Beautiful setting

The hotel was located by a paved walk by the Animas River. It was also walking distance to many restaurants and boutiques.
4.4
The hotel is beautiful and high quality. Oyd balcony room was huge, very clean and comfortable.
However we did not have anyone tell us there was handicap ramp to bring up all our luggage and they offered no help. So my husband and I, in our 70s, brought up all our bags by hand up 8 or 10 steps into hotel from parking lot because roly cart could not do those steps! That was disappointing, frustrating and dangerous. At these prices, (not quite $400 a night, including tax, parking , water bottles etc.) seems like they could have at least had a sweet roll to offer for breakfast! Hot coffee was available in lobby until 4 pm and we were given a good chocolate chip cookie each at check in.
4.4
Enjoyed our stay. The room had a lovely patio that faced the river. The only negative was they charged us $12 each night to park in their parking lot. If I had known that in advance I would have parked elsewhere.

We couldn't have asked for a better location and the front desk staff was very professional and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. We'll be coming back.

The location is great, we had a suite on the first floor, the room is huge and comfortable. When we first checked in and went on the balcony we found broken glass and the screen door hanging. The next night the smoke alarm went off at 1:00am. An employee changed the battery and quieted the noise. Be aware that there is a $40.00 night charge for a dog and 13.00 a night for parking. We would stay here again as the river is right outside the door and location is great.

Perfect location, beautiful ground and friendly staff. I loved being able to walk to the Main Street safely as a woman alone. Only negative is it’s a little tricky to get into the lot (probably my navigation to be honest)
4.4
I had booked 2 rooms under 1 reservation and 1 credit card, for some reason the original front desk wouldn’t check in 2nd room unless second form of ID is provided (not a big deal but we were tired and ID was left in the car with the luggage) when we returned to present the card 2nd front desk apologized stating that it wasn’t needed.
Both rooms were booked for 2 nights - housekeeping knocked at 8am while we were still in bed, we left the room at 11am thinking that the beds would be made or towels changed- unfortunately, nothing. Trash was pilling up, no clean towels nor new coffee in either room.
The hotel itself located near highway, it is SUPER loud, there is a nice river view and a walking trail along the river but forget about opening the balcony door (the screen was also broken) you can only hear highway noise. Rooms are super dated, we attempted to go to the pool and it’s the most disgusting pool I’ve seen in my life, it’s either already blooming at the bottom or never have been clean.
Overall - the price doesn’t justify the quality and comfort, oh and they also charge for parking.

Nice property, but no bellman to help with luggage. Room was nice and spacious.

Beautiful! Enjoyed every minute

I loved that the river was right behind it. Walking distance to restaurants and downtown area. Rafting and different activities right in the Albertsons parking lot available.
4.4
Dining.room was.cl9sed, but thankfully we could order at bar (which felt weird as a sole/single parent with 2 younger kids)
Payed ao much already, dosnt know people jad to pay to park as well!!!
4.4
Great location next to the river. On site bar and easy walk to the main shopping and dining street at Moab.
4.4
Expedia listed this property as upscale and perhaps it was in 1984. I booked this while driving (I know) so didn’t read all the details but figured at $400 per night it would be fine. No breakfast. Front desk charged another $12 for parking. Travel a lot and occasionally stay at nice (upscale) hotels. This is not one.
Location is within walking distance of downtown and river was nice.
I don’t do reviews usually.

I’ve stayed here before so I was excited about my return trip.
All was good except I really wanted a room on a higher level for a better view I of the River. But a tour bus group got all the good rooms - or so I was told- and I had a ground floor room. The room was great - but the view was not so great. I hate to pay extra for a River view and not get a very good view of the River, which is why I chose this hotel. There are good hotels elsewhere for less.
So next time I’ll probably just go for price - because even though you have a reservation and request that doesn’t come with any guarantees these days.
I am an Honors Member - but all I got was a cookie and water.
Thanks for the room and nice staff. But the view was lacking. I drove 17 hours to stay here. And I paid $400+/night for the room.
So obviously I’m not overly pleased and chances of me coming back here is about as good as the hotel giving me what I reserved - a nice river view.

This was a nice hotel. But if you didn't tell me where i was, I would think a very nice Holiday Inn or Comfort Inn. General maintenance was just ok: clogged sink, patched wall paper, loud and soap scummed shower head, etc. nothing to run out screaming, but not the quality I would expect for the price point. Also, NOTHING is complementary. They charge for water in the room, parking, breakfast, snacks. Little cheap feeling
4.4
We really enjoyed the stay. Staff was over the top friendly. The cookies were good and we will make it back next year and stay there again

Finally got to explore Durango and it did not disappoint, but the staff at the doubletree was on point! I highly recommend this hotel!
4.4
Excellent location for Durango-Silverton train, restaurants and shopping. Had a nice Beer Garden right on the river, beautiful setting.
4.4
I love watching rafters and kayakers on the Animas River from my luxury suite with my 2 little dogs.
4.4
The property was very walkable to downtown. The facilities and nice. My children really enjoyed the pool. The only complaint I had was that housekeeping was not very thorough in cleaning the room. The body wash and lotion bottles both ran out. I left notes on top of each of the bottles to refill them. They refilled the body wash, but ignored the note on the lotion.

Great location, friendly service

You guys are sitting on a goldmine. Great view just meters from the river, 10 minute walk to the town center, near restaurants, shops, the train station. But the patio screens are a mess, the carpets are filthy, the decor is from the 70's. Whats the deal?
4.4
Enjoyed our stay on the river / balcony room Staff very pleasant and accommodating
Would like to see this hotel get updated , in lobby , restaurant and bathrooms in hotel. Was out dated , but facilities where very nice and enjoyed our stay !
4.4
Fantastic location in Durango, easy walk to train station and white water rafting base. Grocery store right next door, in hotel restaurant was a bit pricey.
Only one J1772 outlet available
4.4
The rooms facing the river have nice views from the balcony. The hotel has easy parking but they charge for it. Easy walking to the downtown historic area and restaurants. There is a nice walk along the river as well. The property is a bit dated but the beds were comfortable and the room clean.
4.4
We had a room overlooking the river and with a balcony. It was great, relaxing, peaceful. We loved it!

Property needs to be updated.

Upon entering, I had immediately decided that I would not be spending my 3 night stay at this Hotel due to ; it not looking like that photos, the smell, and the uncleanliness.
I told the woman up front that we would only stay 1 night. Instead she ran the card for all 3 nights. Now our account had a huge hold on it ($1,200) due to the front desk simply not listening nor engaging with the customer. Definitely would be weary of your stay here. Our account still has a hold on it - allowing us to not fully enjoy our 4th of July weekend
4.4
Durango Silverton railroad ride to Cascade fantastic. Cancelled the RSVP in bernalillo NM, took the loss on $$ but it was worth it. Would stay here again, next USA road trip in 2025!

Nice stay
4.4
This is a very nice upscale hotel on the river. It has two restaurants or three inside. It is very clean and there’s a grocery store in walking distance which makes it nice. I would stay here again.
4.4
Bed not as comfortable as most Hilton stays. Would like area restaurants listed and things to do. Not all use internet
4.4
Location overlooking the river
4.4
Great location on the river and walking distance to main street and the train.
4.4
Love this place , nice quiet , clean
4.4
Older hotel that has older hotel issues, for starter's, shower drains are horrible at best. Sliding glass doors are easy to break in to
4.4
Super convenient. We got a river view room and loved it. Facility is definitely dated but beds were comfortable and poetry was quiet.
4.4
Hotel was nice. Close to downtown Durango and has a restaurant built in if you prefer to stay close to your room. Being close to the walking path along the river is a nice touch.

Nice
