I liked that it was a large space with plenty of bedrooms, laundry on site, and short drive to town. The host was quick to respond for any questions I had.

The house wasn’t taken care of. First impression, it was the rundown house on the block—paint was peeling on exterior and looked run down. While staying we found it had termites because piles termite poop formed in the middle of the living space floor each day and the overall quality of the home seemed unmaintained. It wasn’t ideal to have the downstairs renter able to access the inside of our rental due to a shared staircase on the interior. The small padlock accessible from the lower floor seems like a false sense of security. The kitchenware was very cheap as well as all the furnishings inside the home. For having to pay so much a night, I felt the quality of the home wasn’t worth it. I will be paying to stay in a hotel next time visiting Kona!
