Ilias met us at Pyrgos square with the donkey for our luggage on arrival, he had plenty of recommendations and showed us around the house which was great. Nice shops, restaurants and stunning sunset views only a very short walking distance from house. Amazing views from the balcony and rooftop. Great kitchen provided. Bedrooms are very small and awkward to get into as it is a traditional cave house, we had to store all luggage in the living room. Bottles of cold water were provided in the fridge which was nice as you can’t drink the tap water in Santorini. Hosts allowed us to store our luggage for a further 1.5 hours after checkout which was helpful.

The location was spectacular, it was quiet and well appointed. Staying in Prygos over Easter was amazing. There was fireworks, Easter church services and the whole mountain side lit up for the Epiphany on Good Friday

It was all good. Be aware that the house is a bit of a walk up from the square. The views on the way are stunning while you catch your breath.

Kastro Cave is the cutest place to spend a week on Santorini. Tucked away at the top of Pyrgos, just next to Saint Georges Church we could watch the sunrise from our bedroom window and watch it going down at the lovely Franco’s just by the church. Tanya and Ilias were the best of hosts, nothing was to much trouble and help with transfers and arranging trips made our stay easy and stress free. The accommodation was fresh, styled and extremely comfortable. One of the best experiences of holiday hospitality we’ve experienced.
