we always drove as it was too hot to walk along the road. There wasn't much for beach supplies, no chairs or proper cooler, but we made do with what we had. Kitchen was well stock with everything you need. Family also enjoyed playing ping pong and tennis. The property management company was great to deal with, very responsive. We would totally stay here again!

We enjoyed a wonderful time at Kona Makai. Knutson and Associates staff were responsive to our inquires, fixed a squeaky toilet and helped us resolve an issue on checkout. Nothing beats a waterfront complex with a unit that has views from both lanais. Multiple air conditioning units kept us nice and cool.

Love the Kona Makai condo's! Great location, beautiful setting. First time in this condo. Very well set up, but did have a few minor issues. Ice maker in Refrigerator didn't work and no ice cube trays provided; blender didn't work; lovely selection of wine glasses, but no wine bottle opener; nice coffee maker, but would have been nice to have a few filters supplied. Since we were only there for 5 days, these items would have been appreciated. Otherwise, the place was great to stay in. Loft area was great for our granddaughter.

We enjoyed our stay here. The property is right on the water. Nice place to watch the sunset and the other occupants/tenants were friendly. The pool and jacuzzi were delightful. A few things I wish I knew before renting here. There's no coffee, you have to buy your own and there IS a hair dryer. The bathroom could definitely use some updating but that in no way affected our stay. I'm sure that sort of thing is important to some, but we just loved it and it was perfect for us.

The overall experience for this rental was amazing! The place was clean, had pretty well everything we needed for the week, and the communication with the rental company was seamless!.

We really liked that this property is away from the busier area, as you aren’t fighting traffic every time you go back and forth to places.

Nice location, but, need huge clean up- I mean carpet, wall , ceiling. I clean the bathroom fan stuck in the 1/2 inches dust. ... also the owner did not respect the contract prices

Clean, well equipped. Love the Hawaiian decor and nice view from the lanai for morning coffee or evening cocktails..Pool and BBQ overlooking ocean was awesome.
