I learned a dirty little secret of how some of these hotels are using the online booking sites other than their own brand booking. The room they gave us was beside the elevator door which normally wouldn't be a problem, but this elevator door made a squeeling noise each time it opened. I asked the front desk about this and I was told that the room I booked was the cheapest ! I guess that was an excuse to give us the worst room they could ! Of course on Hotels there are many rooms offered at the same price so you don't know this when booking. Also, there was black electrical tape over the TV and Microwave LED's so the Tv remote wouldn't work until I realized what someone had done. I guess the cleaners didn't notice that either. But then this must be the price you pay for the cheapest room on Hotels site !!

It was one of the nicest stays I have had the staff was so friendly. It was decorated for fall and it felt so homey and quiet.

Got in late and they were booked up and only two rooms left. We booked a week in advance. The staff at the front desk asked if we would like 2nd or 3rd floor. He was very nice. When we got to the room the door was slightly ajar. It was hot and the air was not working at all. We immediately went back and asked to go to the 3rd floor room. First said they did not have any other rooms so we asked for a refund. He said that since we booked on Hotel.com he could not refund us. Finally they agreed to give us the other room. They booked the hotel full even though they knew the air was not working in that room. Breakfast staff were very attentive to all the guests.

Staff was friendly. Very cool nights. Unit only blowing cool air and told no one to repair it since maintenance had left. Second night someone was contacted but didn’t show. Maintenance never showed up to repair and I spent 2 nights being cold. Cleaning staff was accommodating. Decorated nicely.

The customer service from the staff was great. The hotel was dirty in the room plus several leaks in the ceiling. Not sure how they got a 8.6 rating its a 6 at best . I will not be staying here again. Checked out after 1 night.

This Beat Western worked out well for us. The area is quiet and close to good restaurants and shopping. The pool area was nice and the coffee better than most places. The sink in our room had big gouges in it and the lamp on one side of the bed was missing, which i found disappointing. If we are going to the Gardendale area again, we would stay there again.

This is the perfect property when visiting Gardendale. My family lives literally right down the street, and all town shops and restaurants are mere minutes away. Secluded yet convenient. Front desk staff and housekeeping are always a pleasure to work with. Breakfast buffet is outstanding. Pool and exercise room nice and well kept. i am always treated well at checkin/checkout. Great place

The room was on the first floor and the humidity in the room was noticable. We had the AC turned down to 65 degrees and we were either sweating or freezing. The humidity also caused some visible mold on the bathroom ceiling and on the tub fixtures. The beds weren't all that comfortable either. My mattress was soft and had a noticeable dip. The breakfast was free so I will reframe from critiquing that.

Hotel is a little dated, but clean. There wasn’t a Bible in my room so I asked the front desk clerk if it was an oversight and he said Best Western doesn’t do that anymore. Just trying to get this information out there for the people that this is important to.

We stayed one night as we travel back to Texas. I always check reviews before we stay somewhere. The reviews for this hotel were pretty good so we decided to give it a try and I’m glad we did! Check in was smooth and the front desk was friendly, the room was clean, the ice machine worked great, nice hot water in the shower, the beds were very comfortable, room stayed cool, and the breakfast was great! Highly recommend staying here if you are traveling. We will stay again when we come back this way. Thank you to the staff for all that you do to make our stay comfortable.

Hotel was clean. Not much interaction with staff. House keeping didn’t get to our room until after 3:00 pm. Wife and I were up early and returned for a nap at 3:00 pm as we were going to have a late night. Arrive early or parking is an issue.

Lovely wooded surroundings and great pool. The hotel was older and had a musty smell to it. Staff was courteous and the breakfast was excellent! Overall was a decent hotel but just needs some updating.

Stay away. Run down. Lots of better values across the freeway. Inconvenient location. Manager had a/c shut off in common areas. Bed was from Jimmy Carter era. Mold in shower.

Locating the Hotel made you feel leary if you were going to the right place, no signage leading to the property. Main floor common area no ac, open doors to rooms ???, poor light was uncomfortable, darkish hallway and carpeting ( is it clean or not). Rooms were the same but were air conditioned. Bed was comfortable, poor lighting also, sink was cracked but didn’t leak? Just was disappointed.
