Absolutely gorgeous! This was a true "island experience" without sacrificing convenience. Woke up every morning to a beautiful sunrise and watched the full moon rise over the Mokulua Islands! Isolated and very quiet location, but a quick drive to stores and shops in Kailua. A casual 10 minute walk to a very quite beach. The house is clean and well maintained with all the necessary amenities. Bikes, kayak, sand toys, beach chairs, etc. Island hospitality at its best! The house gets a little warm during the day (no A/C), but once the windows are opened, the cool island breeze makes everything perfect. Plenty of space to relax in the house. There were only 5 of us staying, but felt we could have had another extended family stay with us.

We really enjoyed the villa. The view on the sea is amazing and the way the house has been built and designed is so well thought. The sizes of the rooms were very spacious. There was a lot of greenery around the house was very nice as we had a feeling of nature all around. Each window has a net, so we could enjoy the nice breeze during the day and the night. The house is just few minutes walk of Lanikai beach which makes it great to go to the beach in the mornings. The neighbourhood is very quiet, clean, peaceful and charming. Actually the reality of the house is nicer than the feeling from the website. So I would really recommend this villa. We would for sure definitely like to come back.

Great house with incredible views! The pictures don’t capture the tradewinds, sounds of the beautiful birds singing and the fragrant tropical smells from all the flowering trees! My family of 5 with 3 adult children in their 20’s enjoyed many dinners, drinks and card games on the lanai. Lanikai Beach is beautiful and the kayak provided several trips out to the Mokes! Biked into Kailua for a crepe breakfast...felt right at home! Beds were all comfy, great water pressure in all showers and kitchen and Weber charcoal grill worked perfectly! Thanks for a wonderful home to make our week special!

The views from every room were spectacular. We appreciated the sports equipment and even made an adventure of hauling the kayak to the beach! The outdoor shower was used often after trips to the beach and one very muddy waterfall hike. Candy accommodated our daughter’s early arrival from Australia. Having 3 full bathrooms made our life easier with two teenagers. Our only problem was the uphill drive but our son mastered it quickly and was able to back the cars up with ease. We hope we get another opportunity to stay there!!!

Everything about this property met and exceeded expectations. The pictures from the ad and property matched and were beautiful The views spectacular, the home was clean, updated, and in great shape. The amenities were as promised and the space was more than adequate for entertaining for a holiday dinner (Thanksgiving). Candy (property manager) was available, proactive and responded quickly when we needed her for a quick second In service on the tv. All bathrooms were completely updated, the linens were higher end (above hotel quality) and the feel of the property was as if you had arrived in a friend's home for a visit. The home gave an upscale island feel without the "pink whale"feel you see in many properties. The art was lovely and the owner's choice of furniture gave the sense of a home well appointed from travels abroad giving the feeling of Raffles in Singapore, and Hemingway coming home. All in all a great experience and a home we would rent again when we return to Hawaii.

We were a group of 3 adults and 5 kids from 8 to 14 years old. This house was just perfect for us. House was clean, very spacious, incredible view from the main lanai and the master bedroom. We enjoyed many great sunrises over the ocean. It has a great location, good spot to visit most of the island (we did not go north). No A/C was not a problem because of the nice breeze. This is a beautiful home with amazing views of Lanikai Beach. My wife and I stayed with my parents and brother plus his fiancé for the week and it was perfect. The house had plenty of room, was well furnished and had everything we needed for a perfect beach vacation (make sure you take the kayak out to the Mokulua Islands). This is a dream home. Can't wait to return again soon!

All our family (6 adults and 1 baby) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well appointed home in Lanikai. It is spacious, comfortably furnished, and became our welcome retreat after a busy day. The amazing views from the balconies at any time of day or night had were mesmerizing! The best thing about it was being removed from the hubbub down below at beach level. The shops, restaurants, and amenities in nearby Kailua served all our needs. We were greeted by Candas, who gave prompt, cheerful and helpful attention to our questions. We just spent six days at this lovely home. We are a family of four, two adults and two daughter's ages 8 and 11. We could all have some space. We live on the Big Island in Hawaii in a rural setting and wanted a change of pace. We got it! This home offers so much. The views are spectacular. It is an easy and gentle five minute walk to the beach. The neighbor brought us mangoes. The area is quiet. The restaurants are wonderful. Honolulu is 30 minutes away if you need a bit of "The City". We would like to come back. The price is not much different than two hotel rooms. Need I say more.

We recently stayed at this property May 13th through the 21st. The home is absolutely beautiful and a pleasant walk to the beach. Great location at the end of the street and very private. Close to a public ocean front beach park and a great local restaurant, Buzz's. The management was great and easy to work with and Candy was very helpful upon our arrival and throughout the trip. I would stay at this property again. Note, after traveling all over the island I was very glad we stayed in this house on the Windward Coast. Best side of the island.

One of the best family vacations we have ever had. The house is beautiful and well stocked. The views are amazing. Only issue we had was getting in and out of the driveway. It's very steep and narrow. We were traveling with our senior parents and the driveway and stairs were our only issues- and those were minor. We are already talking about coming back and we will definitely rent this place. Candy is super sweet and very helpful. Thank you for opening your home up to travelers and visitors-and for sharing your treasure!

This is just a perfect place for a holiday with family or friends! The home is situated in an unbelievably beautiful setting. The views you see in the photo are authentic. We could have stayed on the front deck all day long and never tired of the scenery. We were vacationing with our 20-something children and we all had a fabulous time. The home itself is lovely and very well equipped (although grill is a bit tired). The furnishings are so nice and comfortable and everyone had plenty of space to be together or to have private time. The beach is gorgeous and we had no problem making the walk everyday. We used the kayak, snorkel gear and bicycles - all worked great. Drove to a couple of restaurants close by and hiked up the nearby hills for even more gorgeous views. Wifi was great also and very convenient. This is a beautiful part of the island and there couldn't be a better spot to relax and enjoy the scenery than this unbelievable home. Rick was terrific to deal with in every regard. Highly recommend!!!

My family and I just spent the last week at this amazing home. It was nothing less than perfect. The location, views, access to the beach, hikes and expansive space were all top notch. Candy was very helping in giving us the lay of the land upon arrival. Mahalo. We'll be back. ALOHA!

Excellent stay overall, the house is everything that previous reviewers described. The one surprise for us was that you have to drive to the beach. There is a water access within walking distance, but no real beach. You will need a car to get to the remaining strip of Lanikai beach, or to the Kailua.

Everything was perfect during our time here in Lanikai! This house is amazing - it has everything we could wish for in a vacation rental and then some. The beach is beautiful - we kayaked, snorkeled, walked on the beach, hiked the pillbox trail, and ate practically every meal on the deck. My husband walked around all week saying "it's really nice here!". Candy, the property manager, was very helpful as well. We'll definitely be back!

The house is more wonderful than its picture. We don't want to go anywhere else when we arrived. We can walk to the beach and there are so many beautiful corals and fishes not far from the beach. We only go out once to Lanikai town for lunch. We cooked everyday and there is everything you need in the kitchen. My daughter found many toys and books for kids. If we would come next time, we will absolutely choose this house again.

The home was more than we envisioned; it's a luxurious dream home. It's well appointed and there is plenty of room. The views are amazing, the kitchen is super and we enjoyed the bikes and kayak.

Our family stayed at the Lanikai Villa for 10 days over the 2013 Thanksgiving Holiday. Our party consisted of two families (one with two children under the age of 6, and one with a child age 3), and our Mother or "Nana." Altogether, we had 5 adults, and three young children. The home and bedrooms were perfect for our family. The bathrooms were beautiful and modern, all with plenty of storage. This goes for the closets and dressers too! The washer and dryers were conveniently located, and all the machine amenities were stocked. We were pleased to find a wonderful assortment of toys and books for children in this home. We spent endless hours cooking wonderful meals in the kitchen while our kids were in the living room reading or playing with the games and toys. At night, when we were wiped out, there were plenty of movies for both adults and children to enjoy. Lots of wonderful books too! The home is phenomenal, and the views are spectacular. The lanai was a favorite spot for watching the sun come up with a cup of coffee or with a glass of wine as the sun went down. Fun to sit on while it was raining too. Even in the rain, this was a wonderful home to listen to nature, and watch rainbows over the Mokes! The homeowner has thought of everything--with plenty of beach gear, and a kitchen with everything you need. We loved the outdoor shower to clean up with every day—and soap, shampoo and conditioner were also in every shower, so no need to scramble if you forgot yours! We loved the location of this home. Lanikai is literally "the end of the road" in this area of Kailua, so 2 one-way streets lead residents and locals in and out of the neighborhood. It has a wonderful bike/pedestrian lane in both directions, and was always filled with with runners, walkers, doggies and bikers. Candy was great to work with as well--she greeted us with an island smile, and walked us through the home and made us feel welcome. We contacted her two times with questions or concerns, and she promptly returned calls. This holds true with the owners too: correspondence was quickly replied to, payment was simple and easy, and the security deposit was returned with a cordial note. We can only hope that our families will find the time in the future to return to this wonderful neighborhood and home. We are sure that anyone who stays here will feel the same!

Our family stayed in this home for 8 days with six adults and two children. There was plenty of room and the house was in perfect condition with beautiful furnishings. The view of Lanikai beach was stunning. The spacious living room, kitchen and lanai were perfect for entertaining our family. To our surprise there were plenty of games and sand toys for our young grandchildren. The property manager was attentive and very kind. We highly recommend this home and will stay again. Mahalo!!

My family and I recently stayed here and had a wonderful vacation. The views online truly do not do the house justice. Its one of the best located homes in all of Lanikai, up in the hillside, giving you amazing panoramic views of the "Mokes" and Lanikai/Kailua. The house itself is gorgeous. I would describe the style as "Asian minimalist" - - and it was absolutely HUGE. The 2nd floor Lanai was almost the size of the giant family room. The bedrooms were all very nicely sized, the kitchen was well organized with everything that you could think of needing, and the house as a whole was IMMACULATE. We had two little kids with us, and even the wide, carpeted stairs worked great for them (3 and 2 years old). You are about 3/4 mile walk from the entrance to Lanikai beach, and 2 miles from Kailua beach. Both beaches are ridiculously amazing. Soft, white sand, family-oriented, crystal blue relatively calm waters. Sensational. There are some great restaurants in Kailua town, lots of different variety. We even hiked the Pillbox trail (with our 3 year old) which ends up going up the hills that the house is situated in. You can see how perfectly positioned the house is relative to the rest of the homes in Lanikai from the 1st Pillbox. One of a kind! Our only regret was that we only had a long weekend to spend in this beautiful home, in this quaint little town. We will be back for sure!

We stayed in this home for 9 days with 8 adults (4 couples) for a family get-together from the US mainland and Japan. The size of the house was just right for 8 people. We really liked the roomy living room, kitchen, and dining space both in the house and at the lanai. The view from the lanai was stunningly beautiful both day and night (especially on a full moon night). It was very convenient because beach parasol, snorkeling gear (which worked perfect!), life jackets, beach towels, etc. were available at the house. We got a lot of deli foods from Whole Foods Market in Kailua Town (only about 7 minutes drive) and had a party at a lanai by inviting friends living in Hawaii. They also got very interested in renting this house to experience a luxurious Hawaiian life style! Prior to our trip to Hawaii, the house owner was always very quick to responding to our questions and flexible to our requests. The property manager was very friendly and helpful. Throughout the stay, we were so glad to have our vacation in this wonderfully refined house in its impeccable conditions. Mahalo!!!

We stayed in this home for 10 days with 4 adults and 5 children. Room to spare. The house was in perfect condition with great furnishings and a stunning view of Lanikai beach. Great surprise to see that there were bikes, a kayak, beach towels, a BBQ and snorkeling gear to be used during our stay. At low tide only about 5 minutes walk to the beach, at high tide 5 minutes longer since you then have to walk to a wider part of the beach. This is fine, since the high location catches a nice breeze that keeps the home cool, especially at night. Attentive greeting by the property manager and flexible checkout at the end. We will definitely be coming back when we have the chance.

Our family of 4 stayed in this home for ~ one month from mid-june to mid-july 2012. Prior to our arrival, we had stayed in a different home in Lanikai, so I feel we have good perspective on what the area can offer. After staying two separate places in Lanikai (one down on the loop, and this home), I can say that this home was by far our favorite. The location was superb. Sitting up on the hill a bit, the home keeps you away from the traffic and parking etc that can take place on Aalapapa st closer down to the beach. That said, walking to the beach is still very easy from this home. Because the home is on the hill, it has views that are unrivaled and breath taking. In addition, the breezes you get are awesome. Who wants AC when you can breath fresh Hawaii air, while NOT being hot! Now, on to the home and its amenities. Wow. Its beautiful. I am not sure when it was remodeled, but it was like staying in a brand new home. Beautiful and tasteful furnishings. We have stayed in many nice hotels (4 seasons and the like), and can say we felt this home equaled in quality (linens, beds). I also loved the fact that I didnt feel like I was staying in someone's full time home....sometimes vacation rentals can have lots of personal affects or seem cluttered, and that was not the case here. The home is solid, and really is quiet (new construction). Its at the end of a street, so you do not have lots of neighbors on top of you. This said, while we were there, a new house was going up nearby, so I would definitely check on the status, it would not deter me from renting again. It was by no means invasive, but just something to check on. The Lanais and outdoor showers etc were huge and beautiful. My husband worked on the 2nd story lanai all month. We ate all our meals outside. It was beautiful. With an unobstructed view of the mokes. The caretaker was incredibly kind, helpful and resourceful. What a gem this home is. Oh, to quickly answer some of the VRBO questions: The home was immaculately clean The home met the description provided, and the views/state of the home far exceed the advertisement I would absolutely recommend this home to others. The owner and caretaker were extremely helpful.
