De retour de votre escapade, regagnez votre petit nid pour les vacances afin de vous détendre grâce à un jardin, à une terrasse privée où déguster un savoureux cocktail ou encore à du mobilier d'extérieur. The property was clean, excellent condition, and up to date. Had everything we needed for our stay. Including shampoo, soap, plates, snack, and so much more. They thought of all the things someone would need if they forgot anything. It was cute little cottage and was perfect for my families stay!

Our stay at the cottage filled the bill for a comfortable and convenient home base for exploring the lower Hudson Valley. The hosts were efficient and responsive. The cottage is compact but well laid out for four people. Little touches like ambient lighting in the main room were nice touches.

The cottage itself is adorable with a lot of attention to detail. The upstairs is a little tricky—spiral staircase is very steep and not for the faint of heart and ceiling is very low (I’m 5’10” and banged my head several times in search of an extra blanket). The property is in very close proximity to owner’s house as well as neighbors’. Outdoor party going on my second night which I was warned about only after my arrival. Even with windows and bedroom door closed it was noisy (music, party fun, motorcycle engines, etc.) even though music kindly stopped around 10 or so. There is also a rooster (I love roosters) who definitely believes early bird gets the worm by 5:30. Not a problem if you know in advance but I didn’t. Lots of thoughtful notes around to help you navigate house rules and find things. Froze my first night because I didn’t know thermostat could be changed. Could use a note there on how to operate. No bedside lamp for reading, just overhead. No place to walk a dog or stretch your legs. Not at all private, but again, a beautiful cottage. VRBO app wasn’t working properly (not the fault of property owners) which made for some miscommunications by text. I think the pix on VRBO are really nice and accurate about the interior, but the exterior isn’t well represented. The location is great because hiking is easily in reach, but again, you can’t walk anywhere. Road is too busy, no sidewalks, etc. Again, as a fan of tiny houses and architecture I thoroughly appreciated the elegant, simple beauty of the cottage itself.

Review
When we arrived on the property we were very horrified and disappointed to find that we were deceived regarding the actual circumstances of the property. The photos were strategically taken and words deceptively used to describe a lone property when in fact it was a tiny guest cottage that was actually located tightly behind the owner’s property snug between parked vehicles and a work shed. The space was cluttered and less than ideal to spend a paid vacation.
The shed itself was renovated with modern amenities featuring a two level space equipped with two bedrooms.
The upstairs bedroom is only accessible by a narrow unsecured staircase which was was pointed out by the owner as unsafe yet unfixed as we rented the property.
The bannister leading upstairs was extremely shaky and I would only advise use at your own risk.
Unfortunately we were unable to utilize the upstairs bedroom due to safety concerns
The owners were very active on the property leaving us very little privacy and extreme discomfort.
They advertised the availability of a grill onsite but later disclosed privately that there was a fee of $15 to utilize the grill. The availability of appropriate grill
utensils were also lacking.
The area where the grill is located is very close to the owners property and very uncomfortable to
hang out if that was the intention of the trip. The owners were also very loud interrupting our stay with loud music in backyard.
Bottom line, the cottage is cute and nicely renovated but extremely inconvenient if you plan to have any experience other than sleeping there. I would definitely not recommend this property.

The property outside of the apartment was an absolute mess. The cottage - needs to be represented that way, was extremely clean inside and well stocked but with 4 adults it was way too small inside. Luckily, we had nice weather so could be outside. It was incredibly expensive and was upset that we were asked to pay $15 PER USE of the grill. I think out of everything that upset me the most. We paid (after fees and taxes) just under $700 for two nights and we didn’t get use of the grill for no extra charge.

The property manager could not have been any nicer, communicated effectively, provided her cell phone number, provided a high chair, and even provided a ride on toy for my son. The only reason this wasn’t a 5-star rating is I felt the listing does not appropriately show what you are renting as far as the location. The listing shows a cottage that seems to not be in close distant to any other property, however, the cottage is in the backyard of another house, there’s an active business on the property, people walking around all day, and miscellaneous broken down items and tools throughout the surrounding property. The cottage itself and absolutely beautiful, however, I would have liked to know fully what we were renting as we were really looking for a quiet somewhat private getaway.

The cottage was quite new, with a well-appointed kitchen in a compact space. The living area was cozy and comfortable as was the bedroom. We didn’t use the second bedroom upstairs, although we went up there and it was quite roomy. (It would be difficult to bring luggage up the spiral staircase.) The cottage has a cute front porch, and there is a patio seating area just off the porch for sitting or dining. Great location—quiet and also close to shopping, restaurants, Bear Mountain Parkway.

The cottage has a cute front porch, and there is a patio seating area just off the porch for sitting or dining. Great location—quiet and also close to shopping, restaurants, Bear Mountain Parkway.

We drove in from Michigan for the Westminster dog show .
This listings worked great with stores and restaurants close by and easy access to Hwy for traveling .
We plan to return and next year.
