Rooms are not being taken care of very well my second room had bugs all over the wall that look like gnats and mosquitoes. They had to change my room and put me in another room.

Beachside hotel on Clearwater beach. Parking not included $25 a day plus tax. Hotel rooms recently modernised. Best point is location.

When we arrived there was a tropical storm that turned into a class 1 hurricane. Our air conditioner leaked water into the floor the entire stay. We were provided with towels once to dry it up ourselves. We weren’t informed of how to pay for parking and I had assumed it would be charged to my credit card. Two days later I had a citation and I tried to pay for the parking using the QR code for our 6 day stay and it wouldn’t let me change the dates. It was an issue that guest services did resolve but involved time out of my vacation to address. The outside area by the beach flooded and stayed full of water for most of trip and this became very smelly. Our shower didn’t get cleaned very well during our stay. We have stayed at this place like four times now and while the rooms have been updated it still made me feel like the place wasn’t as pristine as it once was. We went to the more casual restaurant one night and it was overpriced for the quality of food served. This place is now owned by Marriott and definitely now what I would have expected from them. I will likely go somewhere else in the future.

We loved walking right out door and into the ocean. Very convenient to Pier 60.

I have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed it. It’s a beautiful property with plenty to do and outside the traffic Clearwater. My only complaint was that this time my wife and I had checked in later in the evening and when we walked in, a huge roach was running through the room. I know it’s Florida, it happens, but after I got rid of this thing, I went into the bathroom to flush it, and another even bigger one was there, with a baby right next to it. My wife freaked. I killed it, flushed them all, looked around and after I calmed her down we had a great time.

Overall a very nice place, walk to the beach is decent but worth the privacy of a private beach. However I was charged multiple times for an incidental fee, which was supposed to be refunded after check out but has still yet to be. Other than that a place worth of a visit.

I was put on the room next to the maintenance at six in the morning, my kids were awake because of other noise I trust the manager to help us change room in the morning and they no that’s nothing they can do for the price. It was disappointed other than that nice hotel

Beautiful room, great staff. Pool was a hot tub, way small. Pool close at 11pm Pool bar closes at 9pm on weekends. Sat night one bar open and they close at 11 because the bartenders were tired. Only two restaurants onsite, same menu. no excursion onsite at all. Food was not bad, just topical.

Great location. Facility is older, as expected. Room was a bit smaller than expected. On-stie dining was below par but local restaurants were excellent and within easy walking distance. Private beach was definitely a plus. A bit pricey for an older facility. Did have to request a rollaway bed for the room. I assumed it would be already there since we have a family of 5 and the room had (2) queen beds but it was delivered and put in place very expeditiously.

This property is a joke a much as it cost for weekend stays they could at least give you good toilet paper. They make you pay for parking. The bed comforter sounds like a trash all night . The shower head is to short and to close to the shower wall . The microwave is in a different location then the snack store and they don’t have one in the room which in stupid. Also the gym was closed . The was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel.

Unfortunately the property wasn’t taken care of properly. The bathroom had mold, the room’s A/C wasn’t working well, and the patio was dirty. The parking lot was a shared lot where guests had to pay for parking just like non-guests. There was only one cart that would take people to the beach and that cart stopped doing trips at 6. You were charged excessively for services that other hotels either provide complimentary or charge very little for. Lastly, the worst part of the hotel was the pool, which was too small to accommodate a hotel this big, where half the pool was also 8ft and outdated.

Hotel needs an upgrade. Rooms are a bit old, bathroom is very small. There’s no resources if you’re staying for a long period and wants to bring your own food, except a small fridge. The room fits 4 people but the table only fits two. Parking is free and the hotel staff is friendly. Swimming pool is small.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Sand Key. It is a nice, family friendly hotel. The Jolly Trolly stops at the hotel and takes you for a short ride over to Pier 60 area with many restaurant options and boat excursions. The downside is that the pool area of the hotel is nice but the photos are deceiving. In reality the pool is small and gets crowded. Also, it is a long walk to the beach. Again, the photos make it seem like the property is right next to the beach. All in all it was a good stay. The staff is super warm and accommodating.
