the hotel has a very good feeling about it (from the street, nice facade, beautiful lobby and an back garden where the room are, hence very quiet).

Although the hotel does not have a parking lot, it was easy to park in the street and the neighbourhood is safe.
A 24x7 convenience store 2 minutes away,
city center, shops, restaurants within 10 minutes walk.

Nice surprise also, Valladolid is worth the stop...
Cannot rate the breakfast due to an early departure.
Although it turned out not to be an issue, we were worried about parking.

Heerlijk hotel op rustige plek in Valladolid, super vriendelijk personeel, Jesus is echt een topper! Geweldige uitvalsbasis voor Chichen Itza en om Valladolid te verkennen. Scooter verhuur is dichtbij en voldoende taxi’s in de buurt om je overal heen te brengen

De gastheer Jesus is geweldig en kan echt alles. Van receptie tot in de keuken tot het dak op om reparaties uit te voeren. We hebben veel tips van hem ontvangen om te doen in de omgeving.
De douche gaf iedere ochtend een zwakke straal en koud water. We hebben dit beide keren gemeld en toen werd het ook verholpen.

The place is very nice to have a break from the busy and warm city. The pool and trees make it peaceful. Jesus the host was very helpful and gave us a map with great recommendations. The breakfast was simple but tasty and it’s nice to sit with other guests.
Curtains could be darker and bigger to fit the windows better because you get awakened by the light. The shower was hard to control (either really warm or really cold)

The location ist great - you can reach the small city by feet, but you can also go for a run in the woods. The staff - especially Jesus - is super nice and we felt very welcomed, got recommandations etc. Thank you!
The pool was suuuuuper cold - colder than the cenotes ;) there were so many mosquitos, but that´s nothing Refugio could do anything against haha. Unfortunately the neighbourhood is very noisy - barking dogs all day and night long, fireworks and several BBQ parties (?) with loooud music.

Loved the jungle like setting and colonial reception area. We really liked manager Jesus and the fresh breakfasts and attentive breakfast servers
The hotel location is on a busy street not pleasant to walk. Our room didn’t have hooks or shelving to put our things. Also there was no separate bathroom door and the light switches were not well located.

No hay estacionamiento por lo que dejamos el coche en la acera, por suerte encontramos un lugar libre justo en frente

Le lieu avec la piscine est très jolie, le lit confortable. L’accueil avec pleins de conseils de choses à faire, de cenotes a voir.
Pas d’eau chaude, ni de débit au niveau du pommeau de douche.
Les rideaux ne couvre pas du tout la luminosité et pas très intimiste.
Cuisinière le matin très froide et nonchalante (elles nous ont proposé du pain qui n’est jamais arrivé, car trop occupé sur leur téléphone)

Een prachtige oase van rust in de stad. Fijn bed, airco, zwembad en heel groen met de planten ondanks dat het in de stad ligt.
De gordijnen zijn meer voor de sier daardoor heb je wel een slaapmasker nodig als je wilt uitslapen. Op de badkamer kan het vrij warm worden.
Jesus was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

This place grew on us.
We were on our honeymoon and had been staying in pretty lush places. This wasn't exactly what we had expected.
However, Jesus makes this place. By far the best host we had our whole time in Mexico. So helpful and accomodating, nothing was too hard for him.
Location is fantastic, breakfast was nice, and rooms are spacious.
I think a little maintenance to the rooms would go a long way.
The biggest thing for me was the mosquitos, bitten from the moment we were checking in. We made sure to have all windows and doors closed at all times to keep them out. To be fair it did rain/storm everyday which wouldn't have helped with all the mosquitos.
Pool isn't really usable due to the mosquitos hanging around.

The pool was a bit green and needed cleaning to remove algae. Hopefully they resolve it soon as it is a nice pool area to lounge in.

Stayed here for three nights and really loved it. The rooms are very big and the swimming pool is amazing. The garden looks so beautiful, it felt like we were staying in the middle of the jungle. The guy who works here, Jesus, is very kind and helpful. Good and extensive breakfast is also included.

The hotel is beautiful, with 6 spacious rooms in a nice garden with lovely swimming pool. It is a 5 min walk to the center of Valladolid so all highlights are within walking distance. Valladolid is a great little city and with quite some really nice Cenotes very close by. The staff at the hotel were super nice, made us feel very welcome and provided detailed info on place to eat and see. I can warmly recommend this hotel for visits to Valladolid!

The overall feel of the hotel felt like you were tucked away in nature, so relaxing. Yet, it is in town so it was walking distance to a lot of shops and eateries.
Breakfast was included which was convenient.
The staff was friendly and very accommodating!!! Jesus at the front desk offered great recommendations. The ladies in the kitchen served up delicious breakfast. And our rooms got cleaned every day during our stay which we didn't expect.
I wished the room had coffee maker and microwave.
There were two chairs and a small table but a tiny fridge sat on one of the chairs so only one person can sit. There were two low-hanging pendant lights near the table, level of my shoulder so they were in my face. These hanging lights need to be pulled up higher to avoid obstruction.

Great location in Valladolid. About 1 km from the Center but easy walk towards it. Nice comfy rooms (only 6) with good shower and airco, central pool. Good breakfast. If you look at the front door you cannot imagine that such a nice area is behind these doors. Jesus is a very friendly host and speaks good English.

Beautiful, looks just like the pictures. The whole thing was just a very cool space and Jesus is very kind. The bed was comfortable and I loved that they had jugs to refill water instead of bottled.
Our shower had zero water pressure so it was hard to wash my hair, But it almost seemed like there was something wrong with it that day, not sure if this is a daily thing.

We had such a nice time at Hotel Refugio41, the whole place is hidden behind a door that you open to discover a few small houses in the middle of a very nice garden. The room was spacious and very well decorated. The pool was definitely a plus as the temperatures were quite high. The hotel is located in a more local part of Valladolid which is nice if you want to get away from the touristy activities and still be able to access it by foot. Jesus was very responsive and had really nice recommendations.
The breakfast was very good but could be a bit more varied if you’re staying a bit longer.
