Property had all the amenities you could need and more. The beds we’re comfortable and the living areas great for family time. The backyard was great for cornhole, frisbee and a glass of wine in the evening.

Our stay at the Carmel River Retreat was fantastic! We were in Carmel Valley for a friend's wedding. There were six of staying in the house. The house is beautiful, spotless and had every amenity that one could possibly need. It was wonderful to wake up in the morning, make our coffee and sit out on the deck listening to the birds chirping, the relaxing sound of the river that is directly behind the house and greeting our day before our various activities. When we walked into the house, there was a detailed binder with information about the house, as well as, a bottle of wine and chocolates. There was also a basket with items to make s'mores by the fire pit. Such thoughtful gestures! Marco was our Guest Services Coordinator and was extremely helpful. He let us borrow his personal steamer for the weekend, which came in handy for our wedding guest attire. Marco texted me a few hours after we checked into the house to make sure that everything was ok and to let me know to text him if we had any issues/questions during our stay. When we stopped by the office on the day we arrived, Ramona was delightful and welcoming! We all commented at the end of our stay that we wished we had a couple more days just to hang out and relax as the house was so conducive to relaxing. We were quite busy with wedding activities at Bernardus Lodge and Spa that is less than five minutes from the house. We hope to stay at this property again in the future! Cheers!

The house was beautiful, spacious, and we had a great time with the grill and hot tub and foosball etc. Would definitely recommend!

4 couples for a relaxing getaway. Great home to visit and catch up. The river was rolling from all the rain and it was beautiful and sounded fantastic. Loved everything about this place! Great spot for valley weekend.

Accurately described in the listing. One slider door in back was broken (did not lock). Did not receive access code until after 4:00 pm checkin time. We were waiting in the rain. Calls went to voicemail. Finally may daughter on her phone was able to get the code from the manager.

We were very happy with the house. The beds were very comortable, the house was clean. The thoughtful accomodations, including the bottle of wine and smoes ingidiens left for us, made us feel welcome. We had a wondeful time, enjoying the house and beautulf yard and it's visitors - turkey family was visiting in the morning. We are sure, we'll come again next time.

This was the best getaway experience ever! The location was amazing! So beautiful! And the home is new, equipped with more conveniences and dishes that you can possibly use! The backyard is wide open spaces. The whole place was perfect for my mothers 94th birthday! It was equipped for my mother as well as my 2 year old granddaughter! We had 4 generations of fun! The hosts were also the most communicative, responsive and understanding I've ever met. They make sure your stay is wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We will definitely be going back here if it's available. If you're looking for a place in this area, I strongly recommend this getaway!

We have stayed at hundreds of vacation rentals and I have never given a poor review until now. We had initially planned a 5 nite family reunion at this property. My wife and I arrived, and the outside temp was 100+ and interior was 90 degrees. We turned on the air conditioning, but the side of the house w/ the 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms didn't cool off. I called the property management company rep, who verbally shrugged ("there is no A/C in the bedrooms but there are some fans"). I pointed out that the VRBO ad title said ""4/2 house with air conditioning" and nothing in the property description mentioned that the bedrooms/baths had no A/C (the management company has since revised the VRBO ad). After discussing w/ our adult kids, they decided to wait a few days to come to the property when the weather (forecast) was expected to cool off and the bedroom temps were expected to be bearable (my grandson is 1 years old and a baby can't nap in a 90 degree bedroom). So our family reunion was unfortunately and unexpectedly shortened. I raised the issue to Susie, who is the property management owner, and she simply didn't respond, which (as a former VRBO rental owner in Yosemite) I found appalling. So zero stars for customer service/responsiveness and for false advertising (though they have since changed the vrbo ad). Besides that, its a nice house. There is a smores kit and firepit that we enjoyed. There is a coffee station that is well stocked. It's about a 15+ minute drive to Carmel proper and the beach. There's some local Carmel Valley grocery stores and restaurants. But I would avoid this rental place during hot weather until they add A/C to the other side of the house.

The home was welcoming, the house was spacious & everyone was able to be together without feeling squeezed in! The house was perfect for 7 people & gathering spaces, kitchen, dining and living room could fit everyone. I would stay here again!

Lovely home, well stocked kitchen with spacious dining table inside and on deck for great family meals. Fire pit on enclosed front patio and gas grill in back were a plus. Comfortable beds and one level home was perfect for toddlers. Marco was helpful and easy to reach.

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. It was very clean and was even nicer than the photos showed. The beds were very comfortable!!

This house was perfect for our family of 4 siblings plus spouses to reconnect. The beds were all very comfortable, linens were top of the line, the kitchen was amazingly well stocked, the yard was ideal for sitting outside, sharing dinner and talking. We couldn't have found a better place to stay.

The hosts have done a fantastic job of setting up this property to have everything you need to have a great visit to the Carmel valley area. The house was very clean and has a great setup. Definitely a good house for a family getaway.

House is beautiful. Has everything you need except for AC. It was warm when we were out there but the property management helped with getting fans. Otherwise enjoyed our time there.

We had such a magical time exploring Big Sur and a big part of magical time was this home. Marco was oh so very helpful and the home had everything we needed and more. Thank you for letting us stay. Hopefully we make our way back one day.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It accommodated all of us easily. Nicely decorated and the grounds were lovely. Lots of places to enjoy the outdoors. The check in was a bit unconventional as we had to go pick up the key code and pacer from the property management Co. and communications were a bit slow. But a nice place to stay.

I rented this house for a work trip. Me and 3 coworkers stayed while working an even at Laguna Seca. The house was the perfect retreat at the end of a long day, with all the amenities you’d want, in a quiet neighborhood, nearby restaurants and grocery store. The cozy living room and plush beds were especially appreciated after being on our feet for long hours. Would rent again!
