A true "Hidden Gem"!! Great hosts, private, quiet, convenient to everything, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Oasis gardens and outdoor area. We will be back.

It's not often you find a place that welcomes animals, and this place is so welcoming to them, you are even welcomed with a "Hello" by one when you arrive.
The hosts were very kind, informing, and have made the whole place look wonderful. I especially loved that you are welcome to wander around the gardens, use the BBQ area/camp kitchen, and the swimming pool.
The price was excellent for what they offered. I spent quite some time looking for a decent priced room in the area, and was expecting only half the size and quality of what I found for the price.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. I'll be recommending your place to my family and friends.

The location and the off street parking. The bed was comfortable.
Lack of cutlery and plates to prepare a small snack, there was just two tea spoons, two coffee cups, two wine glasses and two plastic tumblers.
Bedroom fan, was either too high or ineffective.
No soap for the wash basin.
No information on how to use the TV, or what was on it.
The fact it was dog friendly, was not obvious when booking the accomodation, as we prefer not to use dog friendly establishments.
It certainly was not the three and a half star rating suggested by Booking.com.

Beautiful place, super friendly, helpful hosts. Comfortable room, lovely tropical gardens with great pool and bbq area. Friendly galah Kobe is a delight. Will definitely return.

An intimate homely retreat away from home where you can really enjoy the slower pace, connect with nature and yourself/partner. Mary & Ken were also really accommodating and gave you your own space.
That it was so lovely we wanted to stay longer but had to go back to work.

Lovely quiet, garden location but only a few minutes from town, beaches and trails.
Frendly owners on hand for any problems but feels as I'd you're in your own pricate garden (shared with a family of kangaroos).

I had fairly low expectations of our accommodation as it was inexpensive and sounded like a room and bathroom in someone's home. Well, I was greatly surprised and delighted at Smokey Cape Retreat. The owner was a delight and the amazing home appears to have been purpose-built for accommodation. I think each room had a separate entry from the verandah and was very quiet and private. The room we booked was described as larger - it had a huge bathroom, separate lounge area and cafe table area as well as a walk-through wardrobe and huge bedroom.

Ken was wonderful upon our arrival. He met us with a warm inviting smile. Explained the accommodation comprising an enormous bedroom and bathroom with spa bath. Opening onto a lush green tropical garden. The room had everything we needed to make coffee or tea. Totally faultless. We plan to return because of the area and wonderful hosts.

The property is lovely and the people are friendly and easy to deal with. We enjoyed the quietness and the little extras like comfortable lounges and the outdoor kitchen

Owners were amazing, very accommodating! Facilities were great, can't wait to get back there in summer. We had a spa room and really enjoyed the spa after a long day driving. We felt very welcome with our small dog there too. Thank you!
Minor point - fridge/freezer wasn't as cold as I would have liked.
