Exceptional hotel. The staff and facilities are just wonderful. I stayed with my dog and we both had an amazing time. It is so great to visit a hotel with such kind staff in every encounter and it is a true credit to the hotel management! I would definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
It is perfect!

Amazing dinner, food sublime. Amazing views. Nice compact room. Helpful staff, great location. Gym and pool beautiful. Whilst its expensive everything is great except the breakfast with is overpriced, slow and average.
Breakfast very poor and very, very expensive. Took 45 minutes to get a cooked egg that was then served cold and nearly 1hr to get raw oats.

Everything I guess: the amazing view, location, hotel atmosphere, the staff, breakfast was also good,

One of the best resorts in the world. The location, the hotel and the Villars village are magical.

Staff was really nice and attentive. Room had a beautiful view. Breakfast buffet was amazing.
Not too sure why the parking valet asked for our room number when we left. Did he think we sneaked out without checking out?

Great traditional palace hotel. Large comfy room, sophisticated bar, lounge and restaurant with large terrace. Super attentive staff. More than you could want for breakfast.

Amazing restaurant for dinner or breakfast. Apart from the amazing price (mortgage required) it was exceptional. I would stay elsehwere but use the restaurant again!
The room was a let down. I knew the building from before it was (recently) converted and I was expecting amazing things... but the lack of heating control in the room and lack of A/C meant the room was baking hot. The answer was to leave the windows open, but as it was still not into the winter season and very warm outside, I was eaten alive by mosquitos all night! The decor finish just was not justified by the £700 per night cost. Shame really. I wouldnt stay again.

Beautifully restored and well-kept building with ample public spaces, new gym and spa, great restaurants, and of course the location with views. A great place. Most of all, the staff -- very professional and friendly. Nothing was impossible for them.

Amazing building, great renovation, great housekeeping standard (e.g. turndown service), fantastic details (manually folded curtain bottoms in the rooms), great location, great bed, great views, very good food, nice floor bar concept, nice toiletries, great selection of books in the lobby, nice swimming pool, beautiful gym, excellent breakfast buffet with several local specialities. I got upgraded and had a much better room than the one I booked, which was a very nice surprise.
The place could truly be world-class, but unfortunately the interior design is a complete miss! It looks like a B-league interior design bureau would have compiled a mood board by looking at the wrong Instagram channels.
The entrance hall just doesn't work and the furniture of the common areas feels cheap and already passé. The corridors are decorated with "inspiring" quotes that are just one notch above the "I [heart] travel" and "welcome home" you would see in some medium-range AirBnBs.
The whole design concept revolves around "Origins" (was it sponsored by Nespresso?): walking along the corridors, you are told stories about the Mustang people of Nepal, the ancient Kingdom of Ko, and some remote Papua New Guinea tribes, complete with pictures in loincloth.
Instead of acting as the "invitation au voyage" it was presumably sold as, the elements take away the attention from the historical details and from the views. The exoticizing of indigenous people feels off and will not miss to trigger the first group of American lefties passing by the station.
Instead of connecting me with my human origins as it was trying hard to do, the place made me feel like I was in some random airport Novotel. If Villars Palace really insists to have information written on its walls (please don't!), then at least something about the origins of the hotel, about Swissness or maybe about some local artisans or athletes would work better.
