Everything about this property exceeded expectations. The views are amazing and the location is very convenient. We loved it and will definitely be back!

The pictures in the listing tell it all. The view is really that beautiful. Our family of 4 lived in the outdoor living area by the pool. It was perfect for reading a book in the morning. It was shady or sunny, depending on your pleasure, after a day of snorkeling at the many, wonderful beaches. It was also an incredible setting for twilight discussions with the family about the stars, the clouds, the islands and everything in between...and/or a nice game of Yahtzee. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and our teenage daughter loved the privacy of the suite downstairs. The hosts were superb in every way. St. John and the USVI National Park is a treasure, and I hope to do the exact same trip, including Ginger Thomas, again and again.

Loved the view, the location, the accommodations especially ice packs, coolers, beach bags, beach chairs and snorkels. Made the small simple pleasures of beach packing such a big help! Especially since traveling by plane. THANK YOU!!

Great view of Cruz Bay and the ferry harbor. Sunsets over St Thomas were spectacular. Highly recommend.

We had a fabulous time in St John and our villa added to that wonderful experience! Coffee on the patio every morning - dip in the pool after a day at the beach - watching the beautiful sunsets - doesn’t get much better than that!! And Karen was so responsive to any questions we had and so pleasant to talk to. We loved our stay and hope to be back some day!!

Communication with the owners deserves 7 stars. They great and very responsive. VRBO accepts American Express; the owners do not. This led to conflicting payment accepted and payment rejected messages. The owners helped clear up the issue and made payment easy. The only negative was the small hot water heater. Showers always ran low on hot water, but recovery was quick. All parties had the same hot water to begin and all ran low at the end. This is really the best VRBO where we have stayed. All thumbs up.

Ginger Thomas was a perfect house for two couples. Unbeatable views, perfect for the sunset. Five minute drive to town, plenty of markets close by. You definitely will want a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get around island. Ample outdoor space was a plus!

The house provided everything we needed for a wonderful time in St. John. And the views are spectacular! The location was great and close to grocery stores and restaurants. The beaches on St. John are beautiful and the owner made it even better by providing beach bags full of towels, coolers, beach chairs and masks with snorkels. The pool was an added bonus for our trip. We had a great time! But the views from the terrace - I can't get over the views!!

My wife and I really enjoyed our time at the villa. The view was absolutely amazing and the back deck allowed for tons of space to spread out and enjoy the island views. The owner/manager was very responsive and was very easy to work with. We loved our time on St. John and will definitely return! I rated the villa 4 stars overall, but it could easily be a 5 star property with a few minor modifications. For example, there was only air conditioning in the bedrooms, which is great for sleeping, but if you want to spend any real time in the common areas, you’re going to be hot. Additionally, all of the disappearing sliding doors are a fantastic idea, but the installation quality was poor. For example, if you closed both the screen sliding doors as well as the glass sliding doors, it left a gap large enough for the neighborhood cats to get right into the house and take advantage of whatever food you may have left unsecured (this happened on our first night). Lastly, there was zero water pressure in the upstairs shower, so you couldn’t run water anywhere in the house while the shower was in use, or the water would just drip out of the shower head. Again, all seemingly simple things that would make the property a 5 star villa.

The design of the house is excellent, very open kitchen/living room to deck, making it very easy to basically live inside-outside. Bedroom and bath provide privacy, though. Nice bedroom, big bed. Nice bathroom with neat walk-in shower. Pool is very small, but we enjoyed it more than we thought we would. The view from the deck of the Bay and St Thomas is awesome. Pictures are very accurate. Owner was very communicative and responsive to requests. They provided water and packaged snacks as a welcome, which was very nice when you haven't gone to the store yet. Restaurants in Cruz Bay are right down the hill, literally a 2 minute drive. That's a big advantage to this location. It puts you right near stuff to do, short drive to beaches, ferry and boat tours. We loved St John, much more than St Thomas. It's mostly national park, so driving around is engulfed in nature, and every few corners bring you to another bay and beaches. Then you can return to this house for views and restaurants in the evening.

The house was beautiful and location was amazing ! Well exceeded our expectations. The sunsets are unobstructed and outdoor deck and pool are a plus . The owners were great at communicating and answered any questions we had . Will be back and would highly recommend!

We love our stay at Ginger Thomas! From our initial communication while we awaited our stay at St. John to our rocky arrival, due to crazy weather. Karen & Dan were amazing. They are very attentive and great to communicate with. The villa was perfect, had everything you needed for your stay. all the beach stuff (chairs/beach towels etc), kitchen was very well equipped and the whole villa was so clean!. The bedrooms on 2 different floors were ideal for privacy with two couples. The outdoor space was so great, beautiful views, lovely dipping pool, the grill and outdoor seating - all fantastic. I couldn't recommend this villa and the owners more! I would go back! and wish i were there now : )

Close to Cruz Bay but far enough to be quiet and private! Pool and patio are fantastically relaxing. The view at night is stunning and made it necessary for a pre-dinner selfie each night!

This villa is a quick drive into Cruz Bay. The villa itself is charming, the indoor/outdoor living is perfect. We used the pool every afternoon after going to the beach. We can't wait to stay here again!

We stayed here in Sept 2023 and were so pleased with our stay. Everything we needed and more. Snorkel equipment, chairs, canopy, and coolers were provided. AC was cold, beds were comfy and the kitchen and outdoor area was fully stocked with everything for grilling, cooking or just making drinks. Lots of outdoor seating and having the pool at night was a major plus? Downtown and the grocery store are at the bottom of the hill, so, fun, the ferry and conveniences were right outside our door. I’d definitely stay here again! Karen and Dan were great to work with too!

We loved our stay at this home. Kitchen had anything we could need. Nice beach chairs were a huge plus! We brought our own snorkel gear, but love that 2 sets were provided as well. AC was only in the bedrooms, not main area, so we did end up putting all 3 kids in one room. Overall a great experience.

Can’t wait for another visit

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ginger Thomas villa. Perfect space for our family and an amazing view. We plan to return as soon as possible.

Ginger Thomas well exceeded our expectations! It offers a clean, comfortable and spacious floor plan with 2 Master Suites (one which is private downstairs) that was perfect for my husband and our friends to stay at! The outdoor patio and pool area were great after a long day at the beach! Last but certainly not least, the amazingly beautiful views from this property are second to none! Also our hosts, Karen and Dan, we’re very accommodating and if we had any questions they answered us immediately. We can’t wait to be able to stay here again in the future :) R. Hughes

It was well equipped with everything that we needed including beach towels, beach chairs and a sun shade (although we didn’t use because we were able to find shade at all the beautiful beaches). The road up to the house is bumpy and challenging at first, but worth it for the view during morning coffee, afternoon drinks or just while relaxing in the pool. We will definitely stay here again!

This was a wonderful, clean and well appointed 2 bedroom home. We stayed for 3 days prior to meeting our family and wish we could have stayed longer! The plunge pool and beautiful views were perfect. We will return. Tara was a great communicator and even met me with my swimsuit that I left behind. Thank you!

Excellent condition, service and views!

The property was as described and Tara was very responsive and helpful to questions and information. Could not ask for more for late day relaxing in the pool, large patio for happy hour and dinner and watching the amazing sunsets.
