This house is gorgeous and is literally steps from the beach. It's close to grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops as well. We have ample space for a family of 8. It was unfortunate that Hurricane Derby was in town the same time we were there and we weren't able to spend as much time on the beach as we would like. But because of the proximity to the beach, we were able to run to the beach quickly and played for an hour or two before the rain poured again. Love the layout of the house. Nice kitchen with everything you need and the top floor was really nice. All of us enjoyed hanging out in the covered middle deck. The outdoor shower with door was nice to get all the sand off before going into the house. Would love to come back to topsail again and stay here again.

Days before we arrived, Jody reached out to us regarding an impending tropical storm. She was extremely communicative and went above & beyond to accommodate us. Thanks to her we made it down to Surf City safely and found everything about the property to be in excellent condition. It was exactly as described: clean, fully equipped, and charming. Our week at the beach was completely relaxing. Easy St was quiet yet centrally located so that we were able to walk out the door and onto the beach in less than two minutes, and we were able to rent bikes and ride them into town every morning for breakfast. If you have high standards for location, cleanliness, and great communication then “The Big Easy” is for you. It’s a wonderful home to rent. We loved it!

I cannot more highly recommend this home. It was a short stroll to the beach access and was well appointed with everything you could possibly need for a great trip. I am already looking at my calendar for the rest of the fall and trying to plan a trip back.

Everything you could ever need is at this house. It is beautiful comfortable clean and has an amazing view and is a 5 minute walk to the beach. You don't need to bring anything beach chairs and beach towels multiple umbrellas and comfortable beds!

We loved our week at the Big Easy! It has such a great layout with 2 living areas, and we appreciated all the personal touches. It was so nice having high quality linens, comfy mattresses, beach gear, soap, paper towels, etc to start out with. And the home is decorated so beautifully. We definitely plan to come back. Our group was 2 senior citizens, 2 sets of parents, and three children and this house was perfect for us! The walk to the beach took all of 2 mins and it is right near a handicap accessible beach entrance which made it easy to bring all our supplies in the wagon that was provided. Having two living areas was super convenient and the view from the top deck was gorgeous. About a 5 min drive to all the restaurants and shops in surf city and quick to get to from the bridge. Both the owner and property manager were very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a great time and hope to be back soon!

This was a great house for our family. All of the conveniences were there and everything was perfectly clean. There was an abundant supply of beach items, including chairs, toys, towels and umbrellas.
The house has two large gathering rooms, one on the main floor with the kitchen, and another upstairs. Both have big screen TVs and comfortable sofas. Overall it was perfect for our needs. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, including a few things we forgot to bring. It helped us save a trip to the grocery store for a couple of forgotten items. We had 3 generations in the house and everything we needed was available, including a crib and a baby gate.
There are two great porches, one on the main floor with shade, and the upper porch with the clearest view of the ocean.
Another important quality was the immediate responses we got for any questions we had. It really helped us understand what we needed to know in advance and during the stay.

Had the most amazing time at the Big Easy. This immaculately kept home did not disappoint. Between communication with Christine, the house manager and the Owner, I felt at ease and knew we picked the perfect house. There was nothing we could have wanted as the owners have thought off eveeything for your convenience! The tastefullness of the decor in everyroom should be noted and appreciated because you truly feel so comforted and in your own living space. I will think fondly of my stay here and cannot wait to book again! Thank you for an incredible time in your most wonderous house!

What a great house, awesome location and stocked with all the beach essentials... sand toys, beach chairs, umbrellas and even beach towels. Plus lots of spices, cookware and plenty of dishes in the kitchen to make cooking and serving dinner easier. The view from the decks is wonderful, such a relaxing and fun stay! We hope to be back!

This house was perfect for or stay with 4 adults 2 small children and 2 dogs! It had everything we could have needed for the kids and the dog run was so convenient for the pups! This is probably one of the best vacation rental homes I’ve ever stayed in. It was super clean and very well-kept. It was fully stocked with anything you might need for your vacation. The location was excellent and the view from the decks was amazing. Beds were super comfortable and the linens were excellent quality. There are plenty of bath and beach towels to go around. All of the appliances are in excellent shape and work very well. I would definitely recommend staying at this property and hope to go back again someday.

My husband, sister, parents and in laws stayed at The Big Easy and it was absolutely perfect. The house is around the corner from a public beach access point, and has ocean views from both decks. The layout is spacious and gave us all enough breathing room to have our own spaces while also having large public rooms to come together in. We had one of the most relaxing holidays we have had in a while just walking on the beach, cooking in the massive kitchen and doing puzzles and games at night. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. All the beds were comfortable and the upstairs additional living space was so nice to have; we had some incredible sunrises and dolphin spotting from the upper deck. We will be back!

We’ll be back because we need a do-over! 😊 This home is decorated beautifully, not cluttered, the beds were comfortable, and since we had rain most of our stay there was a lovely covered deck to hang out on, tvs everywhere and a well appointed kitchen. Finding a dog friendly home this nice was a Bonus! Communication with the liaison and the owner was excellent and check-in/check-out was a breeze!

I wish I could give this 10 stars! Everything was PERFECT. The location is amazing, 2nd row and a short walk to the beach. The owners supply everything. We've stayed in well-stocked rentals before but this place puts them all to shame! And not just a bunch of old beat up junk. Everything was really nice! There was tons of space for the 6 of us (we were supposed to have 8) and our dog. The view from the balcony was beautiful. Lots of living/hang out space. Kitchen fully stocked. Everything seemed new and fresh and clean. And the house was so beautifully decorated! The property manager texted me just after 7 the morning of our arrival to let us know the house was ready and we could go anytime, and on check out day she said there wasn't a renter that day and we could stay longer if we'd like! Unheard of! I created a VRBO folder called "Must go back" for this house. Thank you so much!

The house is gorgeous, but more important to me, it is CLEAN! It was stocked with so many essentials, it felt like staying at your best friend’s house. Our family enjoyed the comfortable outdoor furniture (not grimy, rusty, or falling apart, but cushioned, clean, and inviting) and views of the ocean made the spacious decks one of our favorite spots. I have never slept so well in a vacation home. Our top three favorite things about the house were the outdoor shower, beautiful kitchen, and playground a short stroll from the house.

This was our second year staying at the Big Easy and it was just as good as our first. The kitchen has everything you need. Just bring what you want to cook, and even then it has a lot of spices and ingredients to prepare your meals. Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and toys are available for use. Great views as well! Easy access to the beach and close to several restaurants and shops. It's hard to beat this place!

This is a fantastic home for a family vacation! The home has all you could possibly need, including so many beach towels, chairs, and boogie boards (these were a hit for the kids). Beds and linens are very comfy and the home is extremely clean. I am a complete neat-freak and often prefer hotels to rental properties because many times, even with 5 stars, I worry about cleanliness of rentals when it comes down to the details. This is the cleanest VRBO I have stayed in, from the outdoor furniture, fresh bath mats, and clean cupboards…..I cannot recommend this home enough!

If you’re looking for the perfect beach side getaway at a gorgeous house with everything you need to enjoy a day at a beautiful beach, then look no further than The Big Easy! The property itself is amazing and makes you feel like you’re on an HGTV show that showcases amazing beach houses. Jody and crew have the place stocked with everything you need to have a great time. It was so nice being feet from the beach and not having to worry about cramming chairs and towels into the back of a car. Surf City itself is a really fun beach side community with lots of little things to do away from the water and really great seafood and dining options. Up until a month ago I had never heard of Surf City but now I can’t wait to go back and checking availability at The Big Easy will be the first place I start!

The Big Easy was just as described, although the feeling of being close to the ocean was even better than we were expecting! We had a lovely view of the ocean from both the second and (especially) third floor decks, and opening the large sliding glass doors allowed us to hear the waves even when in the house. The home was immaculate, well-stocked, and extremely welcoming. High-quality amenities from towels to bedding to beach chairs made a huge difference! Check in was flawless and Jody was extremely responsive and kind in answering questions before our arrival. A true gem of a home and a wonderful booking experience.
