I love this property so much. Our kids think it is magical. It is a great place for our family to connect.

We stayed here with two families totaling 4 adults and 3 young children (ages 3-6) and loved the property. There was plenty of space for everyone in the home. Plenty of towels and kitchen gear for cooking. The back yard was several acres large and split between cleared (grass) and forest. There are short trails through the forest in the yard and even some smaller redwoods on site. The kids loved exploring the property to see all the critters. We ran into deer, elk, a mole, birds, a skunk, and of course many banana slugs in the yard. There is a cool frisby golf course set up as well with frisbies provided. The pictures included in the posting don't do justice to backyard, I recommend that the owners should add some more pictures to show how large it is. The location was excellent. 10 minutes to everything in Crescent City (food, stores, harbor, beaches, etc) and 5 minutes to the entrance of Jedediah Smith and Del Norte Coast Redwood Parks, 15-25 minutes to the most popular trails. My only suggestion is that the property has no microwave and one should provided. As travelers used to camping in tents, we were able to make due without one. But for travelers away from home and their typical food preparation options, (and with fussy kids) having a microwave makes the experience so much more convenient. I'd stay here again.

Large parking and yard. House did have smoke smell but very roomy. Definitely will stay here next time!

Clean, well-kept, secluded.

Perfect for our large family! The property is very private and perfect for kids to run around and play. The fire pit was fun for s'mores and late nights under the stars. The house is cozy and had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again!

4 senior citizen couples thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Home is very clean - beds were great - kitchen had everything we needed as we cooked all of our meals. The property is lovely - very private and so quiet. Signs of elk and deer but never actually saw them. Enjoyed fire pit as well, 2 recommendations: Handrails on front porch for safety and at least add a sink and mirror to downstairs bathroom/laundry room.

We loved our stay and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, secluded location of this property. It is still very close to everything you want: 10 minutes to the best tide pool beach we've every been to, and to town, and 15 minutes to Stout Grove in Jedediah Smith State Park, which was our favorite of all the Redwood parks. We had elk walking through the property which was such a fun treat. The only thing we missed was a microwave. When planning your meals, keep in mind that they have a countertop air fryer/toaster oven, but not a microwave. Otherwise we found everything we needed in the kitchen. This was a trip that we would all love to do again!

Our family gets together every few years just to let everyone spend quality time together. It's hard to find a home that sleeps a lot of people with plenty of yard to spread your wings. This one was just right. Private and not too close to the coast (better weather). Just minutes away by car. The yard was so big that we enjoyed frisbee, corn-hole and visiting around the fire pit. My grand-daughter set up a tent site for her family and enjoyed privacy and open air. The BBQ had an extra propane tank. We brought our own (didn't need it) because we've stayed at places where it runs out. The house was clean and the kitchen was stocked with all the cook ware you could ask for. Family rule ... everyone takes turns cooking and we all had what we needed. The stairs from the main floor are steep so bring a gate if you have littles. One of the rooms has childrens books and games. All the beds were comfortable! There are working fire places for winter visits. If you're not familiar with the coast, winter can be great. We would stay there again. The owners are easy to reach and were accomodating to our family needs.

Nice location, feels like in country and very private but only 2 miles from town. Great for family gathering with plenty space, frisbee golf, Fire pit, etc

This house is amazing! The house fit are large group very comfortably. The downstairs area is perfect for teenagers(12-16 years old) to hang out and feel they have their own space. The hosts are very friendly and available to answer any questions. The backyard/property is perfect for kids to run around and explore. Highly recommend this house!!

Couldn’t be happier with our stay at this property. The beds/bedding/pillows were all super comfortable and luxurious. The property was beautiful and very private - lots of fun playing frisbee golf. Kitchen was very well stocked. And I was pleasantly surprised by all the kids/baby books - our infant loved read all of them. Such a great location too - just minutes from town and the redwoods. Would 100% rebook if were ever back in the area.

This is a beautiful home with lots of privacy, even though it is only minutes from town. Every detail was thought of. Well-stocked kitchen, plenty of space at the table for eating and playing games, cozy decor with plenty of room to socialize, very cozy beds, games to play, wood available for the fireplace, etc. This was probably the cleanest VRBO we've ever stayed at! The hosts were very accommodating and available if needed. I would highly recommend this home! We had a great stay!

I have stayed in many VRBO properties and this one is hands down the best! The house is beautiful and comfortable at the same time. The beds are fantastic and the linens are like a warm cloud of comfort. Courtney and Micah are very easy to communicate with and so accommodating when requests were made. I would recommend this property to everyone.

Nice location and very quiet. Owners very communicative. It was a mini-reunion for old high school friends of five decades. We kayaked down the Smith River, went fishing, and generally had a good time. Nice amenities, and lots of room for a party of five, with 5 bedrooms. We received a visit one night from a fox, and were able to go eye to eye through a glass door with it. It must have been welcoming us, although I suspect it was really searching for treats that had fallen from the barbecue.

We loved this house...Clean and well cared for home, comfortable beds, quiet location, responsive owners...basically a great place to stay. We would definitely want to stay here again if we come back to the area. The frisbee golf, board games, puzzles and TV room were a hit with the 7 teens and young adults. Overall, a great VRBO and one of the best so far.

We loved your place! The little fish pond in the front was so cute, even had a frog hop right in front of us down the stairs. And loved the back yard, so open and beautiful with a private forest we walked in and found banana slugs galore…and checked out the beautiful fuchsia flowers. The house was cozy with very comfy beds and had everything we needed. We had the coolest thing happen when we were packing up to leave…a whole elk herd including a baby quietly walked through the side yard…it was almost a reverent experience…none of us will ever forget it. Thank you very very much for letting us stay at your Magical Retreat!

We loved our stay in your home and can’t wait to come back again! The house had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfy. We loved that it had 2 king beds! Our kids loved the downstairs bedrooms, living area, and games. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed playing disc golf, making s’mores, and exploring the yard. We saw two elk in the yard! Amazing! The kids also loved the banana slugs. The location was perfect for visiting the beach and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Definitely book this place!

This house and the surrounding property were fantastic! The house was nicely appointed with everything we needed for a fantastic time with family. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen met all our needs and the yard was a great place for frisbee golf, corn hole, and of course an evening gathering around the fire pit. We were close to the Smith River and various beaches and hikes! We will definitely be back!

This was perfect for our group! The location is beautiful and the house is well maintained. Lots of good space, comfortable beds surrounded by all the good things Mother Nature has to offer.

What a great place. Not only the location but everything was nice and clean. The hosts were friendly and responded in a timely manner. All the beds were comfortable. Everything was closed by. 5 to 10 mins away from everywhere we went. I seriously can't say enough good things about this property. Thank you to our host for making a great weekend trip for my family and I.

Enjoyed our stay! My kid said it's the nicest house she's ever been in! Our group of 11 people (4 adults, 7 kids) fit comfortably. The kids loved the large yard to play and cozy basement to stream Disney+. The adults loved the king sized beds, a working washer/dryer, fully stocked kitchen to make a few meals and plenty of room to relax upstairs. We used the BBQ and enjoyed playing a little frisbee golf in the yard! The house is in a peaceful, secluded area tucked back in the trees. We really loved our stay! The only thing that would make it perfect would be if they had a microwave! But there wasn't much to complain about and the hosts were responsive to any questions or concerns we had during our stay.

Upon arrival we were in awe of how wonderful this home was more it was more than I expected it is so beautiful having the perfect blend of rustic and modern style very clean and comfortable. The backyard goes from being a huge yard to a enchanting walk in the forest it is enormous.The hosts were very kind and left good instructions throught the home but not overbearing. One of the bathrooms has a jacuzzi tub which was very nice and the other bathroom had two shower heads which was perfect for us. It is close to the beach about 5-7 mins but the home is also tucked away so you get peace and quiet. I want to thank the hosts for a awesome couple days that we got to spend as a family we don't get to vacation very often so it makes it so much nicer when you arrive to a place like this, it almost hurt to leave.

The location is perfect… down a quiet road … very private. The trees and landscape is beautiful and the spacious backyard was perfect for yard games! The inside of the house is very nice and the beds so comfy with nice linens on them. We very much enjoyed renting this house and will be telling our friends about it!

A wonderful stay and experience at this lovely mid-century home with an amazing backyard to explore and relax. The house was immaculate, the rooms/beds were very comfortable and lots of places to lounge around with the family. Mica our host was super - communications were prompt, information readily available at the house and very responsive when we had a question. Couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy a family getaway. Thank you!!!

This house sits in its own little forest with redwood trees at the end of a quiet driveway. It is close enough to the city to get there within a few minutes drive but secluded enough to feel like there is no one else around. The house itself is well taken care of and has a lot of room for everyone. The beds are very comfortable. The kids loved the tadpoles in the front entry pond. The hosts were great and quick to respond in all communications. Check in and out was so easy. I would recommend this to anyone who is traveling in the area!
