Cute place with updated kitchen. We enjoyed the bikes and kayaks! The only thing that needs replacing is the couch. Couch is cute to look at but is not comfortable at all to sit on.

We had an amazing time and the property was awesome. My only complaint is that they had pans for baking or roasting to make the Thanksgiving meal. Luckily there was a Dollar Tree down the road and we picked up what we needed.

We loved the location, but the place definitely needs a new couch that is actually comfortable to sit on. We had to buy our own skillet and baking sheet to use while there. Bring all the basics with you like toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, salt/pepper, oil, spices…. if any were provided (most was not) it was in a minuscule amount.

Key Colony is a perfect location for a boaters vacation. I’m posting a long detailed review, and I’d consider both pros vs cons before booking if I were you. We stayed here for 2 weeks. This house has a dock with fresh water and a cleaning station along a wide canal that makes for easy turnaround. As for the outside of this property, it is well kept up for the most part. It was surrounded with crushed coral gravel which makes it a little hard to walk on when carrying things in/out of the house. The grill is in good shape as of 12/2022, however the property manager said he didn’t think there was any propane and we’d have to fill it if we wanted to use the grill…I felt that was cheap on their behalf,..it should be full as it is every other place we’ve stayed in Marathon,..so used our own grill that we keep on our boat. Inside the house we found the kitchen to be totally stocked with newer utensils, appliances, and plenty of dishes, glasses, cups, etc. The kitchen has been remodeled recently and everything worked and was mostly clean upon arrival. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very dated even loose tiles and grout on walls…and upon arrival were NOT very clean at all. Hair on floor of bathrooms, dust bunnies in corners of bedrooms and under beds, ceiling fans dusty, area rug stained and nasty, dirty vents,…you get the picture. The AC is not balanced very well. In the main master, you will be froze out at night to try and keep the other 2 bedrooms at a medium cool all night. The upside to that is the AC does blow very cold! There is a separate AC unit in the living room area that does a fair job cooling the living, dining and kitchen areas. Washer and Dryer work great. All of the furniture in the house is cheap, rickety and very uncomfortable…some of it broken. Bait freezer in the garage is nice but a bit hard access because of so much stuff in there. The Pool at the Cabana is really nice. Great Staff and strong drinks at a reasonable price! There is a full time resident in the other side of this duplex. She WILL engage you in conversation so if you prefer to be left alone, that’s something to factor in. Plus she has a foul mouth with zero filter. The property manager required a $1000 refundable deposit at booking. It took 3 weeks for this to be processed after I called/messaged multiple times, very annoying but we finally got it. Overall we had another great marathon vacation and will return,…but we will not stay at this house again.
